Making Harry Potter's Wand (First Design)

- The third wand showcased in the films belongs to Harry Potter. This particular wand design is notable as it is known as the "IKEA" wand.
It was featured in both "The Philosopher's Stone" and "The Chamber of Secrets" before undergoing a redesign in "The Prisoner of Azkaban" to look more organic.
I will be making Harry's second wand design, in the order that it first appears in the movies! :D

Was that first wand ever used in the films aside from that scene in Ollivanders?
Yeah I believe so :)
That wand was used in the films Harry Potter and Philosopher’s Stone/Sorcerer’s Stone and Chamber of Secrets. The wands along with the hogwarts robes were changed in Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban.
Great attempt!! What did you use to stain/ preserve the wand?
I’m a newbie to wand making (just released a video about my first attempts) and trying to learn more!
Thanks so much! I use a variety of different stains depending on which wood I'm using. The brand I primarily use is Varathane. I'll also add some bees wax or a protective layer of polyurethane after the stain, depending on the wand.

How long is it?
It's just over 14 inches. I went based off of the length of Harry's second wand design from the movies. I could have made it 11 inches like in the books, but I thought it would have looked a little small 😅

Oh nice! I'll check him out! Was going to make it out of holly, but it's pretty tough to get holly wood blanks where I'm located
