I've had mine for a little over a year now I've had the WX5 with the VL70M for over 20 years. Also the WX11 with the WT11 module. One of the reasons I wanted the YDS 150 is so I could practice without needing to set up a bunch of gear. It is good for that but not much else! I feel it is a huge step backwards for Yamaha. First of all, taking about the reed sensor, reduces the expressiveness by at least half! It is a huge omission. Yamaha, what were you thinking? Also, I haven't figured out how to use it as a midi controller without going through a computer. I would like to use it for live situations, running directly into, one of my synths of samplers, especially through my MFC10. If there is a way to do this, please let me know. Why not just put a midi jack on it? Like I said, I really think this is giant step backwards, no pun intended. I've been using Yamaha gear for way over 20 years, in fact my first multi-timbral synth was an FB-01 but I really regret buying the YDS-150, I almost bought the Roland, wish I would have now. It is a much better instrument. Again, what were you thinking?????
Hello, I just got my YDS-150 today. I plugged in the power via the USB cord and adapter to the wall. I tried to play it for the first time and only could get exactly one same sound coming out no matter what key(s) I pressed. I couldn't find any help from the manual regarding this problem. Have I missed something such as a setup or installation of this instrument. I thought it just needs to power up and ready to play out of the box. Thank you for your help.
love it, but come on Yamaha for the price dont you think you should supply batteries? you wait for the delivery and then you have to go buy batteries before you can use it.

hi ...which headphones to choose for this saxophone? 32 or 80 or 250 ohms...thanks for answer...
Can you connect it to bluetooth headphones?
Cant wait to try it!
The keys of the instrument are too sensitive. Can we manually adjust for this ourselves?
Can i transpose the tonality?
Back order until 04/2021 everywhere I look in the US.
Pre-ordered.
Looks cool, and realistic, and not “too professional”
Man I wish I had one of these in school...
