And holy moly some of those Crystal formations were pretty vivid. The one looked like it exploded and froze in place after about one tenth of a second. Beautiful.
Im a plumber by trade and I get in some tight holes, but you guys must just be CRAZY!!! Im claustrophobic just watching! Very cool stuff. And some beautiful formaions Id never see otherwise. Thanks for some good video of the rare stuff.
I live in the ozark mountain region of the US. Ive got alot of friends that know of a few if not several unexplored caves. Unexplored by professionals anyway
Man fuck this for so many reasons. Like I enjoy a sense of adventure but holy shit being stuck between rock in the goddamn dark is not what I want to do
Do cavers experience the same cameraderie as miners? Miners say they never experienced anything like it even when working in other dangerous environments such as a building site or the military. How often do cavers find archaeological artefacts or bones. Is it common?
***** Thanks again for the great comment. The 2014 Best Bits is being edited a the moment and should be ready by the end of the year. Meanwhile there is a preview at th-cam.com/video/Jp0FUpsy0e8/w-d-xo.html. This one will contain a top tip for getting people through tight sections.
Wow, amazing footage Mr. Edwards. I am not a caver and I don't fancy becoming one after seeing some of those sqeezes, I'll stick to Thai boxing as my recreational hobby, seems a lot safer
Foam is created as decomposing plants and animals release organic compounds into the water. The compounds reduce the surface tension of water, causing bubbles to form.
Are spelunkers and cavers the same thing? I have a strange fascination with this stuff and would like to get into some sort of beginners program. I always wonder when I watch these, who the 1st person was go in some of these passages to dictate such difficulty of the cave, and/or if it is even possible.
This is even worse than the daredevils running and jumping on skyscrapers. They miss, and it's over in 10 seconds. You get stuck down there, and you suffer in pain and fear for days before you die.
Nope. No way. How do you get out?! Head first or feet first backing out? I'd like to see a video on you guys getting out. Clearly not for the claustrophobic.
More often than not there is somewhere to turn around but we do sometimes have to back out feet first. Backing is not easy as clothes tend to bunch up. We will have to do a backing out video sometime.
Keith Edwards ---- Probably a silly question, but how do you know the oxygen levels will be sufficient when you get further into some of these caves? Has anyone ever passed out? Thanks for sharing this awesome content. It's not for me, but I do enjoy watching. ATB

Seen most of your videos now, they are absolutely class. You have balls of absolute steel to go in half of those caves. Haha.
Thanks for watching the videos and I'm pleased you like them. The prerequisite for tackling most of these caves is to have very little brain.
I get such a huge adrenaline rush just watching your videos
Love the highlights so much! You are all awesome! I have watched and watched again!
Mary Helen me to it's so addicting.

dan tannehill Thanks for taking the time to watch. You are right, we are all totally mad.

Can I ask the obvious?
Why do you do it?
What is in it for you?
Really awesome. Great choice of music to go with it .... REALLY enjoyed it. First class :o)
i am loving the videos! keep up the good work!
Henry Collins making these videos is tremendous fun, but I'm amazed at the number of people who watch them.
Thanks Mark. It would be good to get some more bits of DYO filmed.
Those guys are insane... what a strong minds. I never be able to do this... never.
UF. !!! ... from PORTUGAL; BIG HUGS.
Thanks Chris. We seem to do little else these days but South Wales caves!
Man fuck this for so many reasons. Like I enjoy a sense of adventure but holy shit being stuck between rock in the goddamn dark is not what I want to do

you guys are fuggin brave, I can barely even watch any of this, especially the tight cave
Brave or stupid. Sometimes I wonder myself which it is!
i squeezed my way out of one hole and im not going back in to a hard one anytime soon.
Absolutely awesome - next best thing if you can't be there in person!

no thanks, I choose life....
what a phenomenal video! great music
Thanks.
Another good load of clips there!
Id love to do more in wales!
Narrating would be fine, why the music?
i can't tell when you're climbing up or across?
Keith und Freunde
Super Film und tolle Höhlen habt Ihr-sind die alle so nass?
Gruss aus dem Vogtland Ulrich Rahm

I agree it's not for everyone, but I think I'll stick to caving. A martial art sounds much more dangerous.
Music really made the video hard to watch so I just went with the mute button
@ 13:19 What is that grey foamy scum on the water?
Foam is created as decomposing plants and animals release organic compounds into the water. The compounds reduce the surface tension of water, causing bubbles to form.
Awesome video!!! I wish my caving videos came out half as good as yours!
Thanks for the great comment.

Spelunking is what Americans call caving.
Mark is a beast
Nossa incríveis muito bom 👍👍👍👍😎
Obrigada
Iv seen those formations at my local swimming pool.
11:50 says it all...this is absolutely nope for me and I dont suufer from claustrophobia...
really want to do this but dont know of any caves where i am based in the north east of england
+the wizard The nearest caving region to you I s the Yorkshire Dales. Have a look at trycaving.org.uk to find a local Caving Club.
Yes I'm still making caving videos but it may be a little time before I film the next one.
difficult watching. i can't stand seeing or feeling of getting stuck in a cave worth thing ever.
Norman Smith Hi Norman. I agree that caving is not for everyone, but cavers getting stuck is an extremely rare event.
Keith Edwards lets hope so. I like caves but ones you can walk through.
You are doing, but why am I shivering from fear
Beats me.
So, how many lumens is enough lumens for caving?
For a helmet lamp between 200 and 1000 lumens. To take video we have used up to 20,000 lumens.
I developed acute claustrophobia watching this.
Thanks. Doing a compilation was good. It meant that I didn't have to go caving to take any more video.
This is even worse than the daredevils running and jumping on skyscrapers. They miss, and it's over in 10 seconds. You get stuck down there, and you suffer in pain and fear for days before you die.
Guess you won't be taking up caving then? 😀
outta curiosity, where are all the bats?
shadowkitty56 Bats are a protected species so we try to disturb then as little as possible, hence they very rarely appear in the videos.
Some of those tight spots gave me flashbacks. Half the times people don't warn me about them in advance to I don't go all chickensh*t and run away. :P
Would have been better without the music. Ended up muting it.
Good for you. Thanks for watching anyway.
all heroes to me
What is that thing moving at 20:14
I think its a gullible
Looks like a Alien landscape down there..
man this looks pretty scary
It's certainly exciting.
From 4:48 , it was so tight
Why?
My god...
before anyone starts caving you should first try to be at the bottom of a rugby scrum. if you don't mind it then caving is for you.
5:20 nope nope nope nope. My idea of hell.
The MOST amount of NOPE!
MalazMerc We do these caves so that others don't have to.
+Keith Edwards (Caver Keith) Well u also encourage some ;)
what a nice
hi
what are the boxes they carry?
Hi. The boxes are waterproof and contain cameras, flash guns, spare batteries and lights.
What if there are monsters in the cave😲
Read the book The Descent by Jeff Long.... I promise you will never consider stepping foot in a cave.
why is no one pointing out the obnoxious heavy metal? why is cave spelunking, at all, metal and hardcore?
Oh wow you're just so clever and witty.
This was a laugh to read. Good stuff
Well to be fair coffee-shop acoustic indie wouldn't be as fitting
Nope. No way. How do you get out?! Head first or feet first backing out? I'd like to see a video on you guys getting out. Clearly not for the claustrophobic.

Keith Edwards I would really love to see that video. Especially if you do one where you can't turn around. You are a brace man for caving like you do.

I'm kind of " digging " the soundtrack.
Cool video but every time I watch these it only serves to remind me how much of a pussy I am. No way am I doing any of that!
and some people say the swiss are bad at naming things
