Beautifully done, I’m sure different moments from True Grit brought people here. Mine was the ending when Rooster has to ride little blackie til he finally gives out. So heart breaking, what a movie

This is the first song that has ever made me cry. It's the first one that's actually touched me emotionally. This is even better than the one played in the movie :)

@TheSnoozepie - I debated on whether to try playing that part also, but decided against it in the end. ~1968 Knabe 5'8" Grand, nicknamed "squeaky" due to the squeak it makes while pressing the sustain pedal. If you listen closely you can hear it on this song.

@lipnoodle117 - Thanks. That's what I was going for. There are a bunch of good versions here on TH-cam, but none that really replicated the movie version.

Gah, i have the sheet music for this and im so frustrated. My hands are too small to play the left hand part. I cant hold the g AND hit the other two. (At least on my version, theyre awfully far apart.) Whyever i decided to learn piano...🤦♀️ i can BARELY span an octave.

Very nice playing, I like that you skipped the part where the orchestra comes in, the countermelody of the strings can't really be played neatly on the piano.
