Love your vlogs as a fellow third grade teacher! I’m surprised your kids have to write historical fiction pieces, I bet that’s tricky for them. Is it? We only have to do personal narrative, informational nonfiction, opinion and fairytales. With that said we are getting a new curriculum next year so who knows, maybe we will next year!
We had the same thought when we reached this point in the curriculum! We’ve taken babyyyy steps and provided a lot of guidance and the students have made great progress! Something that really helped was narrowing down topics - we encouraged the students to write about the Underground Railroad time period, since we’ve been learning about that during social studies and they’ve built a lot of prior knowledge!
I teach fifth grade in the hood in an old, run-down school. It’s awful; kids are extremely disrespectful making it hard to teach 24 kids, 1/3 of whom are at least one year below grade level. I envy your situation though any teaching is challenging. I’m considering quitting this week. Enjoying your vlogs.
Welcome back♥️ here in Florida, we've been back in school for almost two weeks now. Love your vlogs. 🙃
Work/ life balance is so important. I'm glad that you took your full break for you and not work.
That was a steal on those Clixo activities.
Thank you for all of your sweet words! And for watching 😊
