I'm a country rock music fan and I really like this album. I'd actually love to see them do another album like this in the future. This album has some great songwriting, some great guitar work, and some really unique songs. Still, as is typical, the best song was left off the album...Walk Like a Man. A couple of the other b-sides were brilliant too like Lonely and Put the Boy Back in Cowboy.

I never bothered with this album. Recently I took another listen to it and oh man. I love almost every single song. I don’t mind We Got it Going On but every other song I love. Not even the biggest country fan either and it’s just something fresh and the songwriting is really good

I came into Bon Jovi when Have A Nice Day was new, Have A Nice Day, Who Says You Can't Go Home, and Welcome To Wherever You Are were all over the radio. I got the album, wore out the cd before Lost Highway came out.
Hearing a country album come out for this band was awkward, to say the least, but it kind of felt like a natural detour for me at the time. Plus, good chance to hear Bon Jovi, my favorite band, while my mom was just listening to country radio. This album kept me where I needed to be at a rather vulnerable point in my life, and the first half is just packed with stuff I love. It was just the songs I needed at that time in my life.

When it was released I did t like it at all, it set on the shelf for a good two years, one day I decided to listen to it again, and for months it was the only thing I listened for months. I think it is a great album, the back vocals are the strongest and in my opinion one of the best thing here. Richie did amazing. It is still one of my favorites. It will never beat these days and Bon Jovi though! Love you channel man!

Summer 2021, I have listened to this album on holidays at least 12 times (about once a day) and "summertime" has become the symbol of these holidays and I hope for the next ones too
We got it going on it's fantastic live
I love any other day, whole lot of leavin and memory
I like all the songs of this album, it gives me good vibes, it makes me think summer; it's not that good but if it makes me happy, it's good and i like it

Lovin' this quality content my fellow Jovi Junkie! Keep up the good work! Funny actually, I recently went through every single Bon Jovi record myself and was trying to rate them all and figure out what my top 5 favorite albums are from them. It's definitely not easy. In fact I'm still trying to figure it out a bit. I gotta say I tend to agree with you more than not. All that being said I will say Crush, Bounce, and HAND are definitely 3 out of the 5 that always make the top 5. Currently Crush is my #1 favorite by a hair over some. I look forward for when you get to reviewing those 3 awesome albums.

Great review as always, but I still don‘t really like the album, and don‘t get me wrong, I love Who says you cant go home (both versions) but the Lost Highway album isnt my favorite, I mean, its not a bad album at all, but in my opinion its not a briliant album either.
But very nice that you work so hard and released the second review in a week and I‘m looking forward to the next review.
One suggestion: At the end of every review you could show a ranking with the scores of every album you reviewed so far, so that we don‘t have to remember every album score from the past videos.
    But great video series anyway!

  • @sarizonana
    @sarizonana ปีที่แล้ว

I’d like to ask you something as a fellow Bon Jovi fan : what do you think of Aerosmith and Queen my two other favorite Rock/Pop bands?
Do you like them, I think their style is quite similar to Bon Jovi and yet different.
Here is the thing: right after finishing Thor Love and thunder in theaters I was looking for more cool rock/pop songs like. Sweet child of mine and checked covers from the reality tv show: the voice.
With that show I became a fan of Bon Jovi but realized their music reminded me a lot to Queen and felt like an idiot that even though I loved Bohemian rhapsody didn’t do my rock/ pop research sooner. After Bohemian just stayed with Queen.
And now after loving Bon Jovi I re checked a lot of Aerosmith music and I’m really liking it. Especially their 90s stuff that many fans hate.
But what do you think of Queen and Aerosmith ?
Do you think they are like duhh the obvious two other favorite bands of every Bon Jovi Fan. Like it makes too much sense that almost every Bon Jovi fan is also an Aerosmith and Queen fan too ?

When this album came out, i was nervous. Bon Jovi going country? I was 17 and a huge Bon Jovi and huge rock fan, and i hated country (i don't hate country anymore, I'm not a fan of it but i like a few country songs here and there, it's better than pop music today lol) and though this album rankes fairly low for me back then, i was relieved that it wasn't country, it was just Bon Jovi with a hint of country here and there.
Lost Highway: I'm not crazy about this song, but it's ok. I don't need to skip it when it comes on but i hardly ever go out of my way for it. 6/10
Summertime: I've always loved this song from first listen, it's just a fun summertime song, love that it starts off kinda hard, love the riff and solo even though it's fairly simple, one of my favorites on the album. 10/10
(You Want To) Make A Memory: despite being a slower song for first single, i liked it from first listen, not my favorite song on the album but solid. Love the piano usage in the song. 7/10
Whole Lot of Leavin': super catchy song, musically and lyrically, always been a highlight for me. 9/10
We Got It Going On: it's country, kinda cheesy, but i love it, love Richie's solo with the talkbox is awesome, love this song probably more than i should lol 8/10
Any Other Day: kinda like Bullet, this song frustrates me a bit, because i LOVE this song through the first verse and chorus... some of Jon's best work lyrically, chorus is awesome, but the lyrics kinda change direction in verse two and i don't really care for it. richie's guitar work is incredible as always and despite me not caring for the lyrics in the second verse im still going 8/10
Seat Next to You: my initial thought was that this song was boring, but it's grown on me over the years, still not a favorite but it's a nice song. 6/10
Everybody's Broken: lyrics for the most part are really good, mostly very catchy, i think you hit the nail on the head with that, all in all though i would think id like this song more than i do but I'm only going 7/10
Til We Ain't Strangers Anymore: i really hate this song lol never liked it and nothing about it do i find redeeming, one of my least favorite jovi songs... and its a shame a song like Walk Like A Man didn't make the album. 1/10
The Last Night: Here is where we disagree lol always loved this song, great pick me up lyrics, i always found it catchy, sort of an under the radar favorite of mine. 9/10
One Step Closer: great lyrics, super catchy song, love Jon's vocals, another one we disagree on because this is a favorite of mine lol 10/10
I Love This Town: my original thought when i saw the song title was that this is going to be a terrible part 2 to Who Says. Well it's certainly not terrible lol what i love most about the song is that it just puts you in a good mood, perfect way to end the album. 9/10
I really love this album, it's grown on me over the years and it's only real hiccup is Strangers imo

Not my favorite but I'm all for giving a something else a go and after HAND we needed something a bit different. I think Make A Memory is probably their best ballad since Always and there's some decent stuff on here. We Got It Goin on is always a blast live. Any Other Day is excellent especially the extended play out when live. Towards the end the songs just all blend into one and they become a bit forgettable but the first 7 songs are decent. One complaint - when Live we really don't need the Lost Highway and Whole Lotta Leavin' combo - it kills the atmosphere at gigs - lose them! I got the Australian edition for the bonus songs Walk Like A Man, Lonely and Put The Cowboy Back in Cowboy which are really great songs and its a shame they didn't make the general release. Lost Highway scores 6/10

LHW..Leaving..Any other day..The last night.all .great ones to me.

This album has some serious stuff, and here in the Italian community was overall very well received at the time - at least on par, if not better than "Have a Nice Day", to say one. But country (or pseudo-pop-country as in this case) is not my cup of tea. I hate Bon Jovi when tries to follow trends. Boring.
