What a great transformation! The designers really outdid themselves. It really is a masterpiece.
its too much. megatron never had all those moving parts. this took over 10 minutes. he would have lost every battle if he transformed on the spot.

Admit it, Emgo. You started this series just to have fun transforming some of these figures again. (Not that I'm complaining.)
I'm having fun overall doing these. it's a nice, very much needed change of pace for me.

Yep I have this one and it takes a good little while to transform him. Lots of little parts everywhere.

My god. I am in love with how intricate this bot is! I ordered the IT01 version of this a couple weeks ago and can't wait to get my paws on it. I thoroughly enjoy learning the ins and outs of tricky pieces like this one.
Damn this is a hard transformation. I have this toy and it's still on my display shelf in robot mode. I have no clue to where to start transforming him so I came here. Great Video but I'll just stick to having Megatron in robot mode and I'll never the patience to transform it. Your video is great! A+++

There is an expensive solution if you dont want to transform this figure: buy 2 of them. One stays in gun mode and the other stays in robot mode. Problem solved! (And wallet destroyed)

I only have problems with transformations when things don't work the way they are suppose to. A long intricate transformation like this is just awesome.

I mean true... But you can get the KO 10 inch version on Amazon for 105 instead of like 400 or... Something so you get a bigger version for cheaper. So you're wallet gets semi-obliterated.
Man, the MP-36 mold keeps on bringing me that "geeking out" moment LOL! The engineering on this figure is freakin' insane! I have it myself, but Im too scared to transform it just for the fun of it, so I keep on watching everybody elses reviews just to look at the transformation LOL! MP-10 is still the best looking figure in bot mode though, in my opinion, and Soundwave is a good second. But this figure is way up there too!
Can't wait to get that MP Hound and the Prime 3.0 in hand, though I have my doubts about the 3.0... Judging by the pictures so far, the 3.0 is far from looking as great as the MP-10.
Me too! I bought this and I wasn't even going to attempt to transform it. Way too hard for me so I have it on display in my game/toy room. You are right about the engineering of this toy. Lots of screws and flips and flaps and tucks etc. Totally insane and worth every penny.
These have all been really great, and I'm glad you're doing them.
I don’t have a large collection but I dislike transforming MP36 Megatron the most. Gladly Emgo has these videos. I have to come back every time to remind me how to do the shoulders right. And the legs are a nightmare. No other Masterpiece gets as many stress marks from transforming.
The thing's basically an expensive puzzle box, but I still love it!
His transformation still frightens me, the only reason I haven't purchased him

Thank you @emgo316! I've never actually been able to transform him correctly! Today was the first time one of his hip skirts didn't go flying off. Plus I was able to really make sense of placment of them as they formed the handle. Great video!

Thank you for posting this, Emgo. I did the obligatory one transformation for photography. While it wasn't terribly difficult, fear of breaking a piece on my investment means he's staying in robot mode for the rest of his days.

I personally like the normal reviews with commentary better, but I've been watching both reviews that you upload. There was something very enjoyable and satisfying about this review and its kinda relaxing to just watch the transformation with the background music.

if i had to pick a favorite masterpiece Transformers figure, it would be Soundwave.
I have soundwave, and he is cool. My only problem is the cassettes get stuck sometimes.
what strikes me as odd is Soundwave's head looks like Optimus' head?? (and i'm talking about the character)

Thanks a lot for making this video! I just got this (actually the IT01 version) and I was very stressed trying to transform it into everything but a broken toy! I was stuck at mark 3:20 of this video because I couldn't figure out how to transform the legs (and had problem working the piece above feet) and the same with the arms, almost having to go back all the way back to robot mode because I didn't noticed I had to flip the "rib cage" up when working the torso/barrel section). I blame the instructions for not being too detailed and myself because my optic receptors were never too good to begin with and they're getting "foggier"! Lol A nice challenge to do when extremely bore that I will avoid because I am afraid to even getting it off the box!
Did it hurt to not say "...and the second verse same as the first?" Haha ohh man i love that, and love the video too!

I have to get this figure. The accessories. That come with it was awesome. And I love how the transformation is really complex but the future looks some what simplistic but exactly like the G1. And also the Ruger alt mode is epic especially with the stock extender silencer and the scope.

That's a creative way to thin the legs into a gun handle, which is something that had some that decision of Megatron back in the 80s where his legs are unproportionally thin

I know this video is several years old but I was using it to the KO transform my toy house factory 03 Dynastron today, had it a while but never transformed it. Following your video closely it appears the foot assembly on the thf version is different, do you have or have had this version and know how the foot works at all?

Oh cool. I came here to hopefully figure out and resolve the issue regarding how monstrously tight his hips were and how they would not separate or move no matter how much force i applied...and he just detaches them immediately and effortlessly. Great. Time to go crawl in a corner.

And I thought the voltron vehicles assembly was bad as a kid but this would make a kid throw a temper tantrum when not even his parents could assemble it without this video.

About time there was another good toy on G1 useless handgun Megatron.
I got Megs a few months ago and tonight I was going to attempt to transform him for the first time. Maybe tomorrow.
I gave up transforming but now I might do it lol
it took about 10 minutes to transform Megs. About 5 minutes for each side. if he existed in real life it would take him at least that much time to change to alt mode. When looking at how real machines work, the time and energy to interconnect each part effortlessly would be astounding. That would explain why they need so much energon and the necessity of the complexity of the spark and transformation cog.

I wonder how many design engineers are on the masterpiece team? You are a level 3 genius if you can transform masterpiece without instructions and do it in 25 minutes. It will take hours without this video or instructions

hey emgo, i need a little help. At 7:04, when i do the part where the legs come down, the legs aren't even moving. It's like the plastic is combined. I even unscrewed the torsro crew and it didn't seem to help. WHat's my next course of action?

At 7:06 I cannot get the leg/groin pieces to un-clip. I've been at it 20 minutes trying to do what you did. They are stuck fast and I don't want to pull any harder, lest I break it. Help?

I bought mine when it came out. I've never transformed it. I'd be too worried I'd get scratched paint. I have a couple 3rd party versions I keep in gun mode.
