i actually drank Beer with the Bass Player and Drummer when Sue would sit down on the stage and play something soulful and at the end of the night AT Raouls Rodside in Portland Mine back in the eighties
I remember Sue from way back in Vancouver (post Ottawa) when she was just starting. There was a bunch of players coming up at that time-Sue,Jeff Healy,Collin James,Big Al Walker and many more very talented folks who never recieved the same level of notoriety. One of the things that impressed me with Sue even then was her dedication and conviction.I recall her pushing a Super Reverb around from one club to another hitting all the jams-no mean feat as she's tiny and the amp was the same size as her.
I saw her live at the Blue Note around 1995. For some crazy reason, the place was a little slow, and I was able to spend a lot of time with them between breaks. Got some autographs, and rapped about blues. They were great people, onstage and backstage. Oh yeah, talented as all get-up... born to play the blues.
why am i stumbling on this so late? googled female blues/slide players and hit her and many others last night. what a talent, and, of course, no big surprise, canadian! immensely talented player and singer.
I saw her video with Jimi Vaughan last week and i hadn’t heard of her ever! How is that possible! I think she’s awesome! Oh, and i also see that 16 people gave her a thumbs down...and i can’t see why.
Just saw Sue on Nov 1/18 in Edmonton. She has amazing stage presence now and her guitar skills are impressive. If your ever in Edmonchuk check out The Station on Jasper. Live music every day!
I met her also way back in 92. She's has a real nice personality, a sweet lady. Then she got up on the stage and played some of the meanest blues that I ever saw.
Actually most would say she's more talented than a lot of men. But then again they would be people who know a thing or two about blues, or music in general.
wonderful tone my ass, dont get my wrong i like her and her right hand is great, but jesus it sounds like an icepick going through my skull, use the neck or middle position ginger
@rogerstill71 Then I guess you have never seen James Burton. He made the Paisley Tele's famous. In case you don't know who JB is he was hired by Ricky Nelson at the beginning and played with him until Ricky got killed then he was Elvis's lead till he died. Still going strong.
Always thought a Sue Foley re-union was in order me-self.(Sue, Jon, Bob & Lorne Petkau). That was the band.We never got to record proper like,(although we did have some chances). Don't get me wrong, I like what she doing now, but it no more to me. Oh, And just because I'm a fool doesn't mean I don't know what I'm talking 'bout.
To 44ShakedownBenny. Is there any reason why Blues In D Natural is cut off at 2:35? Sue Foley is just getting into this song and its cut. Is there a full version of it elsewhere on You Tube?
@anniefromjapanee She has more than enough 'soul' to be a terrific blues performer. And, she's recognized by people 'in-the-know' as such. What's your claim to fame?
Anyone that can play like that without a pic and I’m still trying to learn how to do it with a pic 🤷🏾♀️ 🤦🏽♂️ should be in the key of S for stellar or the key of E for extraordinary or the key of F for fantastic.
I really wish to make a vote : but I don’t care : I am not gonna let this happen; but I bet everyone hates madonna’s music and Sue’s music got ballzzzz
@ChallengersDeep Really, you feel that way? This isn't her best song, but she has blues talent. Next time you post, spell correctly, helps us take you seriously....
I love this song - its got so much soul!
Even back in Sue's early days she was destined for greatness! Love her!!!
Why have I never heard of this woman? She’s amazingly talented!

I met her also way back in 92. She's has a real nice personality, a sweet lady. Then she got up on the stage and played some of the meanest blues that I ever saw.
Wow, amazing blueswoman. And, by the way, autocorrect won't let me write the word BLUESWOMAN. Why the $#@% NOT?
Actually most would say she's more talented than a lot of men. But then again they would be people who know a thing or two about blues, or music in general.

@ChallengersDeep Really, you feel that way? This isn't her best song, but she has blues talent. Next time you post, spell correctly, helps us take you seriously....
Fantastic playing but that is the most godawful guitar I've ever seen
