Slaf in the corners, against the boards and in front of the net is unstoppable. Guy is strong. His hands are kinda slow but it takes time
His lateral movement is extremely great he has confidence to move the puck very well. And he's able to leave way less rebounds compared to Sammy . #1 goalie in my books .
I can see Dobes taking over the top spot on the Habs. Although we've only seen a small sample of his skills, his size and confidence already make him look like a veteran.
a great pair. Dobes and Fowler
are you not putting the wagon in front of the horse? way too early for that declaration. do you remember goaler Dipietro in the NHL? he is still being paid a lot of money but??????? Dobes has a good start but too early to declare he will be the greatest goaler. a lot of water runs un a bridge.
Doubt it. He'll be a bust in no time. 😢 Omg! Thank you for all the likes!! ❤🎉
No problem, im So grateful i could put my likes to a good cause
I know it seems a little far fetched but dobes's ability to adapt, the way he uses the butterfly, his size, and his amazing numbers all give me reason to believe he will be one of the greatest in the future. But time will tell.
GoPatty 🇫🇮
I think he is a just as good offensively always is in the right place the guy is lethal. Defensively they both lack but I believe michkov has more grit than bedard and can grow to become better defensively than bedard
Dream on
I wouldnt be comparing anyone to Carey, dude was a top 3 goalie for this generation and youd could argue he was the guy. Not easy skates to fill, especially because fowler hasnt skated on nhl ice yet and dobes is still young and is generally unproven at this point. Way too much prssure for no reason.
Betrayal? He turned down just under $12M to stay in Colorado. It's in Mikko, not the Avs. The Avs 100% won this trade.
It is litteraly impossible that Demidov becomes a bust. 0% chance.
when you see them live, hes dominant and explosive. no doubt hes gonna be a great player
One thing Slaf really has is his personality. He’s going to be a leader in a few years. He’s self-confident but not arrogant. He’s funny and always joking around. I think he’s pretty humble too-he knows he has to work hard and doesn’t look for excuses. His big body can be misleading; he’s still only 20 years old. Whether he becomes a star player is up to him, but I bet he’ll be one of the best franchise locker room leaders in recent years.
Why do we have to make videos like this we just need to relax and remember he’s only 20 just chill
Indeed, Slafkovsky is highly talented and despite this present season's (2024-25) almost disappointing performance, he does promise a lot. He is only 20 years old and he must work on growing self-confidence, muscular strength and bone density. I do trust Martin St-Louis to understand all of this and to keep backing Slafkovsky as possible. His potential is quite impressive.
that was a bad draft year overall
Correction, @ 4:40 & 4:47 you emphasize that it's the end of the game, when it's actually the end of the 2nd period. Just thought I'd point it out.
Hes on the mikko rants path took mikko 4 yars to gt going for the avs for real.
Happens to a lot of big players. Joe Thornton, Rantanen, Corey Perry, even Jamie Been took 5 years to become the good player we've seen, etc. Also, Slaf played in Europe, so it was going to be tough for him, everybody knew this. He'll get better with time he's only 20. Watch out in 2-3 years when he'll be confortable with his size and stuff he'll be a 25-30 goals/ 70--75 pts guy with 200 hits per season, a skilled powerforward. He have 110 hits in 46 games and he could do even more.
I remember Shane Doan said it took him 4 years to find his marks and momentum in the NHL, and he was also a big player. I'm not stressed for Slaf at all...
Seeing how they played the last couple of games against Detroit and the Devils they didn't look like playoff contenders!
It think slaf will be a sleeper un regular season but à monster in playoffs
I somehow sense that as well jimmy butler like
He has the potential to be a MONSTER!. The kid was 6'3" 240lbs at 18 as a HOCKEY PLAYER!!! Not footall. Not rugby but as a Hockey Player. And on top of it he's not just huge but intelligent and talented the kid is a total freak
He is barely over 220 not 240
Dipshits who think Slaf isn't the 1st overall pick in a redraft (that Grav guy) don't understand that point totals don't immediately mean the success of a team. Slaf is a huge part of building a team that will succeed in the near future. If individual point totals meant best player for the team, the current leafs would have multiple cups right now. Ovi would have more than one (hopefully he gets another). Slaf is a monster along the boards and makes that top effective at playing other teams top lines.
He’s also the first forechecker on line 1 being able to set Suzuki or caufield up, and he’s looking less lost, finding his role
He’s still a kid growing into his man’s body. In a couple of years, he’s going to be a monster for the Habs.
Exactly! It always seems like taller players take longer to develop in the NHL, so once he gets more experience and constant confidence he will be a big difference maker all the time
You guys talkin like hes 14 lol its just pro level game time experience… less him growing
5:43 he didn't shoot in top corner like you said, he shots between the leg pad and the blocker, tiny little space.
My fault u right still accurate tho I ain’t gonna lie
Wow he's still only 20... kid is gonna be a stud.
Sadly Habs are not without having some of the most ignorant fans. Most of the fans that hate on him would have picked Wright. Even every single one drooling over Cooley would have cheered if they selected Wright.
yup youre the proof!!
What exactly are they expecting?
@ And here is one of the triggered crybabies still crying over Wright.
How do you subscribe?!?
They basically chose Makar over Rantanen
Carolina won short term (if they are willing to pay allegedly 14m$ aav), but Av's made a very wise decision for long term by not streching their wage structure, they chosed the best option and will gain the most on a long run. Chigago came up even imo, if owner is willing to retain 4,615m$ from Rantanen's salary, since team is not going to playoffs, that doesn't affect the team at all. Hall was useless for Hawks anyway, so 3rd round pick is ok compensation. Even Mikko wins because he will get what was the most important priority for him and sign a lucrative deal around 13-14m$, either with Canes or some other team. Surely Canes have learn their lesson and won't lose him like they losed Guentzel year ago. Aho certainly aproves this trade. :)
Did you just change your channel name?; either way I think it makes more sense now
He is still undefeated in regulation
very true
Dobeŝ has not lost in regulation time yet!
I never route for any Canadian team, although I did for the goalies in Vancouver playoffs of 2024 and this kid...USA........
Trade matheson
Matheson had a bad night for sure, he's responsible for 2 goals tonight, the OT one where he couldn't control the puck and I think the first goal was also the result of him messing up with puck. He's nowhere as good as he was last year, but I think we'd have to trade him for another dman, because Struble is also messy and not as good as last year. Unless you want to bring up Engstrom (lefty dman, which Matheson is), because there's no other option right now within the team if Matheson's traded, which I am now on board with, but not any price, it would need to be dman who's better on both sides than Matheson, but also as useful as Matheson can be offensively at times, and a guy who's left sided dman, because the other guys (Mailloux, Reinbacher are right sided and I think they wanted Reinbacher to play all season in Laval first, like Mailloux). Not an easy situation to deal with, he's not bad enough to be put on waivers.
@ if they can get a dman to play for lane that’s on a year or two left on a contract would be great Kent needs to use some of the picks we have for this years draft Dobes can’t keep bailing him out for the turnovers he causes
Dobes had an extremely dominant game despite losing. A couple flubs by the defense in this one but otherwise its good to see the canadiens get a point out of an otherwise bad night. (also sorry if the audio was weird in this one i am pretty tired lol)
I think the first couple goals surprised him but after that he settled down and was excellent. The 2 man breakaway in OT shouldn’t have happened.
Watch, Colorado vs Carolina in the Finals.. LOL
As an Avs fan for the last 30 years I gotta say, the only reason they would trade Rants for a lesser return is if they didn't think they would be able to re-sign him. I'm very sad about this. He was one of my faves. I would bet they aren't done making moves though. We need like 1 or 2 quality D-men if we're gonna make a deep run.
According to finnish news he was sure they would come to an agreement with the avs. He was even willing to accept a discount to continue in denver. Sad to see he wont play with mackinnon, they seemed to be such good friends. :/
@@itzMike7 the more likely scenario would be that Rantanen lied to not look so bad to his teammates and fans... You can't believe everything you hear from Finnish news. Lol
You need to slow down talking and stop whispering in your closet when you make these videos .........
Thanks for telling us you know nothing about hockey 👍🏻
Being from Finland I am shocked and disappointed. Rantanen should have settled on 12 mill. Hope he does well in Carolina
I agree 💯
Pay the man what he is worth or lose him.
@@ew8651 he’s worth 12
@@AvsFan32 if he can get offers at 14 from teams, he is worth 14.
Imagine just a litttle what we are talking about: a player you say should have been paid $12 millions... Rantanen is a mercenary in the showbusieness world, like all the others and maybe more than some others. What if he accpeted to play for just $8 millions us a year... I know life is tought specially for mercenaries... Stay in Colorado at theis price because where he is at some more money is not that important when you have already plenty of it... But i know theater sport means business.
Necad just started his grind with 0 points and -3… I loved watching him in Carolina and hope the best for him but this was not an ideal start at all
Carolina seems to be the immediate winner, but Colorado have saved big on not re-signing Rantanen at that price, if they keep Necas, he could end up being almost as productive and cost a lot less, plus being younger could also make him a good trade-bait if ever they decide to flip him. Short therm, Chicago is the big looser for sure, but its not all bad either, as they also free up cap space next year and could go after a superstar free agent (Rantanen)? Or keep their money and tank again for yet another good draft. Hope Connor Bedard enjoys loosing, otherwise he could end up doing a Jack Eichel and ask for a trade if he does not see progress in the team… will Chicago become the next buffalo sabres of the league?
Its a rare triple W trade.
''We Have NEVER Seen an NHL Prospect Like Him Before....'' Calm down... and I'm a habs fan.
S’il vous plaît Jésus…🙏🏻😉
over rated period
Would u say Matvei Michkov over rated?
Are you talking about your wee wee
@ I would say any Russian player is over rated because their league is less superior the the leagues NHL players like Sidney Crosby and Connor McDavid have come from, they might be doing well now but their going to absolutely bomb in the future.
@@rdspencer147how tf does that make sense just bc they’re russian? ovi is the greatest goal scorer of all time and he’s russian, demidov is leading the second best league in the sport in points per 60 he’s gonna be great
@@rdspencer147 Are you saying the KHL is inferior to the QMJHL ? Because thats where Crosby comes from 🤔🤣the KHL is the 2nd best hockey league in the world better than the AHL
I was not comparing kotkaniemi to demidov sorry for the confusion I was comparing kotkaniemi to a high pick in the draft who didn't perform as expected. I was saying demidov has the chance to be a bust. Not saying he is going to be one but always a chance.
My friend, this is where you are wrong. There is not always a chance at being a bust. Wayne Gretzky had no chance of being a bust. Sydney Crosby had no chance of being a bust, I could go on and on. Demidov has zero chance at being a bust. Look at him play. Maybe he gets horribly injured or killed or something but there's no chance of him being a bust. If you can't tell he'd be a star RIGHT NOW, a point per game guy in the NHL you need to look at the tape again
I understood what u meant, and there IS always a chance of any player being a bust, even Gretz, and Crosby, just because a player can score 200 goals in pee-wee doesn't mean he's going to get to the NHL and be able to handle the size and speed of the other players, injuries and just fear can do a lot to players. There have been many players who were young and who were expected to make the NHL and to kill it in the NHL, and they either never made it, or made it and couldnt cut it. Dont let people get to you, everyone's an expert! lol. Thanks for the video man.
@@toddlauretteHabsforlife god this is a dumb post. Of course someones peewee numbers don't mean they will be a NHL player but when they get to the point of playing in the top leagues in the world you can tell. Not all the time, and not every year and very few players. But if you don't think there aren't sure things, first overalls guaranteed not to be a bust your either an idiot or you don't know much about sports
i mean jesperi was classed like 10th rank in the most optimistic list of other scout in nhl and was not playing in a league as much competitive as the khl...mtl just made a really bad decision there, a lot of team had demidov in high esteem but were afraid of the russian factor i think so.could end up being a bust we all know mtl luck with talented player but i think demidov had already proven he can play and produce in a competitive league even if this league is weaker than nhl or ahl but at least he is playing against full grown man, some ex nhl players with experience.not a garanted success but it's a good starting point compared to a fresh out of junior joining nhl, time will tell but if mtl manage well his devlopment in the next few years we will have a really good top 6 player imo
There is no chance this dude is a bust. None.
