CVTs are garbage for sure. My ‘18 Corolla LE has one and it’s on the third one under warranty (30k miles). I asked for a manual that year but they didn’t have one on the lot. Should have waited.
Seems that CVT's no matter the brand have a tendency to fail. Probably why Lexus still sticks to torque converters across their range. Really sucks cause I'm eyeing a used NA V6 RC-350 but the shifts are so damn slow I could do better with my hand and foot however wouldnt be sad if they somehow engineered a fun, fast shifting DCT that was also bulletproof and cheap/easy to service.
@eugenewang4650 skipping second? I suspect you have a V8 LOL. The gear ratios in my MX5 are nice, but if im not hitting highway speeds, 5th is never needed.
ours is a 2019 and it was available only in FWD S trim. Not popular that I can attest, but I have seen a couple on the road. Finding one was a bit of a challenge, and the dealer was happy to have a buyer. I believe the last model year was 2021. 6th gear is crazy high....high revs at hwy speed.

At least it's not as bad as in Europe. In Europe, you're not allowed to get a GT3 Porsche or the Volkswagen Golf R with a 6-speed. You could have never guessed it from the memes passed around 20 years ago that it would be America alone that would uphold the manual transmission
This list is depressing. It basically tells you “Hey, we have zero options for certain models with a stick, muscle cars are dying because people like electric cars, and if you reeeeaaaaally want a manual transmission you have to buy a $50,000+ spec vehicle”
@@autochatter Absolutely. Only reason manufacturers aren’t making them is because they don’t sell, simple marketing. You are incorrect about the jeep wrangler. Only some of the models come with a six speed manual transmission. For example, the 4XE only comes with an automatic. And the gladiator also does not offer a six speed manual in the V8. And the Subaru Impreza does not come with a six speed manual. It only comes with a five speed manual. Man, you’ve got to do your homework.
I forgot about the v8 and hybrid Jeeps to be honest. I know the Impreza sedan is 5 speed only but I thought like the 23 Crosstrek, the wagon version was a 6 speed as well. Manual Imprezas are D.O.A for 2024 unfortunately.
@@autochatterI believe i built one on the website as a 5 door and it was a 5 speed. Unfortunately by the time I was ready to pull the trigger Subaru announced they were dropping all manual versions.

Automatics today are significantly better on fuel economy. More gears, faster shifts, and computer will always know the optimal RPM range to shift gears over a human.
Many car enthusiasts that enjoy driving still prefer manuals, even if they are slower than a dual clutch automatic.
Agreed!
It’s a damned shame the list is this short. Save the manuals !
Unfortunately it will be shorter for 2024.

Great uncle there.
I have a 2018 Audi a5 in manual transmission-the last year they made them in manual. I feel like it will be a collectors item.
There's already been other models with manuals that are commanding a premium used, so I wouldn't doubt it.
I have the 2018 A4 in manual. LOVE it!

Manual - driving 😅
Automatic - riding.
Automatic sucks when climbing an incline right after a slow turn.
On the Toyota Supra you no longer have to opt for the A91 model. The A90s I6 are now available in the 6 speed manual.

Most automatics don't work well, not a well as I can with a manual - they're so much more versatile and responsive to real world driving conditions.

A bit depressing. I would opt for the M3 but BMW needs to offer an option to fix the ugly. Looking at used Blackwings now.
One of my neighbors just bought a Blackwing. Im not a fan of the front end of BMWs now myself.
Those used Blackwings are what I'm looking at for my next car!

what happened to the 5 speed manual? I don't want all those gears, once I shift into 5th I'm done. many times I won't come up out of 4th.
