amazing vocal range amazing harmonies on ariana and kelly they are so amazing. I love how they use their whole bodies to sing and dance. I love the hand movements. I love the brightness.
kelly is a very generous singer and she lets her duo partner shine while holding her own
The other way around, ariana was holding back her 5 octave range, developed head voice/falsetto/whistles/high belts, supported unstrained technique because she was in duo partner's own show...
@grandetristesse3370 that just shows how they're both so amazing that they share the limelight. They're two of my all time favorite vocalists from the 21st century.
@@grandetristesse3370it’s not the other way around, Kelly can do whistle notes too and has a much STRONGER range even if it isn’t as high, they’re both great singers but this is Kelly’s song so she’s the one being generous. Ariana clearly wasn’t holding back when she was damn near on her knees on one of the notes. They’re both great but Kelly has power Ariana can’t have because of her high tone and Ariana has a falsetto range Kelly can’t have because of her thick strong tone, at the end they balance each other off and they both supported each other.
My voice teacher called people like these two 'Syrens.' they lead you into a place oof confidence; where they so effortlessly sing that it makes you believe you can do the same thing. then when you try to do what they're doing you realize...they've devoured you. in other words, some vocalists make is look so easy that they make you believe you can do it too.
I love this song and also your enthusiasm for it! Kelly's voice blows me away in this song and her and Ariana go so well together

If I didn’t know any better, I would think they practiced this a ton. It’s pretty incredible that this was the first time they ever sang this together, aside from recording it, if they even did it together then. They could have recorded it separately, I don’t know. They do sound really good together. I’m more of a Kelly Clarkson fan (for transparency she’s my favorite vocalist), nothing against Ariana, she’s an incredible singer too. I just prefer the kind of music Kelly does. That’s all that comes down to. I was excited when I found they did a song together. It’s a good song IMO too. Great reaction. I always wonder what vocal coaches think about singers like Kelly & Ariana.
They practiced loads!!!! There is no way they hadn't sung this together before. I think it was the first live performance. Obviously when you are that good the rehearsals for the recording is often enough. ;)
@@ZoeStibiVocalCoach they said in an interview they never got the chance to practice though, they were too busy with the voice and other stuff. I think they just stuck to the studio version of the song and went with it 😅

FYI... They both happen to be 5'3". Granda tends to get her voice from her head where as Kelly taps into the chest and head for her voice. Thus increases Kellys range and control.
I hadn’t heard Kelly sing since her American Idol days, but she sounds fantastic! Ari is amazing.....

Love these two together! I could listen to a whole cd of them. They were awesome together on jimmy fallon’s new show. You can see they are great friends and admire each other.

Some coaches have spoken about how your facial features play a part too. So if you’ve got bigger or broader features[Which I think Kelly has compared to Ariana ], or a bigger broader neck or something, it could contribute to you having a voice that has more depth or power.
This is just pure positive energy. This is the definition of positive energy! Just look at the band; how happy they look, everybody just smiling, and having a really really good time! I'm not a person that get envious, but this..omg. This I envy - in a positive manner - everyone in that studio for, getting to see this Live!

I'm a big Kelly clarkson fan and prefer her music, Ariana isn't really my style but god dam she has the voice of an angel, a voice like no other.

Love both of these ladies' voices. Have you ever done an analyses and reaction video on Barbra Streisand? There's two great duets Barbra does [actually there are many], one with Celine Dion (Tell Him) and another with Donna Summer (Enough of Enough), and the latter one Barbra performed live, 40 years later, with Ariana Grande. Would be great to hear your take on Barbra...imo the GOAT.
The best harmonizer in the world at this moment is for sure Kelly! She always wanted to be a backup singer and she knows how to do it and her duets is a proof of this.
She is awesome! Actually harmonising is an essential skill for singers, I am sure Ari is great at it too 🙂

Ariana is 29 at this time and just like everyone else her instrument has slightly aged which is where I think that bit of grit is coming from. I prefer Ariana’s delivery, giving soft and angelic, but also strong powerful belts. Such an amazing performance !
Ariana started using the rasp voice in her songs since 2020 ❤️ it's intentional ❤️

A lot of people believe Ariana’s little vocal breaks or rasp are intentional. As in she’s putting a little pressure for some dynamics to her vocal
Her rasp is definitely on purpose she adds it in most of her mid belt this year back in 2018 she use it in the F#5 at the end of god is a woman but she never use it in her upper belts
Yes it is obviously intentional to give her sound a little bit of a color
@Swami Holland her rasp is intentional and that was her first time performing it live on national tv so she was nervous and she was tired from talking on the voice a lot all she needs is rest she's fine

It’s intentional. She was doing it for months before starting the voice she can turn it on and off.

hey there! i love singing pop and im getting used to my mix but im just confused sometimes. for higher notes like E or F5 + when we mix, do we need to include nasality or do we use the pinch nose test where we know that the voice feels like its coming from the back of the mouth and definitely not through the nose?

It is also a size difference. Kelly is bigger in stature and Ari is very small. It is just one of the things. ;)
Ariana isn't even 5'2, Gaga is 5'2 and Ariana is shorter. But she is taller than Kristin Chenoweth, who is 4'11.

I’m going to preface this and say Ariana is really talented, but her voice sounds like she has a cold or something. There’s something about it lol. Now Kelly is out of this world with her power and pronunciation is perfection. I love Kelly 🥰😍🥰

@wifi539 right? Every vocalist won't sound the same and it is dependent on so many factors. Mostly on how they use their voice with their throats. Ariana is one of the best talents to come out of a TV show and her vocal ability is one of my favorites next to Kelly Clarkson

Really only that much difference? Are you sure? Treading lightly around the topic of Kelly being a slightly bigger build than Ariana. Not weight wise but general size, Ari is teeny tiny and Kelly is just bigger in her skeleton. That can play a huge role.

Both women are 5'3" tall. Kelly has a taller voice...LOL!
It has a lot to do with size as well. Kelly is just overall a slightly bigger person than Arianna. However this has nothing to do with weight, their Larynxgies could However be exactly the same size, I have no idea, it was just an observation 😉
