You really hit the nail on the head with this video! "Don't put your stuff on a pedestal above your own mental health and happiness." We can do it! ❤️ 💪🏻
1. Stop the inflow 2. Trash sweep 3. Stay focused on decluttering 4. Donate more instead of selling 5. 80/20 rule : tackle high impact areas 6. Be ruthless 7. Create clutter drop zones 8. Set a timer 9. Use a rehome box 10. Make decluttering fun!
I like number 4. I get stuck in the rut of trying to get my money back out of things and so things sit in boxes or bags while I'm trying to get my money back..... This raises the stress level and so now I've just been giving it away.
Today Oct 17th, I got rid of 1 photo album, 88 old junk photos, 4 magazines, 1 tote bad, tore up old receipts. Since March 2022, I've got rid of over 125 items out of my home. I've been writing down the items. Proud of myself.
That is so cool! I've been having some morale boosting wins, now that I choose to make decluttering into my daily friend, like eating and sleeping are essential, so is living space management. Letting go of the hopeless feeling that the clutter is 'never-ending' and an 'eternal obstacle' to me getting on with what I WANT to be doing, I can make it a fun, quick, easy thing I do every day like exercise, breathing, and other self-care opportunities. In fact, I will have more time and energy to do THOSE things when I bitesize my living space activities. Imagine: I'm going to take a mental health enhancing 15 minute clutter break! After 15 minutes: AHHHHH SO MUCH BETTER NOW! Back to work! Or creativity! Or whatever!!!

I totally agree on being ruthless with clothing. On The Minimalist’s podcast a caller said that when she has trouble getting rid of clothing, she asks herself, “If I had the opportunity to wear this clothing item, would I reach for something else instead?” I thought it was a good way to determine clothing preferences and sorting out what you like and what you actually wear.
Decluttering has been game-changing for me. I'm a mom of three who ended up in a wheelchair (long story!). Taking care of stuff is harder when you're disabled and in pain, so I concluded I should get rid of as much stuff as possible. Midway through my home overhaul, I discovered your channel. Thanks for keeping me company through many hours of decluttering!
Hi Stephanie, your an inspiration to me..many thanks for posting. Firstly, I applaud you getting on with decluttering after becoming an amputee. I'm dealing with Fibromyalgia & sleep apnoea it's a trawl to get motivated. Your strength 💪 has motivated me along with this video to start. Baby steps, Rome was built in a day & all that. Peace, good health & love to you. xx ☯️ 💕 🙏🥂
@@donzabonza2026 Thanks, Donza! Honestly, decluttering has been a lifesaver. I'd rather declutter something once instead of pick it up a thousand times. When I don't feel well and am in pain, I need my home to be easier and more relaxing. I'm sorry you're also dealing with chronic pain. Fibromyalgia and sleep apnea are both so hard. I hope you're hanging in there!
@@mijuajua4820 Thanks! Life has been crazy, but I'm getting through it. It's been really therapeutic getting to know people on TH-cam (I started a channel this year) because there are so many good people out there. It makes hard things easier.
God be with you @StephaninasAmput I can't begin to imagine how you do it, being in a chair + 3 children! I've got so many things wrong with me & also have chronic pain I can barely do anything so I don't get too far at all then everything in my body feels like dishrags getting wrung out, so I'm no good goes out on me & I can't bear the pain... years back I could push myself through the pain but these past 6 yrs it's too excruciating. It just makes me so damn mad!!! I feel like a lazy lump on a log and think that that's what a lot of other people think of me, since we can't see pain on a person. But my heart surely goes out to you. take care now I hope your kiddos help cuz mine never did 🧶🐈🐾🐾🐅🦴🐕🐾🐾🐢
I appreciate that you always emphasize the importance of not bringing in the stuff to begin with. I honestly regret buying 90% of my possessions. The only thing I buy now is nutritious foods and necessities like TP.😅
A trick I have for closets is I put my hangers backward at the beginning of the year and when I wear something I put it back the right way. After a year has gone by all the clothes that are still on the hangers that were backwards are donated.
My psychiatrist told me the reason of my accumulation of stuff (CLOSE TO HOARDING) was because of my losses I had in my life. I was holding on to stuff because I could control that. I had made the thought of getting rid of stuff (I didn’t need) as another loss. I am STILL in the process of decluttering. I have given away about 10 garbage bags (the BIG yard bags) of clothes and shoes. Now, I am working on the useless things I have… like from boyfriends I didn’t love, or little things (like tickets from Universal Studios, T-shirt’s with holes from when I used to live with my dad (daddy didn’t buy this tshirt though), etc etc. It is harder for me than it should be. I have to get in the right mental space and just do it
I relate to this so much. I'm going through it right now. I've been holding onto every thing since my dad's suicide 8 years ago. Did you ever manage to declutter everything?
Yup. I haven't been told that's my case, but I was never really someone who worried about parting with things. But when I was 16 my house was robbed by 14 people over a matter of months and then years (we were on vacation, long story). After that, I started to want to hold onto anything my dad got me, and just things in general. It's like I'm afraid of missing it or feel guilt for getting rid of it. I had a lot of sentimental things from my dad, and everyone i love most, that I had since I was a baby that was stolen. I think that and losing my whole home just messed me up lol. I'm 24 and we still haven't moved back into that house because not only did they rob us almost entirely, they vandalized everything else. I hate low lifes. That's West Virginia for you 😂. They'll suck you dry.
Thank you for this! I filled and tossed 2 trash bags today, and put a small dent in it, then crawled back into my *dent* I have made in my bed which is my comfort zone. My reaction to dumping the stuff tells me I have a little problem I wasn't aware of, but the extra space is lovely tbh. I am 51 and think life has manifested into a "stuff" thing, so since 2 bags "exhausted" me, will tackle more later but I feel like this is a start! Thank you for helping a total stranger.
Notes for me - 1. Keep a trash bag handy and keep putting things in it without worrying about organising/cleaning. 2. Create a drop zone. 3. Donate what’s not needed. 4. Set a timer 5. Re homing basket to put things at their place later. 6. Listen to TH-cam / podcasts. 7. Before and after pictures.
Little guy... hope he feels better! 🙏 Talking about overwhelming... we evacuated from the hurricane just recently and had to relocate for a while... It surely puts everything in perspective... when nothing that is replaceable truly matters, as long as we're all fine 🙂
Thank you for sharing your story. I am decluuttering as part of the grieving process, which goes beyond getting rid of stuff to have a nicer looking home.
I've always been pretty minimalist & want to do a massive declutter. Unfortunately, my husband likes to hold onto almost everything for "just in case" due to previous hardships he's been through. Hope to find a balance ♡
How true about stopping the inflow of clutter! I often used to go out & buy things or buy things online I didn't really need, which not only was a waste of money, but also was continuously adding to the clutter! I am now much more careful about casual shopping. Same with thrift stores, there's such a temptation to pick up a couple more items after dropping off some clutter...
Something that helps for me is to say "If someone asked if they could have this, would I give it to them?" Most of the time it is a yes, meaning I don't LOVE it, thus I give it away! ❤
I started doing this too! Helps a lot with clothes because ny sisters do sometimes show interest in my clothes and when it feels right, it’s so easy to just say please, take it!
I discovered your chanel recently and watched one video a day to motivate me to declutter. I then put on a 10min timer on my iPhone and played my favourite songs on Spotify. When the ten minutes are up, the music stopped playing and I’m done with my decluttering for the day. It started as a 30 day challenge, but felt more like a habit now..😊
Thank you so much for posting. I needed this. I am a former caregiver of my elderly parents who recently passed. Both had debilitating illnesses at the same time which was overwhelming for me but I am very grateful I was able to be there 24 hours everyday to care for them at the same time through the grace of God at their home (which I inherited). To deal with the stress (and grief) as they were in their final days and hours during hospice at home, I started decluttering their things (since I couldn't go easily anywhere during this critical time) but stopped decluttering after they passed. I was too burned out physically, emotionally and mentally to do anything, only the bare minimum of daily responsibilities (sometimes not even that). It was 5 years of intensive caregiving. I'm now ready to start and have but needed strategies to declutter faster. You're video has great tips and will help me a great deal. Especially now that I have 8 rescued dogs that I care for and have plenty of space inside and outside to live comfortably with me. Between work (remote at home) and caring for them, my time can be limited. Thanks for the inspiration and reminder that at least 15 minutes a day... It can be done. I will gladly give up stuff but not my dogs who bring me so much joy and keep me active walking each of them. They deserve a loving home and happy/healthy life with me after being abused, neglected and dumped on the streets (emancipated) without mercy by their previous owners. One of them was able to wag her tail again and trust me after three years of rehabilitation. Thanks again!
My decluttering story: no kids. Currently decluttering my moms flat and my flat. And for the rest of my life, doesnt matter if long or short, im devoting my time, energy, space and money to myself. Healing myself from all the trauma i endured. Not producing more mess.
This is honestly the only channel I have ever watched that makes decluttering and its process relatable. Every other channel I have seen has this distance to them, as if the content creator is a somewhat different 'breed' from other people, where they now have accomplished 'their everything' and now it's your turn. I can't seem to connect to that. Also, the vibe in your videos is very pleasant, and I look forward to new videos. You're doing really good.
Today is day 3 of full day of decluttering, cleaning and organising the house and I am feeling SO good! Thank you for giving me the motivation to start. It’s not been the easiest couple months as my husband lost his job and my work is seasonal and the winter has been long. But I’m feeling so much better now that the house is (almost) done. I’m already thinking about going through everything again and decluttering again 😂
Recycling all that’s accepted locally and donating helps counteract our seemingly out of control overconsumption. I love keepin’ it out of the landfills!
Perfect timing for these decluttering tips! As professional movers, we always remind our clients that decluttering before a move is one of the best ways to reduce moving costs and stress. The less you need to move, the easier the transition will be. Starting fresh in your new home with only the things you truly need makes the whole experience so much better.
My boyfriend and I just did a huge declutter in preparation for our upcoming move. These are fantastic tips and you made me realize there's even more stuff in my closet I don't wear or want! Now I just need to work really hard with the impulse buying.
I swear nothing beats the point you mentioned about sustainable recycling and items piling up with regards to mental health. This is something I wish I had known four years ago. Back then I was trying to get into minimalism and zero waste. Half way through i gave up because i was struggling mentally badly. Yes, nothing matters more than you and your mental health. Even if your needs don't fall into the box of any lifestyle you follow, it's important to meet the needs all the same.
I get how good it feels to get rid of things. For me I think it’s wasteful to get rid of things (partially used tubes of things, like sunscreen) that are still useful. I keep them but try to use them up right away. This avoids adding more to trash over time and saves money. I push myself to be a sustainable declutterer.
I get that but she said her kids have eczema and the old stuff they tried, caused issues. As someone who has walked that walk, it was a relief to toss things I hoped would work but caused reaction. They were painful reminders of a worse time before finding a sustainable solution forward.
I agree with both POV, I just think she could have given those products to someone else. They bothered her kids eczema skin but doesn’t mean someone else could get use of it.
Love that. Manage your stuff and don't get rid of it. Of course it is easy to get a garbage bag and get going ...our superficial society likes it easy. We think we love ourselves by mistreating our things instead of taking care of them. We throw away our friends when we don't feel like they serve ist anymore....Partners are next. And then we wonder why our children go no contact when it is us who told them to do so by how we live. I have no clue how these hardcore minimalists purge and purge and still have things to purge...they must be constantly bringing things in otherwise there can not be sacks and sacks of garbage going on. It is like patients suffering from bulimia explaining to me how good they feel after they throw up....only to make plans on how to binge again soon...🙈 This reminds of them. We call it the Devil's Circle in German. All the comments of how happy it makes to throw away stuff.....what a weird world. Our grandparents would be disgusted, thinking how hard they worked for what we through away everyday. The arrogance and waiting for applause of how empty everything looks. Two hours later borrowing somthing from the neighbours (Like me 😂) because they are so happy they don't need to take care of it anymore....the irony. In it's extreme form it is actually a very selfish, irresponsible and childish way of living. We already produce so much garbage. Don't make more because it makes you feel good. There are better hobbies 😝 Glad you wrote this, and that there are still ppl like this. Hoarding and extreme constant decluttering are two extremes that seem to have a very unhealthy root...
Something about watching these videos that make me start decluttering while I'm listening to it. I like the rehome bucket idea. I wear myself out going back and forth putting things away.
It's so true! I go to the thrift store to drop off stuff & go in to see what they have. I always end up with 1-2 items that I take back home. I never really thought about it!
My house is approaching horder levels. We have too much space, being partially disabled, working full time and homeschooling our yougest, it became easy to stuff it in an empty room. So today, we unpacked ONE of the rooms. I like the tip to take a picture. I want to see my progress.
That ruthless face! 😂😂😂 Decluttering for almost 5 years... still have some work to do, but the main difference is that now I understand that I no longer need stuff to feel safe.
I’m helping my parents declutter and downsize from their house into a small apartment. They have never decluttered to the level they needed to this time and they had so many excess possessions! It has taken me four solid weeks to help them pack everything up and get rid of as much as I possibly could. The moving truck is coming tomorrow and I know they will need to purge at least another 30-40% of what they have kept in order to fit comfortably into this apartment. Hopefully they will be settled in by Christmas 🤞🏻
Great video! I met a woman who was probably 70 at the time, and she told me how to deal with negativity from people. She said to take a thought and wrap it up on a nice little wrapping paper with a bow and then CHUCK IT IN THE FUCK IT BUCKET! That always stuck with me. In my home I have a large blue fuck it bucket for things I want to get rid of. Some stuff won’t fit in it but most things will fit into my bucket easily.
No sé por qué siento que ver tus videos me traen una paz inmensa, es como si fuera una terapia, de que no podemos permitir que nada nos agobie y que la solución a veces puede ser tan fácil. Tus consejos para mi son una joya 💎. Bendiciones 🙏🏻
I work full time so minimal time for decluttering. I've started doing a trash sweep on the day before, or morning of, garbage collection. With all the recycling we do, we usually have room left over in the trash can. It's not much, but it's better than no decluttering at all.
Also adopted the declutering bag where I put things as I no longer want or don't fit. This has been super helpful with my daughter's clothes because every time she puts something one that it no longer fits her right it goes straight in the bag. Also with my things. It's amazing how it piles up. Thanks for more great advice. Take care fams 🤗🤗🤗🤗💜💜💜💜
Thanks for these tips! I have donated 6 trash bags full of stuff to the thrift store with more going out soon! These tips will help with the last of the stuff! Being ruthless has been my mindset this time around! A few years ago I decluttered so much stuff and lived more minimalist but we moved from Kansas back to Georgia and I have gotten into the bad habit of retail therapy to help with depression(Thankfully I decided to go on some medicine which is helping)and so we have way to much stuff now!
Funnily enough, right after this video the bathroom light shorted and sparked due to shoddy electrical work - husband had to fix it ASAP so we didn’t get burned to crisps. 🙃😭 Thanks so much for watching!
Great reminders! On a side note, I don’t know how much you like rugs or blankets, but in the large spaces you have, they can make a huge difference in reducing the echo (without creating clutter). ☺️
The Canadian Diabetes Association has bins in local parking lots for donating clothes, but I discovered that they will pick, at my door, any clothes or small household items. This has made it SO easy to get stuff out of my house.
The rehome bin is brilliant! I can't tell you how many times I get stuck because hubs is in bed and there's stuff that I can't put away OR I go to put something away in another room and I don't make it back to finish the original room. Can't wait to try this one out!
That one trap i fall into while decluttering is when i pass by my kitchen and see dishes on the sink i have this tendency to wash the dishes and get distracted on my decluttering around the house. Thanks! Thanks for the wise tips! Focus😅❤
Once Christmas is over, I'm going to declutter one room at a time. I'm starting with my study space. I have books, yarn, and other things that I just don't use. Decluttering will be challenging but worth it. I also use the trash bag method! :) I guess I already started and didn't even know it.
I’m really trying to make decluttering fun, but really struggling with the mess that my house has become. It’s totally time to fix it. I love turning on music. It really helps make the time go faster, and I’m definitely going to use the tip to set a timer.I feel so overwhelmed with so many rooms that I think a time will really help not make it feel so overwhelming. Oh, and by the way, you have a beautiful home!
After watching your video, I decluttered for about 15 minutes (my timer has been my current three fav songs) and it was so satisfying! My big trash bag is nearly half full and I am so proud of myself. It has been a hard day and this little task helped me. Thanks a lot for your content! 💪
New camera? Your picture is crystal clear and wonderful color. Best I’ve ever seen on TH-cam ever. I usually don’t notice but something in this video is amazing.
Thanks for remotivating me. I’m so used to decluttering being a part of my life now that I really question things before I buy them now because I don’t want to have to declutter them again soon. Things need to last a long time for me to want to buy them. Your point about just taking a peek though, that really is my downfall, I can’t resist seeing if I can find something but I must resist the urge more. The prices in charity shops are now almost the same as buying new so that has helped though as it stops me getting loads.
I have to say, I think this year is the year I pair back even more. I’ve gotten ride of over half the kids toys, with their help, yesterday. And I finish it up tomorrow. This includes the kids books too. After that job, I want to focus on the kitchen, and get that sorted, where we’re going to sell all our Tupperware heat and eats. We find we prefer ones that we can see the food inside. Labels help, but my husband and I are both visual people, so need to see the food.
I don’t know you, or anything about why you have loads of sentimental items, but I lost a sibling and a lot of other family all at once in my early twenties. I took an item of clothing of each of them to keep, it’s ok to fold them and put them away out of sight, you don’t have to be a robot and keep nothing to have a clean home, keep the things that mean something to you, look for a creative way to store them or display them. I have framed the front of a tshirt before to keep it when I didn’t plan to wear it.
I'm so glad I came across your channel! Marie Kondo changed my life a few years back. I enjoy playing your videos while I clean and organize my home- they keep me company and keep me motivated 😀 Thank you!
Thank you for making this video. Plenty of people who de-clutter advise to throw away stuff you have not worn in 6 months. NO I need coats, warm hats and winter items. I live in Texas and it is warm most of the time, yet we can have cold days in winter so I will not throw away or donate my seasonal clothing that I have not used for 6 months, winter coats are expensive. I am at this time unpacking my seasonal winter sweaters and “warms”. I have an old historical house with no natural closets. One room upstairs has a closet like area with a shelf and downstairs has 2 small closets under the staircase. My heart doctor wants me to loose weight and given me medication so I will not throw away my 1 size smaller clothing that I love. I already have lost weight and gifted an donated my larger clothing that does not fit. At one time I was on cancer hormone killing meds and I could not loose weight. I am off the meds and my weight is so much better. As I unpack stuff I am getting rid of stuff as much as possible.
When I decided I need some time to declutter or clean I put on one of your videos so my mind is on the same page as my goal. It has helped me a lot as long as I don't get destracted to clean up when my goal is to be decluttering. But some day I am going to be able to both focus and having a minimalistic home.
I am so thankful that I found You here on You Tube! I just started watching this video and hearing this message, and it has already helped Me think differently about the inflow of clutter! Thank You Thank You Thank You🙏✝️❤
Thank you so much for your great ideas. 👍 I will try them all. My present life is full of "the clutter of the unnecessary" 😒 All these beautiful piles have not brought happiness, only added stress. I will now not sell the items but just bless others with all this stuff. My peacefulness is more important than making extra money, that I may end up spending at great second-hand stores. Re-give, refresh and renew my calm. Blessings to you for your awesome encouragement 🙏 ❤️ 🙌
The crap basket helps with FIFO inventory control - broken and outdated stuff go out, new stuff comes into the home, but always on a 1:1 basis. It helps to make me aware of what's going out and to stop me from buying junk. Tech heads like me have way too many cables and adapters lying around...
Thank you!!! I really needed new input to figure this out faster. I'm still spring cleaning. I just want to enjoy summer. You're amazing! Please keep making videos like this! :) I love the inspiration!
I’m enjoying your tips and I’m going to try some of them. The 15 minute tip I picked up back in the 80s by an author named Emily Barnes. I’m still using that today, especially when I have let stuff pile up because I’m so busy sometimes with life. I taught my daughter this and she uses it as well. Thanks for sharing your wealth of knowledge. Toni in Colorado
Hello from Chicago!!!!🎉🎉🎉 I don’t use the re-home box because I actually will leave the things that need to go somewhere else in there for ever 😂 Love your videos, thank you for sharing 👍

BEST DECLUTTER VIDEO EVER! I have watched a lot, and you really make sense and just to see you throw away half ful containers makes me feel like, ok its ok. I think one feel you are wasting, but the amount just overwhelms you. I just need to get started to get areas cleared for my own memtal health and then worry about donating and selling etc. That is what kept me going in circles and get overwhelmed at "am I being wasteful, people can use this, but I dont have the time now to go everywhere it "can go/be used". My mom passed and her things overflew my home. I need to get my sanity back, but holding onto everything for "what if"...
As someone who makes a living by thrifting items from thrift stores, Goodwill etc to resell on eBay, Poshmark, Mercari & Facebook. It is really hard for us to find good items in great condition, so we really need everyone to donate! You can also make really good money by listing the items you find in your home. When an item sells, you just print a label and have USPS come pick it up! I have a lot of trouble holding on to items because I think it will eventually sell though, so be careful about that!
Hello! I really appreciate the quotations and different laws that you site here. In my opinion, it gives the video more credibility and a " researched" feeling. Thank you for your content
Marissa! It’s so wonderful to see you back doing videos. Loved this one as much as all your others. I’m always excited to see how you’re able to top your last video and inspire me yet again. 😊 Btw, your house looks great. The kitchen turned out lovely.

I agree!!!!!!!! ❤

I was just about to comment on the same thing at moment 5:51 in the video. That was gold.
I really like ur exsamples for cleaning homes❤️
How true that is
1. Stop the inflow
2. Trash sweep
3. Stay focused on decluttering
4. Donate more instead of selling
5. 80/20 rule : tackle high impact areas
6. Be ruthless
7. Create clutter drop zones
8. Set a timer
9. Use a rehome box
10. Make decluttering fun!
Selling on line just prolongs the clutter. Agree with you.

I do this as well
My psychiatrist told me the reason of my accumulation of stuff (CLOSE TO HOARDING) was because of my losses I had in my life.
I have to get in the right mental space and just do it
Ooh your reasons resonate with me too! Good luck!
They'll suck you dry.
i Totally agree: "Don't put your stuff on a pedestal above your own mental health and happiness." We can do it! ❤ 💪🏻
I don’t know exactly how, but you can take me from completely unmotivated and complacent to motivated and inspired every video. Thank you.
💪✨❤️
Agree!!
Notes for me -
1. Keep a trash bag handy and keep putting things in it without worrying about organising/cleaning.
2. Create a drop zone.
3. Donate what’s not needed.
4. Set a timer
5. Re homing basket to put things at their place later.
6. Listen to TH-cam / podcasts.
7. Before and after pictures.
How long you set the timer for?
And its ok to toss something if its for your own mental health.
@@michelleburdick4750 whatever suits you. I set the timer from 5 minutes to 15 minutes, whatever is my mood
Little guy... hope he feels better! 🙏
Talking about overwhelming... we evacuated from the hurricane just recently and had to relocate for a while...
It surely puts everything in perspective... when nothing that is replaceable truly matters, as long as we're all fine 🙂
Thank you and your point is so important! I’m glad everyone is safe and take care 🙏
❤️
Thank you for sharing your story. I am decluuttering as part of the grieving process, which goes beyond getting rid of stuff to have a nicer looking home.
I've always been pretty minimalist & want to do a massive declutter. Unfortunately, my husband likes to hold onto almost everything for "just in case" due to previous hardships he's been through. Hope to find a balance ♡
That’s me in case I need it. I have too much stuff and need to begin
that's me toooo...god help us find the strength to let-go
How true about stopping the inflow of clutter!
It started as a 30 day challenge, but felt more like a habit now..😊
That’s a fantastic way to develop good habits 👏
Yes! That's speaking 🤍
You got this!
Good luck. Stay happy & healrhy🎉
What trauma?
You've got this!
This is one of the nicest things I’ve ever heard - thank you for your kindness and support 🥹

Yes stopping the inflow has been key. 💪We can do it!
Fully agree. It's amazing all things that are wasted. However, it takes so much more time than throwing them away..... regards from France
I utilise old or not good for my skin creams to polish my leather shoes/bag. :)

I now only go into a store if I actually need something particular, never “to see what they have”.
Go to a drop off place with no store.
“You deserve a life full of yeses!” Love that!
Glad you liked my ruthless face 😈. I’m so glad you’re in a good place with your progress!
I'm going to replace the garbage bag with a wheelbarrow and go declutter my yard!! So glad I watched this!!!
Lol...So CUTE that you get family sneaking through...not realizing you're recording. Adorably genuine!🎉❤
Wishing both you and your parents the best of luck with their decluttering and downsizing! 💪
Decluttered my dining area while watching your video 💪. So glad to have you back Marissa, you are inspiring.
Every minimalist has the same brown leather couch 😆 But I still love the tips, it motivates me to declutter. It also makes me rethink what I buy
I don’t necessarily enjoy cleaning but I massively enjoy decluttering n organizing. It’s a real thrill getting things in order.
I love taking before and after pics!

Lovely to see The Velveteen Rabbit on your shelf 😊
I kept pausing your video going to “go do it now spot declutters” and coming back. Thank you! ❤️🇨🇦
Great habit! 💪
I work full time so minimal time for decluttering. I've started doing a trash sweep on the day before, or morning of, garbage collection. With all the recycling we do, we usually have room left over in the trash can. It's not much, but it's better than no decluttering at all.
I love your looks just like your home. Clean, tidy and pretty. Thanks for the tips!
I'm floored at what you consider clutter. Your house is spotless!
You really hit the nail on the head with this video! "Don't put your stuff on a pedestal above your own mental health and happiness." We can do it! ️
Thank you. This motivates me and gets me from "this is not possible" to yes this is manageable. 💪🏻

Also I love your channel!
firehouse and pool analogy YEEESS! I love how your life noises and hazards are in your videos, makes it relatable.
Wow, that’s great for people without vehicles or mobility impairments - thanks for sharing!
So does the Canadian Cerebral Palsy org pick up stuff at your door.
Omg yes yes yes! That's exactly what we did. Donate in the back and the run to the front to pick up!
very smart, realistic, helpful, motivating, encouraging...thank you
The rehome bin is brilliant! I can't tell you how many times I get stuck because hubs is in bed and there's stuff that I can't put away OR I go to put something away in another room and I don't make it back to finish the original room. Can't wait to try this one out!
Wow, I love that quote from Peter Walsh. Thanks for this video! ❤️
Omg also a Chicago gal living in Germany! Thanks for the tips!
And do you just toss it in the bin, right? Even if its useful linchboxes etc? Oh here I go again😅I feel so guilty for tossing usefull things
I love the artwork above the dining room table.
It's the sentimental things I love that I find the hardest to part with.
And I have so many of them
I don’t know you, or anything about why you have loads of sentimental items, but I lost a sibling and a lot of other family all at once in my early twenties.
I'm so glad you are back
I'm so glad I came across your channel! Marie Kondo changed my life a few years back. I enjoy playing your videos while I clean and organize my home- they keep me company and keep me motivated 😀 Thank you!

Clutter drop zone create!! Woop woop

Thank you for helping me get rid of my stuff and having a clean declutter home it looks more beautiful and peaceful ❤

Your video was helpful . I skipped so many other people doing declutters. They made it about their life and clothes and personal . ..
Its so nice to have you back! I so look forward to your weekly video :)

I love your home! So clean and beautiful. It looks peaceful ❤
simple yet impactful.. thank you so much. This was very helpful !
Hello! I really appreciate the quotations and different laws that you site here. In my opinion, it gives the video more credibility and a " researched" feeling. Thank you for your content
