I don't disagree with you, but there is a reason why curry houses have replaced pie and mash shops in the East End. Because curry is nice and pie and mash is gross. Preserving a culture for preservation's sake is crazy. Cultures can evolve or they can become extinct.

@@G4RY1159 What I hear almost no one mentioning was that it was the female electorate that made up the majority of the lefts vote for the last 100 years. They couldn't have won an election without them. They are the naïve bleeding hearts holding the refugees welcome signs.
I think we found the reason no long lasting feminist or matriarchal society exists in the historical record. Women are so kind and loving and soft hearted that they happily give the country away to hostile invaders without firing a shot.
Dangerously naïve, and I don't see the west ever reversing on women's suffrage until after it has been islamified. It's mathematical and predictable. Truth is staring us in the face but we cannot accept it.

I live in Devon and have done since the early 90's. In the last 5-8 years we have seen an increase in Londoners moving here. They're not just here to stay in their second homes but many have moved permanently. The amount of London type accents I hear now are numerous compared to say 10 years ago.
I've read a number of reports recently that state that my birth city Birmingham has seen an influx of Londoners relocating due to Brum having major rebuilding work to improve the city, big companies have opened up offices there, wages are decent and house prices are better than London in terms of cost.
London is a city I would never move to, even if I was offered a great job with a fat salary with material trappings of splendour. The times I've visited the place have revealed to me a city who's people are anonymous, there's a real edge about people that is not good. On the tube people look so frickin miserable and there's no friendliness amongst folk.
Here in Devon, we say hi to each other on the streets, hi to strangers, good morning, how are you etc.
Although Devon is not what is was 20 years ago due to more and more people moving here and it becoming more busy and over crowded, it is still an amazing place to live.
London, you can keep. A lost city run by a corrupt Muslim mayor who should not be in the post and more foreigners who don't speak English than actual English speaking or English born people.

I moved to London from the North of England in 1988. It was still very much the nation's capital and had a kind of post-60's vibe but quite unique, typified by the New Romantics pop music surge. There were, of course, ghetto-ised parts such as Notting Hill and Brixton, but it was still essentially English in its culture. Most of my neighbours were white, ALL my co-workers were white, most everyone - including the Afro-Caribbean - spoke English with a Southern dialect. Cockneys were still to be found. It got touristy in the Summer, but not unbearably so.
I finally returned to the North last year, from a completely different city. Society is much more divided and stratified. American `ghetto-culture' has become so dominant that the Southern accent has been replaced by a west-Indian patois, even by white people. It has become suspicious and wary - not just of crime, but of the spoken word. Everyone is quietly self-sensoring their speech. Everyone seems to be aware that they are under surveillance, not just from the thousands of CCTV cameras (which now have facial-recognition and lip-reading software), but of course in that timeframe we changed from call-boxes to smartphones, so that anybody anywhere - in the office, on the train, in the pub, whatever - might be covertly filming and recording you, only to post it online, which could well ultimately cost you your job. Covid with its obsessions about mask mandates, social-distancing, sanitization, isolation and lockdowns has added another layer of paranoia - which hasn't gone away. Brexit has caused a further social rift, and more recently, political correctness, me-too, wokery, BLM, white privilege, slavery reparation, gender orientation, trans-rights and pronoun obsession, Just Stop Oil, veganism, climate change, have piled on prohibitions against spontaneity. London has become a frightened city. Except among the criminals, who now run amok, often unchallenged. Londoners do not relish in their native English culture or achievements, they don't extol and admire the fine historical architecture. The only thing they seem willing to be proud of is gender dysphoria. The celebrations they most avidly endorse did not originate in this land. Even the Proms have become a venue to advertise the EU...

This situation is NOT simply confined to major cities; it is happening all over. A small town near where I live has been "transformed" in months, not years. What I'd like to know is where the original dwellers disappear to at a gallop to be replaced by non-English speaking people of all ages. To all intents, they seem to disappear into the ether, never to be seen again. These "changes" are happening at breakneck speed and must be being facilitated at Government level.

    I'm also not British,
    but I can't agree more.
If you're a guest in some country,
you have to act and behave as a guest.
You need to adapt yourself to that country, not the opposite.
You need to learn their language,
you need to respect the culture,
laws, rules and lifestyle in that country.
If you're trying to change everyone and everything around you, just because you don't want to respect the fact that nothing will be the same as in your native country if you are not willing to respect the differences between your former home and your current home,
    just leave.
I'm from the Czech Republic 🇨🇿
and I'm a blood donor here in the UK.
I'm registered as an organ donor.
I'm not receiving any benefits. When I'm shopping,
    I'm checking every single thing,
from toothpaste to yoghurt to make sure that everything is made in the UK to support British manufacturers and farmers.
If there is no country of
origin, or if it's not from the UK,
    I'm not buying that item.
    I'm also checking the barcodes
because the three first digits of a barcode mean the country of origin.
I'm not trying to change the others, but I'm trying to adapt as much as possible.
    I'm not breaking any rules,
I have even bought a book about etiquette to be sure,
there aren't any differences between what I have been taught as a child, because my parents gave me a book about etiquette when I was 10 years old.
    Luckily, everything is the same.
The immigration law should have been stricter, and more specific about the ability to stay here.
    No English, no job.
    No respect for the country,
    rules, law, culture, etc,
    just go back.

    London has fallen.
We need to acknowledge that it is beyond rationalising with British culture now.
It should be cut a drift before it pulls the rest of the UK down with it.
Look at Singapore and its split from Malaysia and you will understand how this has happened. AND SINGAPORE was just due to large Hong-Kong Chinese, London has every nationality under the sun represented apart from British.
My family has lived here for as long as it can be traced, i have multiple relatives that fought to defend it- yet i walk down London streets and feel like a foreigner in my own nations capital.-is that right or fair or even safe?

These days, if you say you're English, you'll be arrested and thrown in jail.

Does anybody remember Pearly Kings and Queens? There is plenty of black and white film taken I think in the fifties which shows their history and traditions. Cockney accents are wonderfully historic and English to the core. Lovely old London has been done away with.
