    Robert, in nvim how can you trigger the Control Space equivalent for intelij or VSCode to trigger code suggestions? its very useful in Flutter.

      I have a very recent video on NeoVim where I show it. I have it on space-ca but that can be rebinded

    What are your thoughts on the new Riverpod version, and specifically the code generation? I've used it now in a project and I'm a bit torn. Sure, it works great, for now. But I feel like all I can do is hope that it continues to work, since I'm not the one writing the code. It's a bit scary.

    • @RobertBrunhage
      @RobertBrunhage  ปีที่แล้ว +4

      I don't use the code-gen part and probably won't either. Maybe if it's metaprogramming implemented later on but right now I would rather avoid all that code-gen (so many packages require that now)

    • @kingpinkent
      @kingpinkent ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@RobertBrunhage Yeah, I agree, it's a bit weird. It's even the recommended way according to the author. Will probably go back to non code gen in future projects. Metaprogramming could be sick though

    • @RobertBrunhage
      @RobertBrunhage  ปีที่แล้ว

      @@kingpinkent I don't care what's recommended in terms of approaches tbh. In most projects I have worked on a lot of code is already code generated. I rather not add another layer on top of that to slow down CI and the analyzer (and local code gen).

    Great!
    My problem is the "space" key... which thumb do i have to use?

    • @RobertBrunhage
      @RobertBrunhage  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Whichever you want or both. I used the right thumb before but then I switched to split keyboard I moved it to the left thumb.

    hey Robert, how do you use 10 finger for vim motion. I tried it and my fingers always go to h,j,k,l instead of j,k,l,;. How can I fix it or what do you do for this situation?

    • @RobertBrunhage
      @RobertBrunhage  ปีที่แล้ว

      My default hand placement is jkl; and use my index finger for h and j. Just some muscle memory and then it feels normal

    How long did it take for you to learn all special characters? I'm currently at 40-50 wpm, but only typing normal text

    • @RobertBrunhage
      @RobertBrunhage  ปีที่แล้ว

      I didn't really "train" it. When I was improving speed I was always coding on side projects or work projects which forced me to train it (while not looking).
      So when I was at 80wpm but special character speed was already quite decent.

  • @jajasaria
    @jajasaria ปีที่แล้ว +1

    how your split type keyboard? do really help in fast typing? Im in 80wpm but my problem always is the special characters. I'm thinking of buying split keyboard and improving my typing again

    • @RobertBrunhage
      @RobertBrunhage  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Split doesn't really help with typing faster but could help you with proper typing techniques. I was typing around 120-130 before using split and now I am back at around 110-120, so still not at my original speed.
      A lot more comfy though :D

    Started Practising typing in monkey type

    When starting out focus on *accuracy* and gradually increase speed.

    Monkeytype is hella confusing - no real sentence and that lag between typing and showing on screen. 80w/m is quick! I'm at 40..50, with special chars much slower I guess.
