I've been debating on doing an engine swap on my magnum for a while, and finally decided to go for it. I was wondering if I could get the measurements for the parts you machined, or possibly order a set from you? I'm also switching to the forks and wheels off of an MB5 to make the bike a bit bigger.
I notice this engine has a cdi ignition. does that require a 12v battery and cdi box because I have a 79 Honda z50r and it didn't have cdi ignition and the bike dosent have a battery so I don't know if the lifan will work
This engine is a Honda clone of the one that Honda uses on the xr50. Parts for that bike generally fit this engine. Exhaust is a generic one for a Honda 50 I got off eBay. Thanks for watching!
5/8th's is more than half an inch. Are you sure the rods you used are that size? I am doing the same conversion and am off to home depot to buy the rods etc.
do you still have the bike/ does it still run? would like to check it out sometime as I want to build my own. It looks lke the mounts you made were very simple yet worked very well. All of the few other people I have seen do this 140cc to moped swap go the welding brackets on route and I was wondering if bolt I think I recognize the area you were riding it in lol. let me try it. or buy it

I have been looking for Magnum and other frames but a lot of the prices are still so high that I might get a brand new $1200 delivered Grom clone 125cc for now and hopefully do a custom like yours or at least an upgrade someday. much respect for your build. I cut them out of a manga book and glued them on to the tank then I sealed the paper by brushing some elmers glue mixed with water so the paper wouldn't just suck up the clear coat I sprayed over it. I could prob do a tutorial on it if you want. Thanks for watching!
im looking to swap my kinetic moped to a lifan of sorts.. hopefully something way higher than 50 cc's lol 125 sounds good.. im just wondering how id go about it.. i searched on here for videos of that sort of thing it brought me to this video.. if @makinams20 is still around or any1 else has info or links to kinetic moped engine swaps to bigger engines message me here =]

It's a generic muffler for pit bikes from Ebay. Generally there is no year range for parts. Lifan is a Honda licensed reproduced engine so I usually assume 125cc Honda parts will fit
dan staszko probably not I did a swap tomas st/lifan 125 but I had to cut the frame and put the engine off center for the front sprocket to line up with the rear sprocket. The thing is a rocket tho. I have a 45 tooth rear sprocket and a 17 tooth front. And his mod made it too low for foot pegs at least the ones that are for the lifan engine my toes still touch and I moved the engine a inch up from where he has it and also got rear suspension that is 1 inch taller and I still have the corners the pegs will touch the ground before I get to the very edge of the rear tire.

dan staszko The engine I'm going to get soon is on tboltusa.com they have a semi-auto Parana 140cc I did buy a 28mm carb kit for it to be safe and get a jetted here's the link tboltusa.com/store/piranha-140cc-bottom-electric-start-semi-auto-start-engine-p-10616.html this is the best by far engine that can fit. For the best price I could find and the reliable at table and their customer service is great so I trust them. Oh and you should probably get dual fuel petcocks or have two individual Petcocks just in case on the Tomos and some Puch's have two outlets on each side for a Petcock and if you can't do that go to your local lawnmower store and get a vacuum powered fuel pump they have one on T-bult but it's $25.00 but you probably could get that when you buy the engine if you do.
I had to custom make them I am now the same way is the guy in the video sorry for not saying so in the beginning I have not slept and 62 hours insomnia sucks

it doesn't need a battery unless you're adding lights
