  • A Biscuit is a piece of ceramic that has been fired once without any glaze.
    Then you put on the enamel, and fire it again up to 1280 °C (2336°F) to see what it will become. Enamels look very dull and they are sometimes completely different from the final glaze.
    And you never know exactly what you will get, until you open the oven days after. Even the ash from the burning wood can vitrify and create random unpredictable effects.
