I don't know that I have even commented but just felt led to today. I am 33 and my mom, who was my best friend, passed at the end of April very unexpectedly. Your mom reminds me so much of her. A bit how she looks but mainly her spirit. Her love for you is evident and her willingness to do anything for you is so like my mama. Although it hurts a little to see you and your mom doing things that I can never experience again there is a part is comforting. Thank you for sharing. 💕 Also I love your classroom theme and that you are able to let your creativity fly there, since your hubby like your home to be minimal. 💕💗💕
Definitely a good idea to use "print" instead of "cursive" fonts for early elementary if you want them to be able to read it. Another birthday chart idea: take pictures of the kids holding the date (print big numbers) in order for their birthday for the month. I saw it on Pinterest and used it the last few years of teaching. The only issue is if you have a lot of move-ins-- unless you do individual pictures instead of a group one. My kids loved it! I hope you have a great year in 2nd grade (my favorite!).
You guys did such an amazing job your room is so beautiful and so cozy looking I wish my teachers did that back in the day it would’ve been so cool to go to class in a classroom like that great job!!!

Hey! If you aren’t going to use the desks then I suggest using other organizational systems. It will help them in the future if they know the importance of organization at a young age. The classroom looks AMAZING 🤩

Last day of classroom set up? Here in Arizona the students have gone back already. 😭 I just went back to school this fall semester to become a teacher and I'm soooo worried since I grew up in Texas with a traditional school year.
We started on August 26 just north of you in Michigan. It was H-O-T these last two weeks with students. Whew! Ever try to keep masks on the faces of middle school kids who are sweating to death? lol I don't recommend it ;) Your room looks awesome. Have a great year!
