VERY helpful! I'm concerned about my hens - none have molted and they're now 18 months old. My hens are sort of spoiled - lots of seed mixture enhanced with black soldier fly larvae and I give them chopped up raw liver every once in a while. I also fuss quite a bit over their 'dust bath' and they seem to LOVE that, into it often. I've got two white turkeys and I'm AMAZED at how clean they are - all the time. Do ALL chickens molt or is it possible those few, finer feathers I see on the deep-litter are all I'm going to see? Great video - I missed this one earlier - saw the info on it on another recent video. You're a great resource!!

It is in their nature to molt, if they have constant light source they can put it off longer, but about a year and 1/2 of age, they will molt, some will soft molt were you don't see many feather being lost, and they look really good. If that's the case they could keep laying. Depends on the seasons as well.
