    I'm so proud of this girl for being willing to show her face and have her name in the video. I completely understand why some would want to remain anonymous! The shame that comes with admitting you've let your hair, hygiene, mental state, etc, get this bad can be so hard to face.

      I relate so much. I’m going through the same thing right now. It’s not two years of mating but it’s definitely six months. To top it off I also have really bad flaking issues. I just cannot get myself to go to the Salon. I’m afraid they will judge me. I’m afraid they will look down on me. I’m afraid I will cause them too much trouble. so now, I just don’t want my hair. I’m gonna chop it all off. 😢
      Hats off to you guys who dealt with the whole thing with so much compassion and sensitivity. Unfortunately everyone is not the same, especially the beauty industry.

      @nidhijohar4390 One thing you could try is to call around to salons near you. Then they can't "see" you, and you can get a feel for the vibe of the salon. You can also find out what places are willing to set time aside for a service that will take longer like that. But, at the same time, it may not be worth sitting through a detangling session if it's just going to happen again. So cutting it may be the best option for now, depending on your current situation. And there is NO shame in that. I used to know a girl who would keep her head shaved because she couldn't take care of her hair. She had an extensive collection of beautiful wigs that she would wear when she wanted to have hair, but she could take them off when she didn't want hair anymore.

      It is not always letting yourself go. Up until 2 weeks ago, I helped a dear friend who is like a mom to me for 2 years. I had to detangle her hair EVERY WEEK! It wasn't just a little tangled. It would take hours & hours every time! I think she was just thrashing around in her bed at night or something. Some people have really fine hair, (like me) and it tangles if you just look at it wrong! I actually have to do my hair every single day, even if I have it braided. Just sleeping on it every night causes mats to start! 🕊

      She is really pretty, and I know people mean well when they say stuff like this but when I was really really depressed and pulling my hair from stress and anxiet and going bald people would tell me the same thing.
      As if being pretty can suddenly change your mental state or cure depression. I never got that logic. There’s load of gorgeous out there struggling with confidence and mental health and depression, and even being aware that you’re pretty sometimes doesn’t help at all or when people say that, it feels like they’re brushing your feelings aside and invalidating you.
      I wish people would understand that your inner world is not always a reflection of your outer appearance and take mental health seriously, no matter what you look like. Even models and pageant winners have k1ll3d themselves. I’ve even had a therapist tell me I don’t have life too bad cuz I’m pretty it’s ok 😢 it’s just crazy to me to say something like that to someone who is struggling with life and their will to live.
      Knowing that people think that doesn’t make anything better and it can even make you feel worse, knowing people only value you for your appearance when you want so bad to be loved and seen for who you are. If people only value you for appearance you dread the day you get old cuz you think no one will care about you.
      I personally can’t wait to be old and ugly, be surrounded by loved ones and left in peace with my pets and to do gardening and painting, not surrounded by fake people and guys who just want to use you and f*** you then leave you.
      I’m sure you didn’t think all that or mean anything bad by this comment but it’s just another perspective for you to consider next time you see someone is depressed and not taking care of themselves, and you say, well they’re so pretty, I hope they know that. 🙁 Maybe she knows but she needs to know and believe not just her looks are pretty “she” is pretty, who she is and to start loving her insides too.

    Oh god I can’t imagine. I was in a car accident and the hospitals I ended up in didn’t do anything to deal with my hair before placing me in halo traction. When I finally made it home my mom brought me to her stylist. I had gone weeks without washing or brushing. There was still blood in addition to sweat, iodine solution sweat and dirt all matted up. It took a few hours, ingenuity in figuring out how to wash my hair while in a halo, patience and pain but managed to get through my very thick waist length hair. I was so glad I didn’t get my head shaved like one of the nurses suggested. I went back weekly to get it washed and put in two braids. After 4 months I couldn’t wait to wash my own hair:

      @@kellenhalfsighted3500 i do appreciate they saved my life. I also realize that my hair was the least of the concern. However at some point during my stay it would have been nice if someone at least showed my mom how to take care of me. They didn’t ever tell us the importance of cleaning out the pin sights or how to help me get out of bed or give me a sponge bath safely. So hospital care should involve not only lifesaving but also care giving and after my life was saved the care was dismal. But thanks for the 2 cents.

    I can tolerate this. I have fibromyalgia. Because of this I have a lot of pain when lifting my hands up. I can’t comb/brush my hair more than 2 min. When I’m in heavy pain (it happens often and prolonged periods of time) I can’t take care for my hair at all. I can only wash them quickly. Brushing/combing is pretty painful (moving hair/touch the skin of the head etc). Pain is so bad so I can barely stand up from my bed and barely walking. It can take weeks until I can finally brush/comb my hair well. Usually (to be able to go to work) I can do only making pony tail and brush little bit the end of the tail. That is why I have exactly the same in the end like this girl. I just try not to wait for month.. just weeks. Lastly I just gave up and started to cut my hair short. Please, don’t judge people. You never know what is behind.

      @@washing.machine please just do a quick Google on what fibromyalgia is. It would help so incredibly much if we wouldn't need to explain everything from scratch.
      What lead to anyones fibromyalgia? Lord knows?
      And not everyone with fibro has the same symptoms far from it, nor does everyone feel better with a shaved head. Personally id probably feel like yet another thing that's been taken from me. A defeat.

    • @bbbean
      @bbbean 7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @washing.machine It is unknown what causes fibromyalgia.
      Being "better" to shave your head is an opinionated thing... some people may have less pain or can manage their hair well enough. Some people may have help. Some people may rather have tangled hair than no hair at all. Hair can be a very emotional thing for people, so shaving it all off isn't always the "better" option even when maintenance is difficult.

    • @alisad.7343
      @alisad.7343 6 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@washing.machine, doctors say that cause of fibromyalgia is genetic disorder that can be activated buy physical or psychological trauma. Increase of pain can be because of stress, lack of sleep and rest, cold, etc. Shaving head is embarrassing to me. It is better to have a short cut like a Bob cut… as for me. I can tolerate it.

    • @brendaann727

      I understand totally. I have had bouts of chroinic fatigue for many years. During those times, I can barely hold my arms up for even a minute. One winter CF was particularly bad all winter & my hair kept getting terribly tangled, which it does easily anyway, even daily. I was determined to never cut it & I just kept working at it for a minute each day. It took forever but I finally got it de-tangled! One time I just gave up though & cut it. It grew back fast, & now that I discovered aloe vera, it doesn't get as tangled as before. I am able to keep it tangle free every day. Thanks for sharing your story. Having invisible problems can hard because alot of people don't understand, so you don't get validated like you would w/ problems like cancer. We all have struggles in life & times can be very hard. 🕊
