They basically made all of the same mistakes that the leafs had when they faced the Panthers, that Boston did, and finally, New York. Relied on a core star shooters to do all the offense. Forgot that Stanley Cup playoffs is mostly a defense-first game. Allowed way too many chances too close to their net. Didn’t rely on rebounds, tip-ins and deflections, letting Bob get square to clean shots.

Thank you for your great insights. My theory is that the Oilers are simply not ready and that they are being outclassed. In 1983 the Oilers went down 4 games to nothing against the Islanders in the Stanley Cup final, but they learned a bunch and came back to win 5 Stanley Cups in the next 7 years. Their playoff run this year has prepared them to win the Cup next year. The Oilers still have the potential to win it this year and win the next 4 games, one win at a time, but they won't. It will be next year.
The eye test says Edmonton should have won two out of three and it also says that Bobrovsky is a fucking legend in net.
They’re not broken, they’re just not as good as the Predators, I don’t know any teams that are.

Oilers are not broken they are outclassed. Edmonton went through L.A., Vancouver, Dallas. Florida went through Tampa Bay, Boston and The Rangers. Who had a tougher road to get here? Again the Oilers belong in the final they just met a FAR superior team.

I found anti-Oilers fans way more boisterous, claiming how hard Oilers would be destroyed and they fluked out vs Dallas ect. But being a good fan kind means being obnoxious--by definition you are a fanatic haha
