AN ABUNDANT HARVEST AFTER MOTHER NATURE’S WRATH

- I needed to be in the garden this day for several reasons. One being the obvious that things needed to be harvested. The other reason…the day before we had record breaking 6 inches of rain that flooded our basement (and barn).
I often retreat to my garden when I need to calm myself, clear my head, think without noise…
It’s a magical place for me and when I leave I have baskets of food that we are so grateful for and never take for granted. 💜

All the different varieties of tomatoes is just beautiful! Thank you 👧🏻
Thanks Lyn 💜 It’s taken me a few years to find the ones I really like and I still try a few new ones every year 😉
Morning Colleen! I'm so sorry to hear about your basement. I hope everything will be back to normal soon. Looks like another big harvest in spite of the rain. I'm glad it wasn't hard rain. Your flowers are doing so well and are so pretty. A bright spot in your garden and a spirit lifter for your soul. Blessings indeed! Praying for both of you! Blessings sweet friends! 💙💙💙
Thanks Carolyn 💜 That’s exactly why I go to the garden..for my soul 🙏
I needed that before I dealt with the flooding. Thank you for your prayers and blessings to you and S 💜

Sending prayers. Your garden will still produce for you. That is good. Hopefully the structures will be an easier fix.
Thank you 💜 Yes everything will be fine. Compared to others we are very very fortunate 🙏
For your little critters.... 5 gallon bucket filled 2/3rds with water and a handful of black oil sunflower seeds placed in the garden with a little wood plank that will act like a ramp for the little critter to get to the top of the bucket. Check every day. Refresh water and seeds as needed.
Your garden is beautiful. Keep up the good work. I hope your basement is fine and you have no more issues with it.
Maybe I’ll try that because I’ve tried live traps, real traps and they seem to avoid everything 😡 Thank you!
Hi Colleen, I do hope you and Frank have managed to sort the basement and the barn out. It's devastating, when you both work so hard, to have this kind of thing happen. I pray for you that it will be a 'one of' event. On the brighter side, look at that wonderful harvest. I'm looking forward to seeing what you will do with all those peppers. I'm coming to the tail end of winter here and am dreaming of the abundance that our garden will produce in the coming months. Take care my friend.
Thank you so much Fiona 💜 The basement is almost back to normal. Part of it we don’t the long term effects yet. I’m looking up new recipes for the cubanel peppers just to try something new 😋
Dreaming of the garden helps us get through the long winter months and I hope and pray your garden gives you many abundant harvests! Take care to you too ☺️
So happy that your garden did not get to much damage 🥰Sorry to hear about your basement flooding. Great to be out in the garden and gathering a beautiful harvest 🙂
Thank you 💜 After what I saw in Montreal I will consider ourselves lucky🙏
Beautiful Garden 🤍🕊
Thank you Deanna 💜
Your garden is beautiful ...
Thank you so much 💜
Your flowers are gorgeous!!! So glad you didn't get too much damage in the garden, other than the pest type. I might have to try those Cubanel peppers next year, I like the way they look and they sound yummy! I love the yellow pear tomatoes, didn't plant any this year and kind of missed them!
Thank you Carmen 💜 If I had to pick only two peppers to grow it would be cubanel and ajvarski! The yellow pear is great (and pretty 😉)
Love your garden and love your channel. New sub!
Thank you so much 💜 We’re so happy you’re here!
Be careful when you seed save peppers , they cross pollinate, so a sweet pepper could turn out quite hot the next year. I found out the hard way 😂
I try and take the seeds from the middle plants..ex:if I have 5 cubanel I’ll take seeds from the 3rd plant. So far I’ve been lucky. Hot peppers are at the end of each row
Put the squashes and mellons inside a pantyhose.critters wont touch them and they can keep growing and ripenning. Havent had to myself yet, but saw a homesteader do it 🤔tomatoes are regular Roma / amish paste .thats what i grow for my sauces
Omg Nicole! What a great idea 😃 I’ve never seen that before. I’ll go to the $ store tomorrow and get some. Thank you 💜
Nice harvest😊. How is the basement a lot off damage? 🙏
Thanks Conny 💜 Frank has completely cleaned up what he can. The water was well above his ankles. I don’t know the long term effect it will have on my fridge, freezers, washer and dryer and of course all the places you can’t see or get to….
perhaps Frank can get them raiseed ( fridge freezer)onto cement blocks so they off the ground in case it happens again? God forbid that though.
Blessings from Cape Town ❤
@antheapayne9416 That’s a great idea unfortunately those appliances are in an unfinished part of our basement that has very low ceilings. I really appreciate the thought though 💜
The one in your hand is pointy . You’ll know when you taste the others
Sorry Belinda, not quite sure what you mean?
