I feel like with robosen it’s a cool novelty but past the at most hour you’d be playing with it it does nothing on display that a much cheaper non remote Optimus doesn’t.
My worst purchase was the trailer for Robosen prime. It arrived this week, and was broken right out of the box. I now have to ship it back, and await my refund.
To be honest, the fact that you got robosen optimus is a bad purchase, you can literally buy like 20 normal priced transformers with that much money not even including the trailer
If I ever get Laserbeak, I’m probably just going to modify it to look like how it did in the movie and make it look like it doesn’t have a car alt mode
I think Lazerbeak is a precolor of the Core Bumblebee which is why his mold isn't great. It's sad that the mold has already degraded though, it looks pretty great for its size. Also, for number 5 I got the Ride Megatron and honestly it's a pretty cool monotone Megatron. It's kinda like the DOTM Megatron before he rusted.
i dn't have much toy money so i choose my figures carefully, but i did get disappointed by four figures. 1) Kingdom cheetor. I would love him, he's amazingly designed, but the size means he is super fragile. mine has got a cracked cheetah head hinge so i dread transforming him. 2) CV Deluxe Soundwave. He's nice and i like that he includes The Beak, but the kibble cape and lacking heels mean he can barely stand. shoulda been a voyager... 3) iguanus. sorry, that bike mode sucks and the robot mode is kinda cool but not enough 4) SS BB Soundwave. he is only good standing in a neutral stance. he's got trigerhappy shoulders and weird shoulder flaps, the waist is weird, his elbows are double jointed but still suck, and op top of that he turns into a flat nothing.
Tbh I kind love my SS BB Soundwave. The arms are def weird but I’ve been able to get him in cool poses before, and he feels really great in the hands. I also like how he interacts with the core class ravage. The altmode is kinda fun to me, but it’s definitely not great and it’s a pain getting his legs lined up to get him into it, so he mostly stays in bot mode. Regardless, I still mess with him pretty often even if he isn’t perfect.
I’m surprised you put bee on here. I have all three from 07, ROTF, and DOTM. I’ve never had an issue with quality control or color. Did the bee you get come with that multipack for all the autobots from the 07 movie? I heard that set had quality issues.
Yeah the 5-pack figures all have terrible QC and lots of missing paint apps, from what I've seen. I'm so glad I went all-in on studio series from the beginning. Now the figures I have are worth a ton cause people slept on them.
I thing the worst figure I've bought is legacy soundwave, mind you that the quality is good so far the arm join haven't yellowed yet hopefully not. My problem is the symbol in the chest is missplaced, it's not like just a millimeter difference but it's really clear that the symbol is more to left. How can I fix this ?
I also got core laserbeak just last month and I think it’s pretty bad. Most of your issues also apply to me, like his arms falling out of place and the back not fitting in vehicle mode
Core laserbeak is probably in my top 10 favorite tfs I got this year, because I really like the novelty of having a pink Bumblebee, and also because I think I got really lucky with the qc.
Core class Ratchet is frustrating. I like his bot mode, but getting it into the alt mode is not fun. The transformation is pretty simple, but then it ends up being one of those figures you kinda need to squish it around in your hands to get what ever minor alignment issue is throwing off ALL of the other panels.
Robosen Optimus isn't really a disappointment to me since I wasn't interested in the first place when I learned that he couldn't pose when it's turned off.
I think Thew put it best when he basically said the Robosen Optimus is not a toy to be enjoyed and played with, it's just a neat party trick you bring out once to mildly impress people before shuffling it back into its box. It's not really *for* anyone besides rich people with more money than sense
Can’t say I find it disappointing, I never had any expectations of it. Its a pricey one trick pony that gets real old real fast. I don’t understand the appeal of a self transforming transformer, it just takes away all the fun of a regular one.

I mean, it’s a showpiece, like a lamp or something. It’s just a fun item that you play along, just like an amazon echo, which also loses quite a lot of usefulness soon. It’s a fun robot!

for 2022 to now, the only kind of disappointing transformer I have is the Battletrap, the head sculpt really bothers me. Although since I only traded my Brawl for it, it wasn't a bad trade, just not something I would get at retail price. Also Dream factory GOD11 since it had shacky ratchets and it just wasn't as good in person (got like 70% refund due to the shaky legs while keeping the toy so it's not that bad) Best ones would be UT Desperado, Acoustic Wave and Kingdom Megatron, all really solid and fun pieces, Desperado's transformation is kind of frustrating due to how heavy that thing is but since I don't transform it that often, it doesn't bother me as much, it is one of my main display pieces. Acoustic Wave is a solid 9/10, lost a point due to the price but that qc is so good, he is solid like a brick, transformation is fun, overall best mp soundwave. Kingdom Megatron is a 9/10 as well, the leg transformation worries me but otherwise he looks great in both modes and is fun to mess around with, wish they found a way to hide the dino thigh panels though, then it would be 90% show accurate with a more realistic aesthetic

For the price, it's definitely not what I hoped for--and I've had "Transformers vs GI Joe" on my wishlist ever since bloody Human Alliance! It's a shame that the overall reception of those figures is probably gonna stymie any attempts in the near future of doing them right

The guy is a weaponizer throught and trought. It's one of those that you need a specific mindset to enjoy, and his let be honest, lackluster design doesn't give him the much needed appeal.

Yep, Robosen was bound to be here I suppose. It's technologically impressive and a fun piece I'm sure to mess around with, but for the average low income collector not one to own/spend 1000+ on. I gathered about as much from Thew's review. Universe Hotshot is hands down one of the worst TF toys I have ever owned in my collecting phase. Since it was fairly rare apparently I had no problem selling it off to another collector back in the day. Not sure yet how I feel about the Legacy one, but I imagine it's a huge improvement. Only TF I actually did buy on a whim was the heavily discounted Earthrise Arcee for my one remaining TF display shelf. Surprised not to see her on the list as she's literally a shellformer, with the no use for about half the car other than to stand on it. Not the worst figure I've owned but far from impressed.
Worst figures for me this year have got to be Legacy Prime Arcee and Pointblank. Prime Arcee because it's just an ugly mess that fails to capture the essence of the actual design. Pointblank because of the ugly proportions, poor articulation, and the beginning of the downgrade of the Targetmasters by making them folding bricks now.
My worst is core legacy shockwave. After the first transformation it’s head refused to fully pop back up and is stuck looking down into it’s torso, so I just keep him in gun mode and give him to SG Jetfire. Still extremely disappointing for a figure that has gotten really positive reception.
His legs are also really loose on mine, so I only ever display him in robot mode on Armored Up Galactic Man Shockwave’s robot mode back like a little man, riding Galactic Man Shockwave in his vehicle mode, or in vehicle mode as a gun for Robot Mode shockwave. That’s it.
My ten worst that I have bought this year: 10. SS86 Cornonation Starscream 9. Legacy Skullgrin 8. Kingdom Wingfinger 7. Wreck ‘N Rule Spindle 6. SS86 Spike 5. Legacy Core G2 Megatron 4. Legacy Core Skywarp 3. Legacy/Kingdom Core Hot Rod 2. Wreck ‘N Rule Masterdominus 1. Legacy Prime Arcee Honestly other than Arcee, Masterdominus, and Hot Rod, none of the figures on my list are bad, they are just the least good of what I picked up this year.
@@TekuJames Arcee is bad as a figure, and bad as an update to the Prime design. The transformation sucks, the articulation is mid, the QC is disgusting, it looks bad in robot mode, and the bike mode is so/so. Worst figure I picked up this year. Skywarp is fine, like I said, other than the top 3, none of my “worst” figures of the year are that bad, they just rank the lowest of my pick ups. He probably would be off the list entirely if they hadn’t gotten rid of the null rays, since that was my one major issue with the figure.

Worst purchases this year were: Studio Series car Shatter, all around horrid Universe Blaster, didn't know that Soundwave mold was so clunky and unstable Star Wars crossover Darth Maul, plastic so brittle it fragmented in my hands and ironically broke in half at the waist Unique Toys Desperado, but only the one I bought from TFSource......who ordered the unpainted ones for their inventory by mistake. Full refund, ShowZ customer now. For best Ill keep it short. Studio Series car Dropkick, Toy World build a figure Starscream, Alternators Wheeljack, and King of the Sniper.
I got SW crossover Grevious, the ones that turns into his monocycle, broke on first attempt at conversion, literally fell apart trying to convert back.
The only reason I got studio series 48 megatron is because he looks good with the universal studios exclusive deluxe evac, they work as a display for the ride experience
Core Laserbeak...maaan, Hasbro should've just reissued Takara's Movie The Best Deluxe class version (cuz the original DotM Bumblebee is decent unless you have HftD Battle Blade Bumblebee). Period. Universe Galvatron...daaamn, let's just ignore the superior Kingdom/Legacy iteration. I'll take the Titans Return one over Universe Galvy all day everyday. My worst? Only one, and it ain't even a bad figure: Kingdom Slammer. The upper body doesn't tab in so it's easy to have him in awkward positions. And they really should've given him two cannons, he looks stupid with just the one (it's worse than CW Rook & UW Nosecone combined). And there's two other figures I have (same mold) that are lucky I got'em in 2021, but they deserve to make a worst of list every single time just because of dumb design decisions taken concerning the mold: Kingdom BW Megatron, Kingdom T-Wrecks, and any other use of that mold that's in the box in robot mode. That soft plastic is so easily warped that it's very possible to be unlucky and score copies of'em where certain parts are warped *straight outta the damn box*. I think that Tyrannocon from the Jurassic Park crossover set MIGHT escape this fate ironically, as she comes packaged in beast mode whilst Megs & Wrecks are packaged in robot mode.
I like that hotshot, not because it’s good but because my dad bought it for me when I was sick, one of the last presents my dad ever bought me that he picked out. Since then he’s just got me stuff I asked for or my mum picked it out.
I sorta agree too. He really is not the best toy, but I love him because he was one of my souvenirs I got at Universal Studios when I went in 2010. I picked up him and Universe Dinobot together.
The worst one I had bought this year is probably WFC Chromia! The couple of years since she was release did not age world aka mold degernation! She was way too loose and worst of all I had to return her cos I broke her (the window screen at the feet) when I transformed her the first time!
With how expensive the PotP Female Autobots have become on the aftermarket, I'm way more mad now than I was in 2019 that Chromia can't be used as a combiner limb (and I was already kinda annoyed by that). It's definitely soured my opinion on that mold a LOT.

I got the Universe Hot Shot years ago, when he first came out, and it was the worst figure I ever bought. I was a kid and still hated it. Glad I'm not the only one.
To put that $1000 price tag in perspective, even as far as the most expensive Chug figures go, (assuming you can even get the Robot for that much at this point), for that much, you could get at least 5 Titan class figures for that price, possibly more if you can find it on sale, or the 4 most recent ones plus upgrade kits. So rather than the robot, you could get $200 (Omega Sentinel) $150 (Legacy Metroplex on sale on Amazon) $150 (Black Zarak on Amazon) $150 (Kingdom Ark) ======= $650 $40 (DNA Ark upgrade kit) $50 (DNA Metroplex upgrade kit) $129 (Black Zarak upgrade kit) ==== $220 ========= ========= $870 with $130 to spare for future figures. or $650 and $350 for future figures. I would note however, that all three of the figures already out have recently been on sale for as low as $105 in Black Zarak's case (Best buy on black friday) and $130 for metroplex at Target during their holiday sales.

Worst figure I got? SS BB Arcee. I despise her so much and I'm glad I got her for cheap. Everything is nice and tight but the connection of the torso is so loose that just trying to move an arm will cause it to untab. Best figure I got? Literally New Years Eve, Generation Selects Shattered Glass Optimus Prime. My god, just an incredible figure all around. How we went from a mini masterpiece to Laser Prime I will never understand

I'm a an 39, with a mental condition. So I buy a sh*t ton of toys, I can't for the life of me know what I bought in 2022... That's going to take like 2 hours. I might do that.
I'm very oculated in my toy buying, so even the worst grabs I have, do their job. So I'm gonna have to go with SS rumble/frenzy. I wanted a cassette bot, and he's a cassette bot. The head needed more study for the transformation, the piledivers are either a slither too short ot too long, the rifles on the back unplug easilly. It's exactly what I wanted, in the color I wanted, the size I wanted, and the posability I wanted, it just fell into the "and that's all" category

My worst was road thing the recolor of legacy arcee mine sucked it was bad trash I got him and I told my mom the same day "let's return him the mold sucks".
Thats what alot of people did, that and for prime, but if you decided to buy it, the other figures are not bad, except bumblbee, but that’s mainly qc issues. Prime looks good in robot mode, poses decently, but transformation is a bit frustrating, and im scared of the fact his entire torso is made of clear plastic. Ratchet is alright, the mold itself has a few issues specifically with the legs, but other than that its a pretty solid figure. Jazz is awsome, his paint looks amazing, his vehicle mode is really good, his robot mode is great, overall just really nice. And ironhide is my favorite figure from it, other than paint chiping i can’t complain about it, its a solid figure. Also on my prime i noticed stress marks on the hinges that connect the arms to the torso, and the bottom grill tab broke, but thats seems common for the mold. Overall its not bad, just be carefull with the qc

studio series bumblebee has so many issues i have 49 and i would not recommend loose joints tabs that suck

If you ask me, I will say without a shred of irony that I would 100% recommend the Jada RC Prime over the Robosen Prime.

That's interesting, I really like my Slammer. I mostly keep him in either tank or robot mode, but i also find the weaponiser stuff it can fun.

I gathered about as much from Thew's review. Universe Hotshot is hands down one of the worst TF toys I have ever owned in my collecting phase. Since it was fairly rare apparently I had no problem selling it off to another collector back in the day. Not sure yet how I feel about the Legacy one, but I imagine it's a huge improvement. Only TF I actually did buy on a whim was the heavily discounted Earthrise Arcee for my one remaining TF display shelf. Surprised not to see her on the list as she's literally a shellformer, with the no use for about half the car other than to stand on it. Not the worst figure I've owned but far from impressed.

Worst figures for me this year have got to be Legacy Prime Arcee and Pointblank.
Prime Arcee because it's just an ugly mess that fails to capture the essence of the actual design.
Pointblank because of the ugly proportions, poor articulation, and the beginning of the downgrade of the Targetmasters by making them folding bricks now.
My worst is core legacy shockwave. After the first transformation it’s head refused to fully pop back up and is stuck looking down into it’s torso, so I just keep him in gun mode and give him to SG Jetfire. Still extremely disappointing for a figure that has gotten really positive reception.
His legs are also really loose on mine, so I only ever display him in robot mode on Armored Up Galactic Man Shockwave’s robot mode back like a little man, riding Galactic Man Shockwave in his vehicle mode, or in vehicle mode as a gun for Robot Mode shockwave. That’s it.
Usually I read thumbnails before titles, so in my head this video is “Sh!t Top 10”

@@TekuJames Arcee is bad as a figure, and bad as an update to the Prime design. The transformation sucks, the articulation is mid, the QC is disgusting, it looks bad in robot mode, and the bike mode is so/so. Worst figure I picked up this year.
Skywarp is fine, like I said, other than the top 3, none of my “worst” figures of the year are that bad, they just rank the lowest of my pick ups. He probably would be off the list entirely if they hadn’t gotten rid of the null rays, since that was my one major issue with the figure.

Studio Series car Shatter, all around horrid
Universe Blaster, didn't know that Soundwave mold was so clunky and unstable
Star Wars crossover Darth Maul, plastic so brittle it fragmented in my hands and ironically broke in half at the waist
Unique Toys Desperado, but only the one I bought from TFSource......who ordered the unpainted ones for their inventory by mistake. Full refund, ShowZ customer now.
For best Ill keep it short. Studio Series car Dropkick, Toy World build a figure Starscream, Alternators Wheeljack, and King of the Sniper.
I got SW crossover Grevious, the ones that turns into his monocycle, broke on first attempt at conversion, literally fell apart trying to convert back.
The only reason I got studio series 48 megatron is because he looks good with the universal studios exclusive deluxe evac, they work as a display for the ride experience
Core Laserbeak...maaan, Hasbro should've just reissued Takara's Movie The Best Deluxe class version (cuz the original DotM Bumblebee is decent unless you have HftD Battle Blade Bumblebee). Period.
Universe Galvatron...daaamn, let's just ignore the superior Kingdom/Legacy iteration. I'll take the Titans Return one over Universe Galvy all day everyday.
My worst? Only one, and it ain't even a bad figure: Kingdom Slammer. The upper body doesn't tab in so it's easy to have him in awkward positions. And they really should've given him two cannons, he looks stupid with just the one (it's worse than CW Rook & UW Nosecone combined).
And there's two other figures I have (same mold) that are lucky I got'em in 2021, but they deserve to make a worst of list every single time just because of dumb design decisions taken concerning the mold: Kingdom BW Megatron, Kingdom T-Wrecks, and any other use of that mold that's in the box in robot mode. That soft plastic is so easily warped that it's very possible to be unlucky and score copies of'em where certain parts are warped *straight outta the damn box*. I think that Tyrannocon from the Jurassic Park crossover set MIGHT escape this fate ironically, as she comes packaged in beast mode whilst Megs & Wrecks are packaged in robot mode.

I like that hotshot, not because it’s good but because my dad bought it for me when I was sick, one of the last presents my dad ever bought me that he picked out. Since then he’s just got me stuff I asked for or my mum picked it out.
I sorta agree too. He really is not the best toy, but I love him because he was one of my souvenirs I got at Universal Studios when I went in 2010. I picked up him and Universe Dinobot together.

The worst one I had bought this year is probably WFC Chromia! The couple of years since she was release did not age world aka mold degernation! She was way too loose and worst of all I had to return her cos I broke her (the window screen at the feet) when I transformed her the first time!

With how expensive the PotP Female Autobots have become on the aftermarket, I'm way more mad now than I was in 2019 that Chromia can't be used as a combiner limb (and I was already kinda annoyed by that). It's definitely soured my opinion on that mold a LOT.

I only got one figure I was disappointed with this year and it was Siege Astrotrain. Mostly for the scale, he was just less than I’d hoped for.

I got the Universe Hot Shot years ago, when he first came out, and it was the worst figure I ever bought. I was a kid and still hated it. Glad I'm not the only one.

Worst figure I got? SS BB Arcee. I despise her so much and I'm glad I got her for cheap. Everything is nice and tight but the connection of the torso is so loose that just trying to move an arm will cause it to untab. Best figure I got? Literally New Years Eve, Generation Selects Shattered Glass Optimus Prime. My god, just an incredible figure all around. How we went from a mini masterpiece to Laser Prime I will never understand

I wanted a cassette bot, and he's a cassette bot. The head needed more study for the transformation, the piledivers are either a slither too short ot too long, the rifles on the back unplug easilly.
It's exactly what I wanted, in the color I wanted, the size I wanted, and the posability I wanted, it just fell into the "and that's all" category

Thats what alot of people did, that and for prime, but if you decided to buy it, the other figures are not bad, except bumblbee, but that’s mainly qc issues. Prime looks good in robot mode, poses decently, but transformation is a bit frustrating, and im scared of the fact his entire torso is made of clear plastic. Ratchet is alright, the mold itself has a few issues specifically with the legs, but other than that its a pretty solid figure. Jazz is awsome, his paint looks amazing, his vehicle mode is really good, his robot mode is great, overall just really nice. And ironhide is my favorite figure from it, other than paint chiping i can’t complain about it, its a solid figure. Also on my prime i noticed stress marks on the hinges that connect the arms to the torso, and the bottom grill tab broke, but thats seems common for the mold. Overall its not bad, just be carefull with the qc
