It's too bad these cats today think that they'se too cool to extempo and have a sobriquet and dress up in actual stage clothes. These people today, chttt! I wouldn't call them calypsonian. They ain't. They come on the stage looking just like the people in the audience. Imagine Kitchener, Sparrow, Calypso Rose or Duke wearing the clothes they have round the house on stage! They would never! Watching Preddie makes me happy but sad, too because this doesn't happen too often anymore. I wish they would promote these kinds of kaisonians again. They are there, but they need exposure.
You are so correct. I have over 1500 lps in my calypso collection and i just put them on and listen to the greats. these modern singers are so pathetic that i hardly listen to any of them .
