This was my 1st Podcast which was actually recorded back in November 23 and is available on Spotify and I'm working on Apple soon:
open.spotify.c...
I really enjoy this format and hope I can continue doing it so please feedback below and let me know what's good/what's bad but try to be constructive! ha
Big thanks to the legends at RPM Technik for letting us shoot this in your awesome space :)
Welcome! This was my 1st podcast recorded back in November and I loved it! Really want to do more and obviously need to learn the craft as I go but please feel free to point out things you liked/didn't like and what you would love to see in the future - please try and be constructive! Who would you like to see? I think interesting people, who like bikes - rather than bikers who are interesting.. if that makes sense! hahah
Hey Mr Baron! Will this be available on Google Podcast Platform, please? Thank you!
Best of luck sir baron.. 🏁🏁
As for people I'd like to see: People who've travelled on their motorcycles would have some interesting stories, maybe Ed March or Nick Sanders?
Good conversation - would be nice to see timestamps for different topics/questions , thanks
I liked it, was a good start. I have a couple of thought i didn't like, like you talking more than your guest, let him answer the question i felt you were giving to much input . Also the podcast length is to long, i tried to watch it all but is to long. But i know from here on out, you will improve on your own.
In my garage, working on my bikes…with the Baron & Neevsey chatting in the background.. Perfect! 😄🤙🏽
Changed oil, filter and air filter on mine today, sore back happily resting with a large scotch enjoying the same
why naked tho lol :D
I work on my bike outside as no garage
Good stuff Chris! Worry less about the microphone. Every time you adjusted it, it already sounded good 👍
It was great Chris, just let the guest speak a little more. Can't wait for the next one!
Already listened to this on Spotify. Came here to give it a thumbs up anyway, so you can do more. Can you get Chris Northover on at some point?
Definitely agree on Chis Northover.
+1 for Chris
Neeves taught me to get knee down on a roundabout
I lowsided trying, got elbow down, shoulder, everything
I remember that video, and I was exactly the same.
If you send him a email he show you how to get both knees down
Anywhere else too?
you dont do that.....
The mic is going to end up in Neevesys mount!
His voice is getting deeper and deeper into my ears.
🤣
Really enjoyed this, two things, all the playing with the mic made no difference, sound was spot on. And as much as I can listen to you, I did want to hear more of mikes stories.
Ed March aka c90 adventures!! Although you might not get along as he has spent years taking the piss out of gs riders like yourself lol! He’s got some amazing stories and a big loyal fan base!!
Great shout!
You could have run this podcast out to four hours and I'd have still listened to every bit of it. Neevesy is a gem of a person and a towering fount of knowledge. You've set a high bar for yourself with that one, Baron! Great work.
Neevesy ….What an absolutely fabulous top bloke. Knowledgeable, down to earth, honest views, talented rider, no BS says it as it is and many a motorcyclist top reporter. If he has imposter syndrome we are all fucked. More pods please ✊🏍💨
Love the bit where Chris is telling Neevsey how easy it is to knock out a bike review and Neevsey doesn’t even flinch.
Imagine getting a guest on and talking about yourself most of the time... You're a funny man Chrissy
Go watch a Gypsy Tales podcast, Jase does that every time !
Haha was thinking the same thing.
Completely ruined the interview talking more than Neevsy, a huge waste of an opportunity to interview and hear from an icon in the industry!
It's a podcast, not an interview, and if this is the relevant stuff Chris can talk to Neevesy about, let him, I was perfectly interested in Chris' view and impressions of racing and getting into journalism from someone's POV that's not very confident, and Neevesy POV in response to that from a long running professional background.
Maybe Neevsy wanted Chris to talk? ever think about that?
Great first attempt, BVG, perhaps a few more questions to the guest so they can talk more, however this was very entertaining, and natural
Two of my favorite motorcycle guys for two hours...heavenly.
Neevesy.....indeed the master journo! Whenever looking at the next purchase he's the guy I go to first to check on reviews - he just "gets it" and translates his experience in the way I understand. Total legend - we bow to you lad
You've got the set up bang on Chris - loved this, and a bonus that you have my favourite journo as your first guest - a fascinating conversation - especially the TH-cam related stuff which is of course of interest to me. Although we come at this game from very different places and likely have different audiences I couldn't help myself agreeing with pretty much everything you said.....great start, keep 'em coming!!
Love how Neevesy goes from interviewee to interviewer. He is great at putting others in the limelight. He is also the reason why I decided to buy my 22 panigale v4s, insane bit of kit.
So good you bought 22 of them 😮
@@jamsstar2010 😂 wish I had that much money to buy 22 of them
Not even Rossi, Marc and stoner combined can make me buy Ducati V4, the heat from the bike is absolutely ridiculous.
You actually fucked the audio up by moving Neevsy's mic! It was fine and then you made him WAY louder than you and then louder again on the second move. It's digital recording man. As long as it's not clipping its fine!
I've been waiting for you to have a go at this Baron 🙏🙏🙏
Neevesy …. Living legend !!! Hugely entertaining - well done 🎉
Move away from the sound checker 😂 Your mic was further away than Neeves. It was distracting me from what Neeves was saying, as i was too busy watching you checking the sound 😅 Apart from that, really enjoyed.
2 of the best bike journalists there is. Fantastic stuff!
STOP INTERRUPTING YOUR GUEST ALL THE TIME! LET HIM FINISH WHAT HE HAS TO SAY!!!!
2:08:18 The most sorted Race bike / Superbike with the best of the best components outside of MotoGP, WSB or BSB must be the BMW HP4 Race as you’ve said before on 44Teeth.
Chris. Let him talk! 🤣
You should focus more on the guest and less on yourself. You are the interviewer, not the interviewee.
Or are we mates chatting? 🤔
Yes, that’s a fair point.
I thought the same. Not a criticism, just depends what the format is supposed to be I guess. Two mates chatting was still entertaining.
@@BaronVonGrumble Chatting means leaving the others also say what they have to say. You constantly kept interrupting Neevesy and going on all sorts of tangents. Let the others finish what they have to say first. 90% of what Neevesy said was "yeah", "aha", "yeah-yeah", "sure", "mhm".
It's like with that Aussie guy who interviews the likes of Stoner and Doohan who constantly wants them to hear his story, which is lame. @@GGMM42
Poor bastard couldn't get a word in sideways. If you're going to interview someone give them the stage and don't interupt them. Just another episode of the Chris and Chris Show.
I remember that MCN competition and was tempted to enter but I had a steady job at the time (which folded up about a year later) and voted for Neevsey as he was the home town boy for here in Kent and because I knew his brother. They definitely got the best bloke for the job though. I have seen him at a few trackdays since and we were once running similar pace (about 2007? ish) then he suddenly got loads better....and I didnt!
Love that chat, very organic. My only suggestion, try to talk a little less. It felt like you talked a lot more than Neevsy and he ended up asking you questions.
the fiddling of Neevesys mic by Baron was fucking hilarious cringe comedy. Neeves just saying awkwardly "ok" each time. dw it's good cringe. love it.
You couldn’t have chosen a better first guest! Love both of your work!! Cheers from America 🎉
Neeves has been the idol in the motorcycling journalism arena, glad you managed to get him on, MCN with him became so much better. Great podcast, would be nice to see some BSB/WSB racers interviewed maybe Troy baylis definitely a favourite 👍
Doesn’t it drive you mad when he looks at that sound level while Michael is talking? So rude. Don’t worry Chris the podcast sounds great.
Brilliant! Love this Not sure who was interviewing who! Well done both of you! 2 genuine Guys sharing stories. Fantastic. Must be good because this is the first video of actually commented on in 3 years! Looking forward to the next one👍🏼
Loved playing this in the background as I Potter about WELL DONE..
Chris from bikeworld would be a great guest????
That's a good shout 👌🏻
Who's the guest ? Neevsy or baron?.....
Neeves is such a nice chilled, laid-back guy, and a fountain of bike information. And always give the best and correct advice.
Turned into an interview of Chris 😂
Not complaining though, great pod.
Was just at MCN Motorcycle Show in London. Saw Mr Neeves, thought what a decent bloke. Always enjoy the bike reviews 😊... and it's due to his review I got the BMW s1000rr 😅
People in the States don't understand how strict it is here (in the UK)? Get caught doing 50 mph in a 25 mph limit in many counties within my state (GA) and you're looking at your bike impounded and two weeks in jail (minimum). Think about that, Baron!
Can you interview the owner Ricky of RE performance??? He loves 44teeth
I can't believe Neevesy had imposter syndrome! He is the absolute pinnacle of motorcycle journalists.
I loved this BVG! 👍🏻
2:09:36 That was Ben Dover who said that....
Heard Neevesy talked about this some time ago - I have been searching podcast apps for this. Great stuff
Loved this :) obviously Johnny Palmer from MSV invested hid stolen Brinks mat robbery gold wisely.
Yet another new podcast... but this time hosted by someone that should definitely be doing a podcast! Great episode, also recorded just down the road from me 😎
An interesting , relaxing couple of hours Chris because you both kept it normal with no ego’s bouncing off each other.
Neevesy is a decent chap and easy to listen to and engage with which is exactly what you want.
Id say, keep it real, be different and interview and just chat with normal people because everyone has a story to tell, which is the reason you set up “Good to Torque”👍
'Permission to torque'
I'm in video game media and it's all the same storylines. Always undercut by kids who just want to play games, and companies exploit that.
Mr Neeves is the motorcyclists motorcyclist..
Wait, who's interviewing who?
This was fantastic, long form bike content is just great to hear and as an Aussie, I still gel more naturally with Brits than Americans. Love highside/lowside but this instantly felt more like two of my mates chatting than watching a show on the TV and I think that's a good thing.
You guys decent from there though? Maybe
Really enjoyed hearing from a 90s legend and Chris you weren’t bad either 👍
After watching it I think long form is great! Maybe stick a power bank or something on the camera so you don’t have to faff with the battery stuff, and also maybe pop some headphones on so you can hear each other rather than having to keep checking the mic levels visually….. but overall loved it! Would love to have more ‘TH-cam people’ on so could add to my subscription list as the more bike related content in my feed the better! But overall great first one…. Can’t wait for the next! Cheers Chris!
The constant mic adjusting was a bit awks lol
Loved this Chris, but I think you owe Neevesy some money for the therapy
I really enjoyed that. As for who to have on, try to avoid the circle jerking that happens on Car TH-cam where they all just have videos with each other.
This is what a Podcast is about, easily listening and time flies by. Well done on the choice of guest for the first one. Can only wonder what would have been said about the newly released R1300 GS Adventure...........
That 911 poster is iconic. Great podcast very interesting the new gs I rode a couple of weeks ago It’s ace very different but the same. My 1250 gsa will be staying but when the times right the new 1300 gsa will be incoming.
Oh yea! A cup of tea and couple of ham sandwiches with this, perfect friday evening! Thank you Baron. Love from Romania.
The 90’s PB’s were amazing, the photography of the stripped down bikes the production values were fantastic. Mark Forsythe was my hero. Love Neevesey, I like Al too but the childish public school knob jokes … grow up. Shame in this interview Neevesy only spoke for 20% of the time
Great stuff Chris, excellent podcast and Neevesy was interviewing you a lot of the time, what an enjoyable 2 hours, Neevesy is such a nice chap, keep up the great content Chris.
Fab long rambling chat😅. Brilliant. Maybe talk about why crap F1 yawnfest gets TV and media but not BSB or Moto gp?? Why getting a licence is a full load bucket of crap!? Tooo much costs.,..Andrew selmes
I find Most moto content on tubes is not very educational or in depth . Mostly just reciting the spec sheet that you can read online yourself and maybe some good cinematic shots, but rarely you get a good load down from experienced rider who can actually open the bloody throttle during the test. I like 44T, Neevsey and Chris from BikeWorld the most. Although sometimes on these big launches I do understand that negatives or weaknesses are not well covered for obvious reasons.
Congrats on your virgin podcast, Chris. The only time i cringed a little was when you were saying how easy it is to churn out a bike review.....in front of the super professional and polite Mr Neeves🤭
BTW - Me and my lad recently attended Liverpool Odeon to watch BBB7.....and it was fab
👍👍
Love Maestro Neeves 🌞
Can’t believe I discovered his memorial by accident in 2017, also didn’t link it to the saving private Ryan film! Thanks
Excellent episode Michael is a top bloke he instructed me on my Ducati M600 around Knockhill race track it was a great day.I miss not have a motorbike all the best.
Neevesey is the motorcycling GOD of the UK
The greatest.
Enjoyed this - just let Neevesey talk a bit more next time- Every word he says is wise.
Really interesting to watch two different types of broadcaster, both great in their own way.
This was top class for a first podcast! Charley Boorman or Ewan McGregor would have some stories to tell, or you never know Keanu Reeves is an interesting character who loves bikes.....
Wonderful chat. Looking to get my first motorcycle next year and been watching so many videos from the both of you. Few people beating you up a bit in the comments, but thought this was really awesome. Especially for your first episode!
The budget bike battles corrupted me away from my retro bikes.
Picked up a VFR 800 (2001) yesterday for a sweet deal
Sorry to say, but you might as well give up now that you’ve had Neevesy. You’ll never top him. But if you want to aim high, get Keanu Reeves or Mark Knopfler.
Great content. Love the show. Been for something from you like this..
And if you put one headphones and listen to what your recording you might hear that the mic is position s fine. turn off the horrible noise gate on the recorder too... sort out your acoustics. otherwise sounds great!
Wow Chris, you used to live in Weybridge. I’m a Weybridge lad, where about did you live? Don’t tell me you were up in the hills 😉. Great podcast by the way.
I remember that ad for a road tester in MCN. I had a subscription at the local newsagents. Read all the mags too. So glad now Neevsey got the job. He's a bloody natural.
I use 2 reviewers for any bikes I'm interested in and hope they've both done 1 for it, mcn for the nuts n bolts of the matter hp comfort the sensisble info and 44 teeth for the raw bollox of the particular bike, stuff min wouldn't cover....👌
Interview mark Williams, bike founder, the god father of bike journalism
Awesome 👍. Great podcast and informative. Great guest. 10/10 🙂
Good 1st effort Christophe, brilliant guest obvs
Hopefully, you'll "grow into the host role" 😉
Please let them speak a bit more :) apart from that, I did really enjoy listening to you guys!
cheers from switzerland
Great format and just the right chap for the first foray into this format. Think you’d get on with Chopsey and have a good laugh.
I think that is a very good point Chris. I had the same realization, nobody has their shit together and everyone is winging it. I think I got into my late 20's and had that realization as if I was struck by lightning lol.
Really enjoyed this podcast. I tried to buy some merch, but your website doesn't display any products in the merch section...
Chris: If yer doing any post-production please throw in some pictures over the voice-under...
💯
What took you so long! These kind of podcast really kickstart my need to ride my bike far more than I do now! Thanks guys! You two are master! P.s. audio is great
Honest feedback.. Guest should get >60% speaking time.
“Hello Delivery” real time podcasting! Thanks for leaving that little interruption in the video Chris. For me that made an excellent podcast with an excellent motorcycle journalist even more special!!
Moan moan, just want to make money without doing any graft 😂 there you go saves you watching Chris's bits 😂
The writing in fast bikes property captured what it was like to ride motorcycles. In the era of the 916 it told us what it was like to chuck it on its ear and blast it out of a bend.
Brilliant chat, it is funny watching Mike go into journalist mode and start interviewing you 🤣
At points it seemed Baron forgot to interview his guest and talked about his own channel but overall good chat and sound blokes.
LET NEEVES TALK MAN!!!!
I still maintain idve beat u on mcn idol if they hadn’t realised I was still on restrictions…. Check the paper I got my picture in there at least
I still find myself thinking of John Cantlie and the torture has undoubtedly gone through 😞
Imagine having him in the 44th crew. It would bakance things out to have a bit more serious side in the channel. Just a littlebit
Cracking first Podcast. But your going to have to go some to top Neevesy 😊
Really good podcast easy to listen to, great first guest British motorcycle journalism royalty! Look forward to the next one 👌🏼
That was cock-on guys! Loved it. Keep 'em coming. 😊
This is an excellent first crack. Exceptionally insightful
