Dan truely living the dream. That would be amazing to do something like that. Ever thought to do a prep video of what you take and why? I’d be keen to know that’s for sure. For me it’s all a bit overwhelming to plan something like that but love watching you do it 💪👍👍
Hey Paul, I think taking only what you need / less gear makes a difference. I’m terrible for it but I’m starting to try & keep my gear organised & tick everything off before I leave for a trip. Heaps more camping vids to come so I’ll incorporate more of preparation. Other then that mate , it’s pretty straight forward & I reckon give it a crack! Start local and do one nighter and I reckon you’ll have a blast 🙏 thanks for tuning in again mate
Wow, this solo camping adventure looks absolutely incredible! I admire your skills in catching and cooking your own food. It must have been an amazing experience to be surrounded by nature on Peel & Moreton Island. I'm inspired to plan my own camping trip now. Keep up the great content!
Hey Mate, probly wont see this but.... My best friend for years's father had an amazing house here that he just sold. Even bought a ridiculous boat with wheels so he didint have to have a car! Great video brings back memories from staying there with him altough you certanily had a much more adventourous time! Keep it up mate.
nice boat mate, wish I could join you on such a boat camping trip, I am from South Africa, don't have nice island like that to camp on. God bless and enjoy mate!!
Hey mate, What's the size of your boat? I'm curious to know how long it took you to get to Moreton Island and where your starting point was. I'm about to do the same soon! Keep up the great content cheers!
thanks mate glad you enjoyed! my boat is a 4.2m Stessco Catcher with 30hp. I either launch from Raby bay or wellington point for these missions. Sometimes I'll go directly across the bay if conditions are good, its really not as far as you think. around 30 mins on a good run id say. Other times I'll explore east straddy and then cut across to Moreton and hug the eastern side especially if there's a bit of wind around.
hey dan just wondering about the little squire u caught, are we not in a snapper closure season 15 july to 15 august. is this old footage or im probably just wrong.
Thanks mate. I purchased a permit online 👍 wasn’t sure about the designated camp areas when I rocked up. Wasn’t aware of the no take wood on the island. Thanks for the heads up.
Thanks for all the effort you went to in making and editing that video. It was great to experience the fishing and camping with you.
So glad you enjoyed it 🙏

Hey mate, old footage from a little over a week ago. The dates you said are the snapper closed season 👍
Hey mate, great vid.. where roughly was the dive?
Hey mate, thanks for being here. It’s no secret but I don’t like naming specific areas on here. It’s Moreton Island though 👍
@@danyoungy no dramas, just moved towards the bay so might give a few of the islands a crack
@@michaels1893Plenty to explore , good luck!
Hey dan, do you need a permit to camp on peel? Been looking to have a trip here for a while and just wanted to know, Thanks!
Yeah mate gotta book online ay, if you search peel island camping you’ll find it 😎
Great vid, however FYI you need a camping permit for Moreton Is., and also you cannot use wood from on the island, you need to BYO wood for fires.
Thanks mate. I purchased a permit online 👍 wasn’t sure about the designated camp areas when I rocked up. Wasn’t aware of the no take wood on the island. Thanks for the heads up.
@@danyoungy Not a problem. For all national parks in Qld you need to bring your own wood, I believe. Great vidiography. You'll go far on YT. Be safe!
