There are usually 2 types of comments when I see camaro anti theft threads. 1. Actual tips and 2. “I put mine in a garage so I don’t have to worry”. Please realize the latter is not always applicable (because 9/10 if the garage option was available the post wouldn’t be made) and some people simply don’t have access to a garage. Comments like, “just place it in a garage” is dismissive and unhelpful. Please refrain.
My 2022 2SS 1LE was stolen in November when I was at work in Downtown LA. It was never recovered. I’ll look for a ZL1 somewhere down the road. It blows but I’m glad I wasn’t hurt or killed. My life and the ones I loved are irreplaceable.
@TheRealCatofit just means you need a better way to protect it from theft like a compustar alarm set up. Mine was stolen and I’m buying another one too. I’ll be sure I have the car setup so the only way it can be stolen is with a tow truck.

The IGLA alarm!! You don't need to disconnect the battery! Best security system for our camaros. In order to start the car you need to enter a pin code. Without that pin code car wont start 👌. It also protects your key fob signal from being duplicated/copied. Its definitely worth it! I have a it on my 2024 SS 1LE. Also added Drone Mobile which is a live gps tracker 👍
I have a 2014 SS 1LE and luckily I went for a keyed ignition. Thieves broke into my car and couldn’t get it started because no key and they couldn’t use the obd2 or start the car. Thieves use a snap on computer plugged into your odb port to start the wireless remote cars. The only thing I did is use an old club and a clutch pedal lock. Good luck getting a hacksaw behind my clutch pedal.
IGLA security system is the best option on the market! Just got mine installed and love it! Correct security code must be put in before car will start. Security code uses buttons in your car!
My friend spent about $1200 on a "kill switch alarm system" and added 3 additional GPS tracking devices (each a different company and app)🤣 I hope he's in the clear
22 Camaro SS1le stolen from my house over a month ago and not found. Onstar GPS shows that it’s parked on my driveway. Not sure how they disabled this. The only good thing, I still had 30k left on the loan, insurance is paying me 53k for the car plus 5k for all the taxes that I paid when purchased. So insurance will pay off the car and give me a 28k balance check. But honestly, I would rather have my car than the money. But it sucks that you can’t have nice things without being worried about theft.
Had my 19 ss 1le stolen from my house almost a month ago no recovery. The insurance is hopefully gunna take care of me. I do which i had my car bck instead.
AirTag is nice but unfortunately due to privacy and other reasons anyone with an iPhone (potential thief) will be alerted if the AirTag is following them and they can locate the AirTag from their own phone with the U1 chip on newer iPhones as well as make the Air Tag play a noise from their iPhone. Some people have stripped the speaker from the AirTag but it still functions for finding with the U1 chip, aftermarket AirTag compatible devices don’t have the U1 chip but still come with a speaker.
I just installed a tracker on my SS and so far I like the way it works. I get notified even when I just unlock my car and open door. It does require a subscription but it’s well worth some peace of mind!
Installing the Kill switch myself tomorrow. Plus I’ll be using a club to help prevent my window from getting broken in to. Plus I park my car in the garage.
About two months ago Idk if someone was trying to go for my 20' SS but was walking out of the gym and saw someone that looked to be maybe messing with my front drivers side door; yelled at them as i was exiting the gym and ever since then I have been on alert. Key is always in a faraday pouch at home and kill switch has been installed.
@@Martin-h1v Yes, I know Cartoys can do it if you have one in your area. Got a quote from them, if I remember correctly, for about $250. I ended up ordering one online that replaces the starter relay. Also really depends on the level of protection you want. IGLA seems to be the best option currently, locks your car down with a PIN code. Pretty hefty price though over $1000 to have installed.
pretty sure the camaros are being targeted now as they are NO LONGER being made. Hence parts will start to become higher sought after, and prices go up
@@Lethalgarage actually it’s the starter relay K10. U can’t miss it. It will not prevent them towing your vehicle but they will not be able to start the vehicle 100%.
Don’t use the fob. Use the silver button to unlock. Set up Camaro to auto lock when you walk away and your key fob is not detected. It’s in the settings menu.
Does not matter dude! Sure it helps of they are trying to grab the signal but, otherwise, you need some type of alarm and or something to kill the ignition.
@@erroljones1684 yeah of course why not. For a pro, if someone really wants your car then it’s gone. All we can do is make it as hard to take as possible.
@SudeepC1973 I get that. What you suggested is a great start, but you definitely need layers. Grabbing the signal is not the most common way theives are stealing these cars.
@@erroljones1684 yeah. I am going to add another layer. OnStar. Pay the $20 bucks a month for the theft prevention package. That will enough for me without diving too deep into that rabbit hole. Lastly, I have ‘Out of site, out of mind.’ Good ol’ parking inside a garage.
My 23 2SS was stolen and was found 3 hours later it was minor interior damages. They always took off my wrap on most panels. It was in the dealer for 2 months. I installed Compustar alarm system. Hopefully it works and doesn’t happen again!
I literally just got my 2021 ss 1le stolen from my home a couple of days ago. Broke my passenger window out. Fortunately, within 2 days of reporting, it stolen it was recovered. I was told nothing significant other than the window was damaged. However I've yet to see the extent of the damage myself. My car is currently in the impound awaiting to be taken to my local repair shop. I'm definitely going all out on security when I get it back. If it happened to me it can happen to anybody so be careful out there.
It’s very interesting because I remember around…10 years ago or so when the Gen 6 was soon to be released a lottttt of Gen 5 Camaros were stollen. ZL1s SS etc. Reason back then was the engines. Really does suck though because not everyone has the room or ability to store their vehicle in safe storage. Thank you for bringing up/allowing others to share some ideas for everyone Mat!
Back in the day Trans Am’s were the number 1 stolen car…(long time ago!) I use to take my fuse out every night that went to my fuel pump. It sucked but was worth it.
I got kill switch for the ignition and one for the fuel pump and a solid steal break paddle lock good luck trying to find the kill switches even if you get the break lock off.
My 2SS 1LE was stolen on the 26th of January. It was retrieved 3 days later in Compton. Just 10 miles away from me. They used a reprogramming attack. Apparently the tool to do that is readily available.
@@Lethalgarage Not really. The stock wheels were stolen and the passenger side mirror was broken off. The moron actually put different wheels on the car so they could drive it around.
@@Jeking84 No. I bought Theft Patrol when I bought the car. That works. They found the car and called the cops. Funny thing, while I was on the phone with Theft Patrol, they found the car instantly, OnStar called me and said they couldn’t find it. The thief took the OnStar module out of the car thinking it was the tracker. All that did was totally deactivate the car. Now I am waiting for a new module so I can finally drive my car again.
Damn Matt!! How you gonna show my 2022 Black ZL1 that got stolen last May 2nd, of 2022 crashed in the ditch RIGHT OFF THE BAT!! That's brutal!😭😭 🤣🤣...P.S.:TRUE STORY! . I have the article and picture still on my phone, my dealership called the Brighton County Sheriff's department the next day and confirmed that car in the ditch was MY VIN for the car I ordered. 😭😭😭. All is good though. Got a 2023 at Employee Pricing so ended up paying less for my '23 than I would have for the '22. 🙌🙌🙌👍
@Lethalgarage ah man, it's all good..I'm just giving you a hard time! 👍😁. It unfortunately was indeed my car, it was featured on The Drive Inside's channel after it happened. I was devastated when I received the news but it all worked out in the end so that's all that matters 👍👍😁😁 As a side question though: I saw/read this on another comment section but is there something MORE secure about just using the silver button on the door handle to lock/unlock instead of using the key fob since the key fob sends a signal???
I mean, it doesn't really matter if no one is around. But technically, yes if someone is in a car near by when you use your key, that can allow them to clone it.
Bought a rapid blue zl1 new last year. Had it stolen in Jan. I was lucky to be able to find it a mile from my house. Insurance took care of the damages. I live in an apt complex so I started storing it in a warehouse where they keep boats, RVs and some vehicles. Worth the price to not have the anxiety of my car being stolen.
I’ve been running an inexpensive GPS unit that has a starter interrupt feature. Install is pretty straightforward, and the interface includes some nice features like geofencing, speed and direction. If they happen to get around the starter interrupt, I’ll know where my ride is right away.
Hey lethal. Bad news, Friday morning my Camaro SS was stolen from my apartment here in Sunnyvale CA. Super sad, a neighbor had his ZL1 stolen as well. I had your flex fuel kit on my car too! 😪 I hope the thieves are brought to justice.
Igla security system. Expensive, but so are our cars. Will not start without the correct PIN input. Also has a car jacking mode which will shut down the car without the same PIN entry.
I have air suspension installed. I air out, then take the controller with me, and there's a switch that kills the fuses that start both of the compressors. It takes 10 seconds to flip the hidden switch and unplug the controller. The controller fits in my Faraday pouch with my key fob and wallet. A thief can't steal a car, cat convertor, or wheels if it's laying frame. I also have the air suspension components bolted down under a vented enclosed box to make it harder to steal my airlift management. I'm looking to install a fuel pump kill switch next. The nice thing about that method is the thief won't know if my car just won't turn over or if there is a kill switch, and it makes a lot of noise. Also, it wont kill all the power and reset everything.
You guys will have to do like the hellcat guys. get the IGLA alarm. Doesn’t allow the cars keys to be duplicated and doesn’t allow it to move without the IGLA fob or PIN code. From owning a hellcat honestly that is the best bet. The ravelco is another, but you lose remote start. Those two are the only options to stop theft short of them having a tow truck. Even if they steal it on a tow truck the car is a brick and only good for parts at that point. The kill switches, AirTags, all that other stuff doesn’t work.
You broth up AMSOIL Products, that's what I have used for my 2019 Camaro ever since I purchased the car. I like the idea of the kill switch. I'll keep that In mind thanks. always watch your channel. Have a nice and blessed day. Take care
I lost my 2018 SS on february 8th 2023 I was so shock it was gone the day it got stolen and they still didn't find it yet but good thing I have gap insurance
Seems like there are two methods that are being used at the moment to steal our cars. Key fob cloning and OBD attack. The former can be easily solved by an EMF box or some other metal case to store keys in. The latter can be solved with a rewired or relocated OBD port. There was a very good thread on the forums for wiring in a dummy OBD port. Luckily have not heard of any stolen Camaros in NY... yet.
Great video. I have a 2019 2ss with the performance package. it's an eye catcher everywhere I go. I always bring down my insurance and regulations card and put them on my carry bag just in case my car was to get stolen they wont have any of my info. I also use a brake club. And I also have the gap ins. But remember, guys dont have anything with ur info in ur car. It sucks that we have to do a lot to keep our stuff safe. But at least they won't ur info. I do this every day.
I had 4 break ins on my 2019 2ss since November last year, kill switch and steering wheel lock saved it from being stolen just minor dents and broken windows now it’s a garage queen I don’t daily it no more
I have new 2024 2SS Camaro that I ordered from my Chevy dealer last year. I keep it parked in my secluded car 🚗 port . In addition I use a heavy duty club lock 🔐 attached to the steering wheel. My dealer recommended this to discourage auto theft. Let me know what you think about the club as an anti theft device. Thanks for sharing your video.
I also have the club as well when I got to the gym or go out to eat etc- its not theft PROOF but a deterrant that will slow most down (they'll need a drill or saw to get around it) which would stop most idiot thieves
Find your "Electronic Fuel System (EFS) Relay under the hood on the switch board, and take it out and keep inside the house or with you. They can't start the car. Keep the battery plugged in as is. Simply.
I saw someone post a video on this, and 1) the alarm goes off when they re-engage the battery, and 2) all of the settings are reset (clock, seat memory, etc) Is there a way to do a battery d/c and avoid these things?
Texas location They have 45 parking lot cameras, license plate readers at every entrance, and city police in the parking lot with private security roaming around the lot 😆 🤣 This was 2.5 years ago
I have a 5gen ZL1 garaged! But I Also have a hidden tracker in my ride linked to my cell when I need it to be away for service to make sure there is NO joy riding when I can't be there! So there is that option if your cell phone provider has it available? The only down fall, the tracker is charged and is good up to 5 days before needing a full charge✌
Guys please don’t pay for on star it is a waste of money. They stole my car I heard it turn on called them within 5 minutes to disable the car and they have already disabled it all they had to do was pull out a fuse
Or look up camaro almost gone in 60 sec. The guy in the video just installed some sort of kill switch that didnt kill the main power. But was able to keep them from starting and stealing it.
I am surprised not many know about a Faraday bag for the fob when you are at home. Using a Faraday case in conjunction with a Ravelco plug will definitely help if parked outside or at a hotel etc. Also if you hide an Apple airtag in the car make sure you open it and disconnect the speaker so it cannot be found by the thieves when it makes the connected/disconnected/out of range audio alert.
Faraday cage boxes also stop the duplicators, i store my keys in one, held the box right next to the car, wouldnt open, wouldnt start. Then added a kill switch to the fuel system to stop the fuel pump.
What about a fuel pump kill switch... They might get down the road, but they wont get to their destination to strip it. Not sure why they haven't added a pin code like a phone unlock after you get in the car that will unlock the ECU.
As far as I’ve seen this is a big issue with push to start vehicles in general. Keep your keys somewhere deeper in your house/apartment. Maybe even in a rfid case.
Hack saw takes less than 20 seconds to cut through the steering wheel and they can easily slip off any aftermarket wheel to brake pedal/ wheel to window club lock. Had it happen to my truck 15 years ago. Detachable steering wheel with a hub lock plate is better (for older cars without airbags) with a Ravelco plug and a Faraday bag for the newer vehicles.
Has anyone used the Mobillistics intelligent relay? You replace either the starter or fuel pump relay, and it has a remote shutoff to immobilize the car.
Lethal I just went to my garage and tried it out my 2019 Camaro holding both the open and lock buttons for 3 seconds and was surprised it actually worked my lights flash three times and I couldn't open my door Try yours and please let us know if your key fob turns off too!!
Ravelco disables the starter and other necessary systems so that not even Onstar can start the car without the Revelco key in the car. And the best part is the battery doesn't have to be disconnected.
I want to take my car to Camarofest and to Texas and to 1/2 mile races, but that would mean hotels over night. Which scares the shit out of me. Don't know what to do.
Layering is the name of the game to me. Be a pain in the butt so they "hopfully" move on to someone else as the clock ticks. All metal ODBII Lock (OBDsaver). Overpriced to me but couldn't find better for less and wanted peace of mind with that easy method. Kill switch that's fob operated (intentionally vague). I may or may not have another kill switch to another circuit. More layering to come. Getting ideas from the replies.
I had my ZL! stolen from my performance shop. I recently installed the compustar T13 as an additional security measure, it completely blocks the starter, even if you have the actual camaro remote or if you duplicate the key fob, you still cant start it without disarming the compustar. It also has GPS tracking, 2-way remote, and drone LTE app that notifies you wherever you are in the country. Check em out....The IGLA is also another pin-system option but it doesnt alert you if a tow truck grabs it and it has no GPS. The only reason my car was recovered is, the new mcleod clutch had not been bled, so they couldnt drive it, found it with the clutch on the floor.
My cousin had a SS Trail Blazer for years. Till one day it was stolen. He called the cops and it took 4 months to find it. All stripped down in Dallas Tx. 😢
Wonder if the + cable running to the starter itself could use a hi amp. disconnect, that would keep all the electronics hot, but car will not start. Short of flatbedding the car off....
Remove the fuse 30amp. First Purple switch above the black relay that says GM on the right lower hand side of the box. That’s the starter fuse. Or install a Revelco Killswitch.
My V3 couple weeks ago was almost stolen, thanks to my dog for alerting me they had already gotten in and appears they where in the process of hooking up to my OBD port because my P3 was disconnected.
OBD Block, like an aluminum 'VTT “OBD-LOCK” ODB port locking tool' Basically, the relay attacks from the keys are still possible. But since most people are using faraday cages/pouches and how they steal it from crowded parking lots is they are fairly easily programming a new key and they don't need an existing one with high end scanning/programming tools, hence why windows are getting smashed to access the port.
Good vid very relevant and informative. Regarding cloning the smart key, have heard wrapping the key in tin foil or storing it in a metal container can prevent that.
Yup yup.. my window got pulled out, bad guy made it inside my car, in a parking garage of a mall on the nice side of town(perfect area to look for cars right?) I came back to my vehicle with local PD surrounding my car saying that they probably didn’t take because they didn’t know how to drive manual. Seemingly, with an obd2 device, bad guys can program a key on the spot once they are inside. They were in a stolen ZL1. Sad.
I have a 5th gen ss you need a Key to start my car no key fob. They could steal my key fob signal to get into my car but how would you start it without a key.
I feel lucky that mine is garaged every night and never more than 100 feet from me while it’s parked outside at work. I feel for anyone who’s gotten theirs stolen. My dad had his Infiniti stolen not too long ago (it was recovered.) I cant imagine what that feels like.
A ravelco anti theft device would definitely save your ss, not one car stolen. Amsoil is top tier 100% full synthetic oil and I use nothing else and a lot of their products 🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸

I have an Air Tag hidden in my interior. I always have my car garaged. I keep the key fobs in a drawer as well.
That will help you track it, but not stop it being stolen.
@@Lethalgarageit’s usually never out of my sight for long
Air tag has a short range
@@gns4838nah I’ve seen them around the world
AirTag is nice but unfortunately due to privacy and other reasons anyone with an iPhone (potential thief) will be alerted if the AirTag is following them and they can locate the AirTag from their own phone with the U1 chip on newer iPhones as well as make the Air Tag play a noise from their iPhone.
What tracker do you have ?
My SS got stolen in December. Found it 2 days later with lo jack. They only got the black tail lights and broke the window. Ripped out the onstar.
Hey is there place where they install kill switches?
@@Martin-h1v Yes, I know Cartoys can do it if you have one in your area. Got a quote from them, if I remember correctly, for about $250. I ended up ordering one online that replaces the starter relay.
Also really depends on the level of protection you want. IGLA seems to be the best option currently, locks your car down with a PIN code. Pretty hefty price though over $1000 to have installed.
pretty sure the camaros are being targeted now as they are NO LONGER being made. Hence parts will start to become higher sought after, and prices go up
We have a few years before parts become hard to find.
Aren't Cadillac parts interchangeable?

Just take the starter fuse out if you don’t have a garage or if you’re out for the day trip or what ever.
That's a good trick.

Yep same here brotha window was broke but unfortunately had no tracker so it was gone for weeks. Get that satellite tracker and a kill switch brotha
Electronic shift locker. Can't move from park unless you push and hold a hidden button
Good shit, our FedEx truck uses that. Works wonders😂
Might have to start a Camaro Watch
I got kill switch for the ignition and one for the fuel pump and a solid steal break paddle lock good luck trying to find the kill switches even if you get the break lock off.
How do ya avoid the engine light from the fuel pump switch
My 2SS 1LE was stolen on the 26th of January. It was retrieved 3 days later in Compton. Just 10 miles away from me. They used a reprogramming attack. Apparently the tool to do that is readily available.
Was the car damaged or stripped?
Did they find it with on star
Crazy, glad you got it back. Kill switches now, move, garage it etc.
I thought this was an unsold car, man sorry that happened to you.
@Lethalgarage ah man, it's all good..I'm just giving you a hard time! 👍😁. It unfortunately was indeed my car, it was featured on The Drive Inside's channel after it happened. I was devastated when I received the news but it all worked out in the end so that's all that matters 👍👍😁😁
As a side question though: I saw/read this on another comment section but is there something MORE secure about just using the silver button on the door handle to lock/unlock instead of using the key fob since the key fob sends a signal???
I mean, it doesn't really matter if no one is around. But technically, yes if someone is in a car near by when you use your key, that can allow them to clone it.
@@Lethalgarage OK, good to know 👍. Thanks! 🙏👍
@@jonburk8256 did you have any sort of safety measures to prevent theft?
Igla security system. Expensive, but so are our cars. Will not start without the correct PIN input. Also has a car jacking mode which will shut down the car without the same PIN entry.
Thanks man for the tips I’m getting my Camaro RS this week shipped to my house was searching for how to protect my car from theft here in Vegas.
Just started watching you pick up 2022 1ss le and you help when I change my btr 225 cam thanks for the videos
Interrupt the starter, either in the fuse box or at the starter. Or some other process that is required to start, interrupt the fuel pump.
Luckily have not heard of any stolen Camaros in NY... yet.
The EMF is a cool idea. Something that could generate a bunch of random fob signals would work too.
I use a faraday bag for my truck key fob.
I had 4 break ins on my 2019 2ss since November last year, kill switch and steering wheel lock saved it from being stolen just minor dents and broken windows now it’s a garage queen I don’t daily it no more
Sheesh bro, where you from?
I have new 2024 2SS Camaro that I ordered from my Chevy dealer last year. I keep it parked in my secluded car 🚗 port . In addition I use a heavy duty club lock 🔐 attached to the steering wheel. My dealer recommended this to discourage auto theft. Let me know what you think about the club as an anti theft device. Thanks for sharing your video.
It’s not a bad device
I also have the club as well when I got to the gym or go out to eat etc- its not theft PROOF but a deterrant that will slow most down (they'll need a drill or saw to get around it) which would stop most idiot thieves
Got mine broken into in Memphis last yr, just wanted my gun didn't attempt to steal it though...but a kill switch is getting installed soon

Find your "Electronic Fuel System (EFS) Relay under the hood on the switch board, and take it out and keep inside the house or with you.
They can't start the car. Keep the battery plugged in as is. Simply.
This was the same thing that has been happening to Challengers/Chargers forever. As soon as I got my car I bought a faraday cage box to hold the keys.
Smh....
Install a remote battery disconnect. I did 4 Camaros, and it works great they love it.
Can you upload a vid about it? I’d love to give it a watch
I saw someone post a video on this, and 1) the alarm goes off when they re-engage the battery, and 2) all of the settings are reset (clock, seat memory, etc)
Is there a way to do a battery d/c and avoid these things?

@jb1633 they don't have this issue. the only thing they had to reset the windows nothing else.
Someone on the Facebook groups had an attempt made twice on their ZL1 in their apartment lot, both times were deterred to their killswitch
My zl1 was broken into at Sunmmit racing store , they tried to get her

I have a 5gen ZL1 garaged! But I Also have a hidden tracker in my ride linked to my cell when I need it to be away for service to make sure there is NO joy riding when I can't be there! So there is that option if your cell phone provider has it available? The only down fall, the tracker is charged and is good up to 5 days before needing a full charge✌
Easiest way is to pull starter relay or ecu relay...or both...no clock or window resetting
They sell key fob case covers on Amazon that blocks the signal for $10. I just bought one after learning about this information.
Old school steering wheel club and a lockable car cover? Might be just enough to slow them down.
The club style steering wheel lock would take 30 to cut so I'm not sure about this method.
Did you have to go through the floor under the back seat? I’m trying to figure out the best way to access the fuel pump to install a switch.
What about a fuel pump kill switch... They might get down the road, but they wont get to their destination to strip it. Not sure why they haven't added a pin code like a phone unlock after you get in the car that will unlock the ECU.
They can try that shit but they ain’t leaving out alive
@@Evo4726 if you wake up…
when i had my zl1 , i installed ravelco kill switch.
How much was it and did they do a professional job? I don't want some 18 yo hack cutting a bunch of wires in my car.
As far as I’ve seen this is a big issue with push to start vehicles in general. Keep your keys somewhere deeper in your house/apartment. Maybe even in a rfid case.
Old school steering wheel/brake pedal locking bar adds theft time and thief may move on to easier target.
Use a RFID blocker box or pouch blocks the key connection to the car might be other ways to get around it but I do that to block the key connection
Has anyone used the Mobillistics intelligent relay? You replace either the starter or fuel pump relay, and it has a remote shutoff to immobilize the car.
Definitely an easy to add layer of defense. Igla, Ravelco, lots of good options.
Lethal I just went to my garage and tried it out my 2019 Camaro holding both the open and lock buttons for 3 seconds and was surprised it actually worked my lights flash three times and I couldn't open my door Try yours and please let us know if your key fob turns off too!!
I was trying to do this yesterday on my 2017. Not sure if something needs to be enabled in vehicle settings. Mine did nothing, ss 1le
Using a faraday box and faraday pouch to block the RF signal from the key fob it actually does work and the camaro is parked in the garage.
If I travel I leave the ss garaged and rent a driver. At home to far from garage to bedroom also in a Faraday box.

I took mine on a trailer across the country. Best bet is to pull the ignition fuse and a kill switch.

OBD Block, like an aluminum 'VTT “OBD-LOCK” ODB port locking tool'
Basically, the relay attacks from the keys are still possible. But since most people are using faraday cages/pouches and how they steal it from crowded parking lots is they are fairly easily programming a new key and they don't need an existing one with high end scanning/programming tools, hence why windows are getting smashed to access the port.
Will GM fix this problem to prevent thieves from starting and stealing our car
This is happening big time with GMC AT4's..... in the Houston area, about 1500 plus, this year alone. Just a heads up
Good vid very relevant and informative. Regarding cloning the smart key, have heard wrapping the key in tin foil or storing it in a metal container can prevent that.
Yup yup.. my window got pulled out, bad guy made it inside my car, in a parking garage of a mall on the nice side of town(perfect area to look for cars right?)
I came back to my vehicle with local PD surrounding my car saying that they probably didn’t take because they didn’t know how to drive manual. Seemingly, with an obd2 device, bad guys can program a key on the spot once they are inside. They were in a stolen ZL1. Sad.

I feel lucky that mine is garaged every night and never more than 100 feet from me while it’s parked outside at work. I feel for anyone who’s gotten theirs stolen. My dad had his Infiniti stolen not too long ago (it was recovered.) I cant imagine what that feels like.
Buy a manual is one way to cut the chances of being stolen.
I'll usually pull the starter fuse pull. Good luck getting it started.
put a hidden kill switch on the fuel pump, after all the immobiliser gear.
