DPD will work with ANY amplifier, it is simply a tactic done inside the radio to reduce the transmit IM distortion being generated by the 7610. At some point Icom plans to allow their amps to be within the feedback loop used for the DPD calibration so that the 7610 can actively reduce the distortion generated in those amps. DPD will work fine with other solid state amps, but it may not ultimately reduce the overall TX IMD because the amp will be distorting more than the 7610. With a good tube amp, the reduced distortion from the driver (7610) will clean up the overall TX signal as the tube amps are more linear.
