  • The 2023 Yamaha Tracer 9 GT+ sits at the top of the Tracer 9 Sport Touring range. It's fitted with more kit as standard than any other variation in the lineup, it's also the most expensive of the Tracer 9 range. But exactly what extras do you get and are they worth the premium over the GT model? In this video, I concentrate on what the GT Plus has over and above the GT, but there's a link in the video to my full Tracer 9 GT review.

Hi Tony, great review. Thank you. For nearly 10 years and 3 cars later, I now can’t live without active cruise control and this bike is definitely on my list for my next 2 wheel vehicle. I was apposed to ABS on bikes and cars in the 90’s as I could stop both quicker without however it’s like anything as once you get used to it the tech becomes something you’d prefer to have even if it never gets used. The adaptive cruise and auto braking just makes the experience not only better, it’s also safer too. 👍😎

I worry about big lexan screens. I wear hi-vis green and find, like on my ST1300, the reflection of the colour on the screen in sunny weather makes them difficult to read.
And if any who hasn't used adaptive cruise, treat yourself. It's great, especially on motorways with moderate traffic.

A couple of years ago I was after a bike for touring and tested the Tracer and for some reason I just couldn't get along with it. The ergonomics didnt work for me, the suspension felt weird and despite having an XSR 900 for 2 years and loving the engine, on the Tracer the CP3 felt a bit underpowered. In the end i went for the Kawasaki Versys 1000 and i love it. Anyways these things are highly personal and by all accounts the Tracer is an excellent choice.

Just traded up from my 2019 Tracer 900 to the 2023 Tracer GT+ and it's a great bike! I wasn't impressed by last years model and the split screens just didn't do it for me, but this years model is just on another level. It's so light & flickable and feels very repsonsive. I'm really looking forward to piling on the mileage and taking it over to the Alps next year. Thanks for the upload.

I saw you were averaging 60 mpg on that TFT, interesting so with a 18 liter tank were you getting around 200 miles range? I have read other reviews that they were getting 160-180 miles range LOL I also know motorcycle testers-reviewers tend to use a lot of throttle percentage, i.e. ride fast.
I realize load, speed, fuel quality, weather and traffic all factor into actual mileage.

The radar is active at all times and uses the signal for the brake assist system and for the ACC when activated. But it only acts as an aid when the rider brakes, it won't break for you and its not a collision avoidance function. I'm not sure how the ACC would react when filtering. I know you can only switch it on over 30km/h, but i'd need to ask Yamaha

I owned a tracer 900GT which was 11.5k€ nearly 3 years ago now. The fact that these bikes are now up to 17k in that time span is crazy if u ask me. The bike has improved yes, it has more technology definitely but is it 5.5k€ worth of technology? I guess thats a question everyone has to answer. But in my opinion the tracer 900 went from a budget sport tourer (a good one) to now be reaching the levels of africa twin/1250GS. If i was going to pay that amount of money i rather buy a 1-2 year old GS for that money.
