Man I swear. I've tried to open my heart to understanding of what it is and what it's like to be black in America. There's so many views and so many opinions. So I take what I need and I leave the rest. And I swear Dax is an anomaly. He's not your standard typical black dude that the media has portrayed to us all or at least me. What I believe most whites have learned and come to understand about what it is to be a black and live in America, we automatically assu.e your from the projects and was raised in poverty. We also believe because of this unfortunate circumstance, that in order to escape and preserve such a situation as dire as this you are the forced to sell drugs and carry a gun in order to protect your supply and all the assets you have acquired from it. We also believe you because of being forced into such a dangerous and illegal lifestyle, that you will probably end up I'm prison. Now is there truth to all that, yes but there's also more truth too. Prime example, Dax. He not from the United States, but he's from North America! And instead of imitating main stream rap and trying to fit into what seems to be the norm (rapping about money, drugs, and women), Dax has obviously chosen to be exactly who he is. And yes being black is apart of who he is. But he has taught me that the color of your skin doesn't define who you are and what your worth. He has shown me truth I didn't know but wish to protect even if it meant Killin me. He's more than just an amazing talented artist. He's a BLESSING. I have learned so much from him, and still continue to learn more with every song he drops. So yea I would 100% agree with you when u said he's ahead of his time. He's definitely not what you would say is part of this time for sure. He's set apart from and an outsider that most mainstream rappers could really learn something from and become more knowledgeable. Same with Lecrae! Honestly, Lecrae has always been what I believe to be the best rapper out. The material and substance he has made has not only brought purpose in my life, but has helped teach me things i know are absolutely amazing a d unique. If it wasn't for lecrae I believe the majority of the morals and values I have come to establish in my life would not exist!!!! So he is also without a doubt 1 of the greatest blessings in my life. And to say he needs to be protected would be an understatement!!!!
