I've worked at Carowinds during the summer, they tell us to go as fast and safely as we can with dispatching, usually we want to go really fast but the guest sometimes are completely clueless when they leave their brains at the door and go incredibly slow

love Carowinds. Thanks for all that you do, theme parks are a magical place where adults and children can get away from BS for a little bit. Plus i've never feared for my safety at Carowinds, been going there for over twenty years now. Definitely can't say the same for state fairs.

Minty Potato they do about 20 per hour (at least while I was there) so about 200
I saw that at least 1 full row was empty. So all they have to is push the lap bar down all the way. Still great ops

I go to carowinds about every month since i live 2.5 hours away and the dispatches are always super fast! except once when someone was holding their backpack in their lap and they refused to get off and put it in the bin thing xD

One thing to keep in mind is that guests are SLOW. I mean really slow and that often contributes to slow dispatches

I agree. When I was there over the summer, the dispatches on Fury and Intimidator were both crazy fast. I wondered of the ops crews were having a friendly competition to see who was faster.
38 seconds on Fury 325 . . . wow, that's the quickest dispatch time I've seen on any of these "How Fast are operations" videos.
I know people hate the lockers, but it does seem to help with dispatch times. Great Video
This video makes me appreciate the general public in the UK. Over here the get on rides pretty speedy and don't complain about restraints and what not. The ops staff on Nemesis are like Fury's. They get the trains out super fast and can get the ques down to less than 20 mins on extremely busy days.
I remember my first experience with Fury. The team on Fury runs that coaster hard. Kudos to them!
These videos are awesome! Its always amusing to see how fast the operations are. Of course, safery is the main priority, so i can understand some operations can be slow, but its always funny to see it take like 10 minutes to get everyone secured.

wow I didn't know that why didn't you tell me that earlier I've never heard that before
But you can’t just say “cleared for takeoff” because that would result in another major crash because not every air traffic system has gotten permission from base and warning of the incoming takeoff yada yada yada you know

Funny someone mentioned that. When I worked there and it was still called Top Gun, he did say "for" instead of "to". I think it changed after Cedar Fair came in.
Just visited carowinds for the first time last month, front left seat on fury is absolutely fantastic

To be fair there are no bad seats on Fury
It is, I have probably been on the fury over 100 times but I like the left or right seat on any row. I hate the middle seats.
I went to scarowinds for my birthday in 2021 with my parents, my best friend, and her parents. We got the last ride on Fury, right before the park closed for scarowinds at 5:00. We walked in the queue and we were going up that hill in less than 30 seconds. That was the best experience I’ve ever had on a coaster.
this is why I love my home park because they dispatch really fast. I went last week on saturday and fury had stopped the ride for like 4 minutes and we still got on very very quickly. Props to the workers/operators at fury :)

the flying cobras dispatch seemed to be because of riders, so that's an iffy verdict

Report Account all of these dispatch videos are because of operations which includes ride ops, dispatch, and riders. You can’t say a verdict seemed to be iffy because of riders, because riders always have an influence and that’s the point the video is trying to get across.

For being my home park...Carowinds does great on their premiere rides like Fury and Intimidator, but they need work on Flying Cobras and Nighthawk...especially Nighthawk...
i was in the line for the nighthawk right in the morning when it opened and i still had to wait an hour to get on, and it took a while to get everyone in the seats, lay the seats down, and all of that stuff. i have to say it is a very good ride though. :)
i love these vids when the inverts come on because seeing the people's legs going back and forth really fast just makes me laugh
I like this video, because it helps me to know what rides to avoid if I ever go to Carowinds like the one where you lie down on your back and the other one where you stand up-no thanks! 😳😳

That was a very slow time for Afterburn and they usually dispatch a bit quicker. Nighthawk, well, for Nighthawk that's about as good as it gets. Fury325 crew is on point, as they usually are! 👍

I always remember whenever I went nighthawk had very slow operations like around 4 minutes. But then Fury 325 was dispatching trains almost every 30 seconds

My dad and I nicknamed Carolina Goldrusher "The Bee Coaster" because one time when we were riding, we sat at the brake run afterwards for a little bit and it was enough to get a small swarm of carpenter bees flying around. They were about 7-10 feet away and weren't dangerously close to the train, but a group of girls in the rows behind us started flailing and squealing just like Nicholas Cage. It was hilarious! We were stuck next to the bees for about five minutes waiting for the train in the station to dispatch, but we (Dad and I, obviously not the girls!) had this for entertainment while we were waiting!
Oops; I think I just told you the dispatch time, didn't I? ;-) This video's verdict on Goldrusher pretty much sums it up.

When I went in August, Fury, Intimidator, and Afterburn had very quick dispatches. Fury's was almost scary how quickly they dispatched it. Vortex, Carolina Cyclone, and Carolina Goldrusher were not particularly great dispatches, but decent. Hurler, Ricochet And Nighthawk were in the middle of the pack. Woodstock Express, Flying Cobras, and Flying Ace Aerial Chase had very slow operations.

Nighthawk is extremely slow I get fast passes on my season pass and every time I go, I usually sit in line for Nighthawk for 30+ minutes
Flying Ace (It's Kitty Hawk or something else now) is painfully slow. If it isn't "walk on" status, we won't wait in line for it.

When I worked on Raptor at CP our goal was 40 second dispatches and we usually hit that no problem. The biggest delay are guests that have bags etc. or guests that don't clear the platform in a timely manner.

When I went, Hurler took a ridiculously long time to dispatch. Didn't help that they were only running one train. Carolina Goldrusher also took an insane amount of time.
Was Carolina Cyclone running one train? Because when I went, Carolina Cyclone stacked on the brake run worse than Anaconda, which in turn usually has worse stacking than the other three Arrow loopers I have ridden (Viper at Magic Mountain, Corkscrew at Valleyfair, Loch Ness Monster).
One thing to note is on gold rusher they can't send out the train until after the other one finishes the track, so about half the time is waiting

Have they ever dispatched Fury at 25 seconds? I just hope they never ever dispatch it at 3 minutes and 25 seconds, or 325 seconds.

Fury sometimes has five to six people not including the operator on the control box most of the time they run 3 trains definitely a model efficiency if I know one thing Cedar Fair parks have the best dispatch rates over six flags any day cuz they got more people working the rides so they can keep the Lines Moving great job on this video

this year since carowinds is understaffed i timed fury’s dispatches for 2 weekends and averaged around 2 mins, afterburn is also VERY slow
So I timed the dispatches on New Texas Giant, the RMC at my home park Six Flags Over Texas, and they got them loaded on in 1:34. Is that pretty good?
@Jeremy I agree. Could be worse, timed it again on July 4th Fest and it took 2:22. Yeesh.
the thing to keep in mind here is that most guests could care less how long they're taking because guess what? no matter what, the ride ops have to wait for them. a lot of these dispatch times could be far slower.
As a former Carowinds employee, Fury was Carowinds baby and was always running super fast!!! Working at Nighthawk was so miserable because of how long it took for people to cross the train and get buckled. Even when you hustle the rider, they seem to just move slower at nighthawk!! But Carowinds goal is always safety and thus, some rides just load slower than they should, especially since 16 and 17 year olds may be working these coasters and pay is pretty much minimum wage, it causes seats to have to be rechecked!

The wait is on to see whether Vortex gets the stand-up to floor-less conversion for 2019, as Cedar Fair has been phasing out its stand-up coasters, and Carowinds being the last with stand-up coaster. RMC conversion to their Hurler wood coaster remains to be seen.
You were pretty lucky on hurler carowinds id my home park and a lot of the times I ride hurler the dispatches take over 3 minutes once it took 5 3 weeks ago
Carowinds is the closest “real” amusement park to me. Family kingdom is closer but they aren’t a big and real amusement park like Carowinds. I love Carowinds and I grew up going there. I’m about to go again next week. Can’t wait to ride the copperhead for the first time

For nighthawk that was pretty good! one time i was on another train and we had to wait 6 or 5 minuets just for the train in front of us to go Imagine looking straight up for 5 minuets. hell this guy next to us pulled out a map and started looking at it that’s how long it took I don’t know how it stayed in his jacket
Went to Carowinds last weekend and they said during fury’s boarding “we have a 3 hour line, we’re gonna make this dispatch as quick as possible!” and they sure did make the dispatch as quick as possible
I like those vest restraints on Flying Cobras.
I think that instead of junking the Arrow Loopers . . . . give new new Vekoma or B&M trains with those vests.

I've had 5 minute dispatch times on nighthawk and closer to 30 seconds on fury 325, their dispatchers are sometimes hit or miss
Once when I went on a field trip to Carowinds it was just me and 1 other person cause no one else wanted to go they had us dispatched in 15 seconds

When I went many of the operations were terrible, idk if that was bc it was the first weekday it was open, but some of them took way longer than they should have
Fury 325 operations are extremely insane sometimes. They've dispatched while the train in front was halfway up the lift hill.
No they haven't.....ready for dispatch, yes, but they didn't actually dispatch while other train is only halfway up the first lift. The computer system literally will not allow two trains on the hill at the same time.
