A Full Walkthough of Carowinds for plus size guests.
This was my home park growing up and the first place I took a walk of shame off of a ride. It took me over 20 years to return to a theme park. So fat testing this theme park has special meaning to me.
Special thanks to Carowinds for setting me up with tickets, meals, and parking to do this review.

Thank you so much for doing what you do. I am a plus size woman who's been obese since the age of 7 because of undiagnosed thyroid problems. I'm now starting to lose weight again and have recently lost about 60lbs. I have been flirting with the idea of going to Holiday World or Cedar Point or somewhere in the midwest. If you'd enjoy a companion to help you film and encourage you along, let me know!
I still remember having to get off a roller coaster and my walk of shame at age 13 at Kings Dominion in Virginia. Was heartbreaking, embarrassing, and it's so hard to think about going to try again. But your videos have helped me so much with the preparation!.
Best wishes for your health
Thank you so much and I’m glad they are helpful. Congratulations on the weight loss.
Found you totally by accident and this hit home for me. I did the exact same walk of shame at Carowinds about 15 years ago and still struggling today.
Thank you so much for what you are doing. The words of encouragement in the video really touched my heart and helped me with my struggles.
Thank you once again.
You honestly got me teared up. Thank you.
I think we all remember our first "walk of shame". Mine was Wicked Twister at Cedar Point. I was going to ride with my little brother. He was already buckled in when they pulled me off. He got off the ride and told me it sucked anyway.
Same exact ride for me too😢 I'll never forget the embarrassment
I’m sorry to hear that
Thank you so much for doing this my brother!
Thank you for watching
@@fattestedtravel yessir! I finally finished it too! My favorite parts are when you talk about your history of going there sure but mainly when you talk about your challenges of weight loss and life and so on because I and my wife face them too. We want to lose inches(don’t care about the weight number as much) so we can more easily enjoy experiences and rides… we LOVE Disney and we simply can’t do a few of the rides yet… and universal would be nice to do as well(your universal video recently tho was encouraging because maybe I can ride a few more than i thought anyway)
Sorry for the long comment… thank you again!
100% agree with the points you made about shame as a motivator. Shame fades away and old habits resurface. But when you approach it from the aspect of it holding you back from things you really want to do, it hits home and stays with you. Good luck and thanks for the videos.
Thank you
Love the encouraging words in this video brother!
Glad you enjoyed!
I been fat shamed off a ride in the past I can admit I cried before now I have been going to theme parks enough I don’t let it bother me. if they don’t have a test seat I’ll try the ride. I don’t let the shame bother me, other guests don’t know you and you don’t know them and they won’t even remember or care after you or them get off that ride. You do what makes you happy, I thank you for doing these videos. I’m 5’11” 315 lbs i have a few videos I have done myself at a few parks. You do a great job so keep up the good work. Hopefully I can help you if you ever visit my home park Frontier City.
Thank you so much and keep being bold.
Thank you so much for your videos! You are helping many others like us! Love your positivity on the issue! Keep up the great work!
I'm glad you came back after all those years! You absolutely are helping so many people. I can say that the haters saying that should of been a wakeup call didn't know you then or now. I was a child when I had my first experience now fitting on a ride and I didn't have a wakeup call because I was so young. I'm so grateful there are people like you and others who are going out and making people like me feel like we deserve to have fun and not be shamed. It is so refreshing. Thank you so so so much!
I just found your channel. I'm plus sized also. I'm 49 around 340pds. I cannot walk far so I am so happy seeing you walking so much. I would have to use a scooter to get around a theme park but I don't want to go to them because I feel sad I have to pay full price to not even enjoy many of the rides. Keep your videos coming. You are amazing!!! Love your channel!!
If you’re worried about it, I will try Disney as a starting point it’s the most accessible
Thank you so much for what you do. I am a plus sized woman and I've been so scared to get on rides that I've never been on but seeing you ride them gives me that confidence to just give it a try. Thank you so much. I appreciate you. ❤
Thank you for sharing your heartfelt beginning of your journey, I have taken that walk of shame a few times and it is never fun!!
Thank you!
I got a lot of respect for you brotha!! Keep up the great work, absolutely love these videos!!
Thank you so much
Dude I’m planning a trip to Carrie da with my girlfriend and I’ve gained weight due to family loss/grief. It’s been a year since I’ve visited and your videos have given me so much insight into the potentials of my visit and what to expect. Thank you so much!!!! You are an absolute blessing!!! 🙏🏽
Thank you so much for your encouraging words what you said was really inspiring 🙂
You are so welcome!
Good video Man, keep going and doing your thing!
Thank you I really appreciate that
Thank you for doing this so I know what I’m gonna be walking into. My first walk of shame was 8 years ago at carowinds in front of my whole family and I wanted to cry. That day has scarred me. I’m supposed to go to Carowinds this weekend. I don’t want to go, but I’m making myself do it.
I was just at Kings Dominion last weekend......I'm 5'11 and 344 lbs. I used to be close to 600 lbs. I had weight loss surgery last July. I've lost quite a bit of weight but still.....Cedar Fair parks are definitely not fat friendly at all! Even with my weight loss, they only cater to the smaller bunch. However Disney World accommodated me with EVERYTHING. I even rode Tron and Guardians of the Galaxy. I'm gonna keep pushing to lose to get to my goal of 250
Congratulations on the weight loss
Thank you sharing your new video.
I’m plus size and short leg too.
I never visit Carowinds yet.
Hopefully this helps prepare you for your visit
Jason, keep walking all those fun steps! You’re a kind soul. 😞❤️
Thank you
Hey man, I checked out your channel and I love it you’re so inspiring and you have good energy for TH-cam. One thing though, I rode the bumper cars and I’m not super plus size, I’m like 290 something but it’s a mix of fat and muscle and I was able to ride bumper cars without even wearing the restraint
Busch garden Williamsburg,Virginia
I remember go told at my state fair I was too big to fit on the ride and I was shaking the ride. I was so embarrassed. It was like in front of people oh my God I never went back in 18 years.
Holy cow you're so close to us! We used to go to Carowinds 2-3 times a year or at least once a year! I haven't been like 20+ years I think... lets see whats up!
I grew up going there myself
@@fattestedtravel so I learned from the start of your video!(that I haven’t finished yet lol)
Would love to see you at Knoebels in Elysburg, PA
I’m not plus size (I actually don’t feel secure on certain rides because I’m small) but i do appreciate that you did this, I can’t imagine having to walk off a ride.you are insanely brave. What you said on airwalker I do understand. It would be really awkward with kids if you are plus sized. Luckily that one ain’t dangerous XD. Appreciate your bravery!
What do you use to record?
Thank you so much for doing these! I appreciate your honesty and candor ❤
You are so welcome!
Silver Dollar City would be a good choice since its similar to Dollywood but with some different rides. Also Kennywood which has a lot of unique and older rides.
I’m hoping to do both of these at some point. Silver dollar city is definitely on my list. I have been before but it’s been a long time.
How it affects the taxes if you work there: you have to file for both states. You also can’t work in some areas because of the different laws.
Gosh that must have been a tough day trying so many rides but hardly getting on anything 😭 xx
Hopefully it helps other people know what they can fit on and ride
I love watching your videos and you showing that bigger people can have fun too
Thank you for watching I really appreciate it!
Another awesome video ❤️ thanks again, Jason!!
Thank you!
After burn or “top gun” was my favorite ride back in the day… I may not fit on it now tho
Hope you do. I didn't realize that was Top Gun.
Please try Cedar Point and Kings Island!😊
Enjoyed this video. Thank you so much 🦋
Thank you for watching!
Can you test out Holiday World and Splashing Safari? It’s in Santa Claus Indiana.
I hope to make it out there
Can you do Sea World San Diego, Knotts Berry Farm Anaheim, Six Flags California, Universal Studios California?
If this video gets 10 million views, I can definitely afford to do that :-)
I always look forward to new posts!
I appreciate that so much
Thankyou for doing these. Both my wife and I are both larger and it gives us a good guide. I used your video from universal for my trip last year in fact.
That is awesome!
I failed after burn and but I made it on night hawk. Some rides you’ll make and some you wont
By the way I used to be 425 and I lost a lot of weight I’m 315 now. My goal for next time is to be 50lbs more. I got this. I was proud that I rode a lot of them. Y’all just try it Fr. And thanks for this video.
You're my favorite fat tested channel but also a very good amusement park channel!❤❤
That's a great compliment! Thank you!
Last time I went there a worker shamed me in front of everyone said I was too big for the ride. I’m not huge I have big legs. But it ruined my whole trip and I’ve been too embarrassed to ride another ride since. I know it’s a first world problem but ugh.
I don't know if all the staff know how to deal with people that don't fit, but thankfull no one purposely shamed me. I'm so sorry that happened to you.
Do cedar point Kings Island Kings Dominion Busch gardens Williamsburg
Rollercoasters aren't very wheelchair friendly either. Carowinds got rid of many rides that could have easily been made more accessible to make space for Rollercoasters. Terrible management decisions.
hope you achieve your weight loss goals & get to ride these someday. carowinds is a great park.
Hey man i love your videos you do a great job your right my cousin bullied me cause of my weight and i ate more until i was hospitalized and after that wake up call im in the gym 3 times a week man i was 312 lbs now im 249 in 3 months so thank you and keep on livin man livin alright alright alright
Thank you and may your health journey be for you and no one else!
I remember when Carrowinds had smurf island. I have a really good picture of papa smurf coming down the slide with me and another little girl.
That's cool. I feel like I very faintly remember that.
OK, this is great that you are doing this, but... it seems that people will need a frame of reference to know how big you are, right? I am 5'8" and 275 lbs, and probably smaller than you, but it is not possible to tell without knowing more info.
Silver Dollar City Branson Missouri
You're awesome Jason. I love how you don't just shrink away even if it looks small, you still try. Amazing.
Thank you so much!
Go to cedar point
Try out Knott’s Berry Farm, there are three rides that has test seats
I hope to!
Coming from a big guy trying to lose weight. You are brave. 😊
Thank you!
I've lost 110 lbs..Hello from Gatlinburg! Best advice. Stop drinking soda and drink water and black coffee all day
They’ve added a lot of new rides since I was last there! The Intimidator was still there then.
It was rethemed to Thunder Striker this year.
Hershey park
No its carowinds
@@brittanygottschalk5529 he asked what places to visit next
If only there was a solution…
thanks for all you. add your numbers in the beginning of the video so we can have a better understanding how you fit
I used to do that, but to be honest people asking helps engagement and reach more people. I'm 5'8 and 370 btw
Six flags stl ,silver dollar city
Hope to make it back there
Roller coasters are made for normal people….
Great video…about as fat friendly as Six Flags😢
I'd put this above 6 Flags because it has more rides, but yea.
As a former emotional eater I know your pain.
Be glad you didnt ride hurler... worst ride on the planet!
I’ve definitely written some rough rides. Sad I didn’t get to make it on there.
Man. Carowind’s is worse than most places. That’s too bad.
I do appreciate they were so kind to give me the tickets though. That's rare and I can't change if I can fit on the rides, but I appreciate their team.
@@fattestedtravel that’s great they gave you tickets.
