Bickley Ceramics Project 1999 Week 1

The Bickley Ceramics Project originated in 1981 dedicated to exploring the historic technology of European ceramics, particularly low-temperature kilns and firing. It was based in Somerset, England building and firing kilns between 1981-2010. Organisers Oliver Kent and David Dawson cross the fields of ceramics and archaeology and continue to work in the field. By 1999 the project was working directly with the excavators of a 17th-century kiln at Donyatt in Somerset and firing a scale reconstruction.
