    It doesn't matter whether or not Mr. Stroud understands the impact he has had on people over the years, but it (is) important that those among us that he has helped acknowledge his efforts. You need to give credit where credit is due. Thank you sir, I appreciate you.

    When you mentioned that the black circle(camera) helped you stay focused because you were teaching 10 year olds how to survive that really hit me because I remember seeing the plane crash episode (s1e8) for the first time and being fascinated by how you skinned the rabbit (according to when that episode aired I was probably 16 though). That is still my favorite episode and it's how I found your TH-cam channel. So when I killed my first rabbit earlier this year (2022) that episode is where I first went to see how to process the rabbit. I didn't do nearly as good a job of skinning it, but I do still have the pelt!

    YES! PLEASE PLEASE do more of the "apocalypse/ urban survival".... i remmber the episode from back in the day, and it was on of my favorites............ ive always wanted more, still do.... would love a whole series. id binge watch it all in a heart beat, probably multiple times.
    i would love to see different situations, like floods, fires, and other variables that could be unique in each episode..... see different types of urban survival, like living in a small town.... big city....... industrial areas.....see different ways to make use of the different types of infrastructurers.

    I definitely look forward to this training with Survivorman video series. I empathize greatly with the sentiment of not wanting the gym experience to be fit. I've had your Camillus machete for a few years. On a camping trip a few weeks ago, I was driving it through a log I was splitting with another log and it snapped in half. I plan to get another one, but even snapped, the half with the handle is still remarkably useful.

    25:35 - at about 0:53 into your Labrador episode here on YT there's a sign in the background, looks like "Northern Lights" on the fence, while you were getting maybe B-roll footage for the dog sled team? If so, the address for that place when I Google it now is: Courte Reale Rd. Happy Valley-Goose Bay, NL - not sure if that sounds right?

    Some of the best good sense about knives I've heard. I like having a big sturdy knife with me when I'm out hiking or camping but I'm not under any illusion that it's the most essential thing. I think there's psychological comfort in having one and knives are cool so they get a lot of emphasis but there's no question a fire starting method is going to be much more actually useful in most survival scenarios

    • @syreallewyatt5048
      @syreallewyatt5048 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      yeah, during that section I would tend to agree, it might not be as practical as some of the other things, obv matches are important (if you can keep them dry), but its the pysocological, "im going to be fine 'because', but maybe I guess you could argue, "no you're not b/c" .. hell I dont know.. but its a fun debate since we're not actually in danger

    Les thanks for the answer. I loved the fact that you always had a different knife for the most part. But was always curious how you chose them.

    and now You and Wes have the call in stories. which is best thing going. Maybe you could do a series on going back where some of these incredible sightings took place with the person involved. People love most of the stories. Example , Claire from England. Just to give viewers a visual of the place.

    I think it would be awesome and amazing to go on a survivor man trip to see how I would do at survival along side the legend Less Stroud.
    And I think it's great that Less still wants to continue his love of playing music.
    Less, if you do another survive man season you should play a new song on the 1st episode.
    If I were to go traveling in the wilderness I would have to take my ukulele so that I could stay sane. I would just play my music to help keep the wild animals away and to keep my mind occupied.
    I hope one day Less Stroud hits 10 million subscribers on this channel.

    You'll relate to this, my first solo through hike was the wild and scenic section of the Rogue River. I planned for 10 days on and off trail. 5 days when planned flood. 5 days without and solely living off subsistence gathering.

      John Dillinger whittled a wash board into a wooden pistol and used it to round up 3 armed guards and break out of an “inescapable” county jail with the sheriff’s personal car after his arrest as the most wanted man in America.
      Tell me again how men don’t wittle. Lol

    • @craig3829
      @craig3829 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@theenemyofstockrock yh man, a gun from a wash board, to aid his escape, seems bit more than whittling, think he had a design and rude measurements involved, bit more than sat whittling like a fanny.

    • @theenemyofstockrock
      @theenemyofstockrock ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@craig3829 there’s pictures of the “pistol” he carved that day. It’s not as impressive or advanced as you might think, and it’s unlikely he was able to take measurements and/or draft design drawings of any kind.
      My guess is that the only reason this plan worked was that he had this reputation of being an incredibly well connected, elite bank robber who was armed, dangerous, and constantly in shootouts.
      As a result, anyone who saw him point something which resembled the barrel of a firearm at them, probably didn’t want to challenge the legitimacy of whatever it was he was holding.

    I love going out into the woods for several reasons, usually either hunting, trapping, fishing, or camping. It's great to be able to get away from everything and everyone. However, I find that if I go alone, I often feel uneasy and usually leave after one sleepless and somewhat paranoid night. Something about sleeping alone in the woods makes me feel unsafe, as if I'm only safe when I'm around someone else. I don't understand why, since I'm a very introverted person in all other situations, I always take a pistol with me when alone in the wilderness, and there are few animals in the state I live in that can be dangerous to humans. Is this just because of a lack of experience, or could there be a deeper issue?

    Bough - if no has one answered yet. Is the correct spelling. I tend to only use that word when referring to big trees and in plural: 'under the boughs of the tree, or the boughs of a forest'. I guess it's not a common word anymore, or the education at schools is slipping.

    Does Les just love teaching survival, or is it just a necessity he see’s as knowing? Because if he never gets stuck in an actual situation will he feel like he’s wasted his journey of learning, or will he just be happy that he never had to put his techniques into practice. If that makes sense to anyone?
    I imagine he probably just enjoys it that much, and saying that he has definitely taught me a lot, even things where i’m just camping and I know what wood to go for and wild food I can find.

    Given the fact you have done Survivorman Bigfoot, are there other cryptids you're interested in incorporating into the Survivorman genre??

    Are there skills you've picked up through survival that have impacted/improved the way you do things in everyday life?
    For example, in high school I taught myself to juggle for fun, and I still maintain that it's one of the most unexpectedly useful skills I ever developed up, to this day. When something falls off a table or out of a cabinet, I catch it. When someone tosses something to me, I catch it.
