THANK YOU!! For yet another block that we can make! It is a lil' different, but so charming....LOVE the baby quilt in the soft colors too. You are our STAR Jenny! Quilting fan of yours!
Hi Jenny, to ensure of no 'boo boos' when you are cutting along the lines of the back of the squares, if you mark them first and make a small snip in the centre first, voila, no problems with cutting out to the corners. Hugs Naomi from Australia
this is indeed, a very cool block to make, easy peasy. but better yet, was jenny. she is a great teacher, very clear, slow speech which was easy to hear and understand. also, she was very organized. she assumed we knew nothing, and took us thru the block, baby step by baby step until it was done. excellent teaching. (i should know, i've been a teacher for 35 years). the videography was also excellent. it was centered, had good resolution and was not jumpy. congratulations on a tutorial that should be used as an example to others of how to do it right! ellen
I could sit and watch you all day make these blocks. Your the master in my opinion. Have learned so much from you yet I have so much fun watching. Keep up the good work. Love it and you and your company.
Dear Jenny thank you so much for this tutorial. I was having a hard time trying to make this same block. I wanted to make my daughter a "daughters quilt" and because of you once I made the blocks I was off and running,I am just a beginner quilter and what I know I learned from you and several others, thank you
That was fantastic video what a darling block. I’m in new to the site I-love you all. I have Jenny on all day and night. You’re a very talented lady and you’ve shown me so many tricks over the last month. I was so ready to start doing something besides masks.
Great! Jenny I hope you gave the lady a hug on behalf of all of us! Tomorrow is quilt day with my 4 sisters and niece - I am so demonstrating this block to them - they will love it!
Thanks Jenny for another excellent block tutorial. I finished my last quilt about 3 weeks ago. I made your "Disappearing Hourglass Quilt" and loved how it turned out. Since then I've been helping my wife with some of her sewing needs just doing small projects. Then low and behold I ran into another one of your blocks the other night on the net. The "Exploding Block Quilt". I absolutely love this block and how the blocks look put together. So once again, I've jumped on board the quilting wagon to make another quilt. You and your teams the best. Thanks for putting out these wonderful tutorials for all of us. I'll be starting this one tonight!
Love this block. It is simple enough to use with my boys who are learning to use my sewing machine. You can't go wrong with a straight stitch. I can imagine using 2 maybe 3 fabrics of their choice and having them create their own quilts in no time. Thanks for the video
Oh my gosh Jenny you have did it again I am so not a quilter I am a crochet but you just keep blowing my mind with these blocks they are so easy you make them look easy and it makes me feel like I can do it and when I do it I do it just like you in my quilts come out so pretty thank you so much for your simplicity.
Can't wait to get out my Cakes and make this "Expanding / Explosion quilt. Looks difficult but watching a block actually sewn its positively simple. THANK YOU again for sharing your talents.
Oh boy... another one to keep in my head fro when I'm staring at my 40yrs of "stash" and thinking... GET GOING!!!! You don't want to leave this for someone else to use up!!!! :) GrammaBabs :)
HOLY WOW!!! This is WAY easier - and faster - than using the square-in-a-square ruler method that I have been using all these years. That's it - I'm totally switching to this method from now on! Thank you, Jenny. By the way, I love your tutorials...I look forward to seeing them each week in my inbox and I'm constantly sharing them, as well :)
That's fabulous Jenny! Minutes before I had been looking at something very similar on another video but it involved cutting individual small squares and triangles!!! I would have gone crazy trying to cut out all these pieces so I thought this was something I would never be able to make. But now, this will be my next project. Thanks again.
WOW. I’ve been struggling with how to assemble the blocks for my brother’s quilt that has a fishing theme and wanted to include complimentary colors for sashing etc. Nothing has “worked” and then I stumbled across this phenomenal method. I’ve been a fan for years (have my first Christmas box this year…awesome!) and this is the first time I’ve seen this video! Thank you thank you thank you 🥰🥰🥰. Prayers answered!!!
Good grief! How in the world do people keep coming up with these WONDERFUL ideas? Thank you for sharing with those of us who are "creative challanged!" I can "copy" just not so good at coming up with these new processes!
Jenny I love this, I will call on the friends to come round for an evening of cutting and ironing, I will do all the sewing, lucky me. I think a team of workers will make this very fast. Thanks
Your amazing quilt tutorials inspired me to suggest a mini challenge to our quilt guild. Selecting a tradional block, create a whole new block by cutting it in whatever way you desire, moving pices around and sew it back together again. But each person has to write up what they started with and how they altered the block to come up with their own personal block. Looking forward to a large selection of new blocks, should be interesting.
Oh, my goodness! I watched and ran to my sewing room. I added 3 more rounds and sashing and now have a pillow out of leftover fabrics from the quilt on my bed. This will be my demo at quilt guild when it is my turn again to demonstrate something. No one is going to believe how easy this is when I show the pillow.
That is so clever and lovely. I am going to try and work it out for a 12" block for my Sewing club. Always looking for new blocks that aren't too difficult so thank you Jenny.
Our quilting circle actually showed me this block and they called it the exploding pineapple. We made several hospice quilts using this fun block. I love your tutes and you Jenny.
