This was a perfect solution to my problem. I also had the exact extension cord at my house. Now just to figure out how to dry the front passenger carpet efficiently. its 6" thick....
Thank you sir very much i just ask my mechanic how much to fix that leak he said so much money and i just decided to Google is where i saw your video is very help full i will do it my self🙏🙏🙏
Dude. I don't even own an LR3, but these are some amazing videos. Love the way you draw the diagrams so that people have a better idea of what to look for. Keep up the good work!
Hmmm ... makes you wonder why my $45K Range Rover Sport engineers didn't go back later to re-engineer this problem to prevent it from reoccurring. And the same for millions of other SUVs on the road. By thank you very much for addressing this vexing problem!
Ridiculous a vehicle like this has this problem. After a recent storm, the interior looked like Joel opening the door of his dads 928 after driving it into the lake.
Ok the solution if your drains are clear but sunroof leaks in the back of sunroof. I replaced the rubber weather seal around glass, still leaked. I then loosened the 4 screws for the glass and let the glass fall and rest in the lowest position and retightened the screws and NO leak! So if you ever remove sunroof glass let it rest at lowest position then tighten the screws!
@@HazyJay whats our next project? Lolo I'm getting ready to tackle the hitachi air suspension compressor on mine, I watched your vid and it was exactly what I thought! Also let me know if you want me to talk about the Gap Diagnostics IID Tool, it paid for its self the very first day I had it!
@@johnnyquid3350 Haha the air suspension compressor is annoying, only advice is to get a genuine hitachi replacement, the $150 ones off amazon/ebay only last like 6 months unfortunately... Oooo I need to buy the diag tool, my regular OBD2 scanner is pretty worthless unless I want to just clear check engine lights.
@@HazyJay Oh I was always going with the hitachi direct replacement. Although the IID tool can flash ecu's and set suspension height at any level and figure out all the chrismas lights, it literally does everything could want i can make a vid and send it to ya just going over the basics and stuff. One trip to dealer for codes and it pays for its self, I have it plugged in 24/7 and I check codes every time I start it up.
Thank you for sharing! I'm trading my LR in tomorrow, and wouldn't you know it the sun roof started to leak on me. Turns out there was a couple small acorns in there and one finally moved down and was stopping up the hole enough to make it leak if it rained heavily. The tube wasn't clogged but I ran a wire down like you instructed just to make sure.
Hi buddy is me again. Do you know why a 2006 Range Rover Sport sunroof wont open even after holding the open and closing sunroof button for 30-45 second. Any other suggestions from your experiences? Fuses seem to be fine (physically though)
Has it leaked since? I have a small leak in the back part of sunroof, so I bought the sunroof glass weather strip, dealer part but you can find em. I removed the glass, two hex heads on both sides, then removed old seal, and replaced with new seal. BUT when you go to put the glass back in there is room to adjust the level of the glass, so its tricky and I'm not sure I got mine perfect. So when the screws are in but not tight you can move glass all the way up or all down or somewhere in-between. Mind you its not even a fraction of an inch but it could make a difference! So I pushed glass upward and tightened all the screws that way, then held the vent button until it reset its self . Let me know if anyone else has removed glass and reinstalled and how you decided the placement of the glass before you tightened all the screws down! Thanks 2009 RR Sport
There hasn't been any leaks since. The screws should be tightened to hold the glass against any gasket that in place, but typically 100% of the water will fall off the glass and into the collecting reservoir where the drains are located anyway.
@@HazyJay Problem is there is no collection reservoir in the back of the sunroof, its only in the front and i think everything is supposed to flow from back to front. So if the back isn't angled properly it won't flow toward reservoir!?? Sound right or no?
@@johnnyquid3350 Everything should flow back to front before it overflows, if some water gets into the back of the reservoir (like when you drive and the wind pushes it to the back of the glass) it should still flow to the front eventually.
@@HazyJay when I can see it most is in the touch less car wash, I had to put a towel there every time. Well hopefully the angle of the glass is correct or ill have to fiddle with it!
Good video - I've had success using weed trimmer line to clean out the drains on my rovers.
Saved me from these Cali storms going on right now🙏🏼 Worked perfectly, also sprayed some air into it

I did this with weed eater string too on jeep commander same issue more parts too remove but it works😅 excellent work 👏
Same issue with my 06 LR3. Snake it clean then replace the nipple into the drain hole behind the side vent. It works. Thanks.

It's crazy how something so small can cause such huge problems, and if you took it to the dealer they might recommend replacing the whole sunroof 😂
My job for the weekend. I have water coming in from the ceiling front light....
Great ideas!
I will be doing this tomorrow. Thanks !
Hi mate video can you tell me please is there a drain pipe on both sides of the sport or just on the near side please

Brother mine is the driver side do I do same method? Watching from Texas
Yes, the drain is identical on the driver side and drains at the same place 👌👌

why don’t you just change the weatherstrip on sunroof?

The problem here is why is it even leaking first of all. Why is the water inside? Why not find a way to stop the water from coming inside
