Love it when you say you're taking a beating. My mooring is like that on many days here in Newfoundland. It also blows me away when inlanders see the ocean waters and how clean and clear it looks. I think every trip starts with a moment of anxious apprehension. Usually when I get away from shore it all falls in line. Even when I've worked on large work boats or fishing boats I've felt that up until the lines are let go.
enjoy watching your videos man, the lesson learned here for me is you don't need the perfect boat or be the supreme sailor to accomplish your goals. we also do a lot of cruising and racing with our tanzer 26 soulmates in the northumberland strait with a few trips in the brador lakes ,lets do some more memories and have a great summer

Sailing down the Hudson going past the Tappen Zee bridge is my old stomping grounds. Kept my C&C33 in Haverstraw. Beautiful place! I am down in Florida, great weather and water, but not nearly as pretty as the Hudson Valley.
Thanks for giving me the courage to take the jump I’ve been planning on doing exactly the same thing from Lake Ontario And now the plan is coming to fruition and the steps are being taken to prep for a blue water destination!!

Hopefully in the next year I will be doing a similar adventure. On a side note, don't apologize for smoking. Because then you will have to apologize for eating food with too much sodium or fat, or having one-to-many sundowners. We all have our vices, and I am glad you were honest enough to show us yours. Everyone wishes each other Fair Winds and calm seas, however, I always jinx myself with this. So I will go with "strong hurricanes and rogue waves", my friend.

Do you know how much a slip is in Florida? I'm getting to the point where I might force the boat life and take odd jobs here and there. That means spending a lot of time in the marina.

I've followed along from almost the beginning and have enjoyed every bit - from the highs to the lows. This forced isolation and closed borders is the perfect time to build up a new kitty, make upgrades to Lady K and plan the next big adventure. We'll be with you all the way.

I think I’m going to do it this year I’m going to leave in November if I’m able to get through the gates I’m in Lake Ontario I have a 25 foot sailboat I can Do it on but I’m trying to get a bigger boat A marina offered me a 36 footer but it’s cement I need some TLC and I don’t know with the motor works I’m glad you accomplished your goal The hardest part is to begin and start that goal especially when you don’t have money

@@ES-xc6fk We have a Discovery 7.9, which is the late model of the Grampian 26. She's been the perfect first keelboat, but now we've found a bluewater voyaging boat that doesn't take multiple years of savings to acquire, so we're snagging her.

Money don't need to stop you. We got our 1976 Pearson 26 for free. If you look you can find a sailboat in your budget. It may not be your forever boat but at least it's a start. Bonus being you get to go sailing!
I've never sailed my own boat to Bimini but I have sailed to Bimini once before, and it is magical.
