    Question:
The last couple of years seem to underline that the best teams in the world (City, Liverpool, Bayern, Chelsea to an extent) have idealistic managers who play brave, attacking football with high pressing (Guardiola, Klopp, Tuchel, Nagelsmann, Flick, maybe Ten Haag) whereas the mid 2000s were dominated by pragmatic managers like Mourinho, Benitez and Ancelotti. Can you explain what or who the biggest factor(s) were for this evolution ? And since the aforementioned "pragmatic" managers seem to be on the decline, how can they bounce back ? Is it possible that in terms of tactics we could see the comeback of rigid, cautios, low-block defendig on the highest level (not teams like Burnley) ?

I know an Alex comment is already the top one, and so this one is likely to get lost in the mix, but I thought I'd offer him a little more appreciation, just in case he's feeling a little extra down some day I guess. After every one of his segments finish, I feel like I've forgotten I've been watching a youtube video, and am put into some kind of hypnotic trance where I don't feel like I'm taking in anything he's saying, yet his words are being unconsciously imprinted onto my mind forever. It's like he is a puppet master, and I am his mere marionette, yet in some weird twist he provides me with entertainment and top-quality football AND boat knowledge. top class.

xG Question! I understand a shot's xg is calculated based on historical data - but how far does that extend? When we say a shot has a certain xG, does that factor in elements like the height of where the shot was taken, the speed in which the ball was traveling before the shot, how much the ball was spinning etc etc.

I got penalised a few times for foul throws as a kid, and the ref could never explain why I fouled. I then started releasing the ball in front of my head (which was easier, and what I considered to be a foul) and never got pulled up on it. 🤷🏼‍♂️

Honestly, they never can explain why and then the reasoning they give is always arbitrary. I am glad the real rule is simple. Release the ball from both hands with the motion starting behind you head with both feet on the ground and behind the line. Simple.

It’s something that bothers me basically because if a single match back in 2015. We were playing, at I’m a winger so I was on the side and would sometimes take throws. Didn’t have any linesmen so the opposition coach was doing the job. *EVERY SINGLE TIME* we took a throw the opposition coach would flag a foul throw and possession would go the other direction. Was complete BS. Especially seeing this video and realising they weren’t even foul throws.

  • @kwanng8639
    @kwanng8639 2 ปีที่แล้ว

First off, y'all are great! Keep up the good work.
    A couple of comments:
    1. I decided to evaluate that Champions / Europa League Performance question slightly differently. Is it worth it for a team to finish 3rd in the UCL Group Stage and going to the UEL Knockout Stage instead of the UCL Knockout Stage? I looked at this briefly and based on some unconfirmed prize winning websites, it looks like if you can get to the UEL Finals, that would be financially better than losing in the first round of the UCL Group Stage (only including prize money, not additional revenue through tickets or broadcasting). However if you think you can win your UCL Round of 16 tie, then you should go for it, because entering the QF's seems equally as valuable as winning the UEL? Can you confirm this with your superior research and knowledge?
    2. I love the idea of including the SPL into the EPL. Beyond just their predicted performance, I have a question. Can you show over the last 5 years how much money Rangers and Celtic (and others) have earned from Europe v. how much they would have earned for placing 17th in the EPL? Some way to assess guaranteed entry into Europe (UCL or UEL? Should that be set at UEL?) v. EPL increased broadcast revenue and such. Is it more or less?

    Question:
May seem an odd question, but how do you analyse a football match while watching it? Things like seeing the tactics being used and what individual players are doing in a system? I really like the tactical side of the game but usually find that interpreting the tactics on my own, without someone explaining, quite difficult!

Question: why is it that we often see a player be told "get up" by the referee after diving but very very rarely do we see players booked for it, even though "simulation" is a bookable offence? Especially now with the advent of VAR where we've often seen decisions overturned because they saw no contact when reviewing.

And by over and underrated, I mean, who has been done dirty on their stats and overall rating. (Just the Premier League. And their vanilla cards. None of those team of the week ones which they use to cover up the mistakes they made because lets be honest, their ratings are more determined by how popular the player is, not how good they are at foot to ball activities))

    Question:
Hull have many many many ways you can deride them but in terms of FFP they are one of the best in the EFL. How much would they have to ruin that (in cash) to realistically return to the PL?

Question: Can the disparity between European football and football elsewhere be solved independently of the income and GDP disparity of the regions more broadly?
Considering that it is clearly possible for the football gap to exist even where the income gap does not (US and Japan compared to the EU for example)

Question for future Tifo football show: given the concerns over the suitability of various club owners, how practically realistic is fan ownership at premier league clubs and what is preventing this?

it's zero. Turkeys don't vote to cancel Christmas, why would current owners give up their 100% control?

    Allow me to assist.
A foul throw: when Hector Bellerin, and ONLY Hector Bellerin, takes a throw-in.

    Question.
Can we get an extended version of the tifo merch song with a music video included?
P.s. this is less of a question and more of a demand.

When I read the title I thought "foul throw" meant diving. 😂
4:23 Was that meant sarcastically? The rules on the screen say the ball has to go over the head.
What you can skip time in FM?! 🤯 That's a feature I always wanted but didn't know was in the game!
I'd say Liverpool's Shadow Front 3 would be Jota, Origi, Diaz.

    Question:
Why are more and more teams adopting a zonal marking with no men on either posts for defensive corners? Every time I see a corner scored it seems to be at either post where a defender would've easily cleared. So surely teams should just throw at least someone at the back post but they refuse.
