The prequels are a bit simple-minded at times and are, in parts, not that well written or directed. The latter is something you will simply not find in the prequels. George Lucas invested a great deal of time and effort into the lightsaber combat, so the capabilities of the Jedi at the height of their strength would be well represented. Looking at the throne room scene in Episode VIII, it quickly becomes clear that Rian Johnson did not care about such "minute" details. That one is simply terribly put together.

I don't understand why the prequels get so much hate. Anakin's journey to the dark side, the corruption of the galactic republic before it fell, Obi Wan Kenobi in his prime years, and Qui Gon is just freaking awesome even though he only appears in one film. I love the prequels!

For how much shit the prequels get for the acting/writing (imo the actors are mostly great, Hayden included, it's just the writing that's pretty bad) I absolutely love the delivery of so much of the Anakin/Obi-Wan fight. And the delivery of "you turned her against me..." Is one of my favorite quotes.
Hayden did a horrible job acting, everyone else was fin, but the garbage dialogue didn't help him. I've seen his other films too - absolutely nothing special in his acting.

I was born right before Revenge of the Sith came out but when I got into Star Wars as a 9 year old I only got the novelizations of the Originals and had to wait until I was grown up to watch all the Star Wars movies. I had no idea people who grew up with "I know what I have to do..." were old enough now to be having this conversation
