Thank you for doing my favorite song by them. I just love this group❤❤❤. Too Much Heaven also hit #1 and they donated all the proceeds from this song to charity. I subscribed!

The Bees Gees are fantastic & IMHO, right up there with Earth, Wind & Fire, Queen & MJ. And, speaking of MJ. he loved the Bee Gees- he & Barry Gibb were friends. I come from a family of musicians, so as a kid, I knew a bit about the Bee Gees, but just recently really saw them & am absolutely in love with this group. Some great news is that it looks like there is going to be a biopic film made of the Bee Gees, directed by Ridley Scott with Barry Gibb, the lead singer in Too Much Heaven, as one of the producers!
They truly are up there with the best artists ever. That is also some awesome news about a biopic 👍👍 Can't wait to hear more about it. Thank you for watching and joining us here. We appreciate the support 😁😁
The Bee Gees donated the song to UNICEF, so if you bought it from a streaming service the portion that would have gone to the artists still go to charity.
Such a great song. It's one of my 164 favorite songs by them. Please consider, Fanny Be Tender With My Love. For Whom The Bell Tolls. Wedding Day. Sacred Trust.
Thank you for doing this song. Family harmonies can’t be beat. They are the kings of harmony. Beautiful song. They are amazing song writers. You would enjoy these great songs too: Fanny be tender with my love Wind of change (1979) When he’s gone (1991 Arsenio) To love somebody (1991 Arsenio) Obsessions I could not love you more I surrender (promotional video) Kiss of life
The Bee Gees had five songs in the TOP 5 on the US Billboard Hot 100 chart for one week in March 1978. The songs were: Night Fever: The number one song Stayin' Alive: The number two song Love Is Thicker Than Water: By Andy Gibb Emotion: By Samantha Sang If I Can't Have You: By Yvonne Elliman They wrote the last 2 songs for Samantha Sang and Yvonne Elliman and also recorded it themselves. The brothers had 15 top ten hits They scored 9 No. 1 hits on the Billboard Hot 100, including 15 top ten hits and 43 chart entries overall.
A little background. Barry Gibb (middle) September 1, 1946. He and his wife Linda have been married for 54 years. They were married on September 1, 1970, which was Barry's 24th birthday. They have 4 sons and one daughter who is the youngest. Also, 7 grandchildren. Barry's chest is shiny with blotches because when he was about 18 months, he pulled a pot of hot tea from off of a table. His mom said he didn't speak for a long time (close to 2 years.) He was close to dying because there was no skin grafting back then and gangrene was beginning to set in. Barry said he has no memory of it happening, just the scars to prove it. Robin (on our left - long hair) and Maurice (on our right - short hair) were fraternal twins. Maurice Gibb - pronounced Morris (December 22, 1949 - January 12, 2003) heart attack, while getting surgery for twisted intestines. Survived by his wife and 2 adult children. Robin Gibb (December 22, 1949 - May 20, 2012) doctors found out he had the same intestine problems as Maurice. When they went in to fix it, they found cancer. He is survived by his wife and 4 adult children. Andy Gibb - not pictured - (March 5, 1958 - March 10, 1988) He was too young to sing with his brothers. He had his own successful career. He was survived by one daughter. I saw a video where they said it was planned for Andy to join them, but he passed away before it could happen. Andy and Barry look so much alike that people thought they were twins. They wrote their own songs and wrote and produced songs for a lot of other artists. Barry didn't always sing in falsetto. They were asked if someone could sing falsetto on a song. Barry volunteered, and the rest is history. Robin sang falsetto too. On a side note, the first born is their sister, Lesley (Gibb) Evans. (January 12, 1945.) She can sing, but she did not want to be in the limelight. She lives a quiet life. She and Barry are the last two survivors of the family. (Their parents are deceased also.) Maurice passed away on Lesley's 58th birthday. They were so popular that some radio stations had a 'Bee Gees free' weekend. NO requests for their songs. I recommend the following songs: Staying Alive th-cam.com/video/I_izvAbhExY/w-d-xo.htmlsi=7p2Pbvfime9eHGc-&t=1 How Deep Is Your Love th-cam.com/video/XpqqjU7u5Yc/w-d-xo.htmlsi=TJzrh9ns2v1rUvnH You Should Be Dancing (Andy is with them in this video: from the movie Saturday Night Fever) th-cam.com/video/Auo29DPfZ2E/w-d-xo.htmlsi=XevU5_t8wV8gQCBS&t=1 Bodyguard (absolutely beautiful song) th-cam.com/video/Fx5XwIKCs3o/w-d-xo.htmlsi=BxQzAIO4ocFl6S3i You Win Again th-cam.com/video/KZY9oYSSjFI/w-d-xo.htmlsi=tNkXzwYEE2uOUi1I For Whom the Bells Toll th-cam.com/video/jTowyYFXIUY/w-d-xo.htmlsi=kqPuP-VmVOO8dkca One th-cam.com/video/eP_a9XrHZgE/w-d-xo.htmlsi=5RF5M5H_P1aXflUQ
This was NOT live, though. They never did a live falsetto version of this song, only in their normal voices as part of a medley: th-cam.com/video/a6kAvg0F4OI/w-d-xo.html (2001), th-cam.com/video/qtTvO3-9HiQ/w-d-xo.html (1999), th-cam.com/video/NSsD-Uc24OM/w-d-xo.html (1997), th-cam.com/video/bmbagLLqeqo/w-d-xo.html (1989) The BeeGees were: the tallest and oldest brother (with the big hair and beard), Barry Gibb, born September 1, 1946, the only surviving Gibb brother. Robin Gibb (with the long hair, no beard), born December 22, 1949-passed away May 20, 2012, and Robin's fraternal twin brother Maurice (the balding brother with the beard, pronounced "Morris") Gibb, born December 22, 1949-passed away January 12, 2003. They also had another, younger, brother Andy Gibb, born March 5, 1958-passed away March 10, 1988. The three oldest brothers were born on the Isle of Man (UK). Oldest brother Barry got seriously burned when he accidentally pulled boiling tea over himself at 18 months old. He was in coma for a while, nearly died and was in hospital for many months. Because of this, he did not learn to talk until after the twins were born. Later the family moved to Manchester and from there they emigrated to Australia in 1958, right after Andy was born. All 4 brothers are just natural musical talents. All of them dropped out of high school in their early teens and none of them could read or write music. All their compositions were created completely organically. Their musical career, which they had started as little kids, didn't lead to international success so they moved back to the UK in 1967. Then they had a string of big hits, until they temporarily broke up around 1970 for 15 months. Started back up, looking for a new sound which they first found in 1974 with the transitional album "Mr. Natural". After that "Main Course" was the first album that moved them into a new direction: more rhythm&blues, dance music like with great hits like Nights on Broadway and Jive Talkin' (and was also actually the first album on which their logo was introduced). From 1976 on they went all out with falsetto driven dance music which lead to their biggest commercial success as they provided classic songs for the Saturday Night Fever Soundtrack (1977 Stayin' Alive, How Deep is Your Love, Night Fever amongst them). You should react to the 1979 live version of Stayin' Alive, too th-cam.com/video/7niXSh7vWRI/w-d-xo.html Other great songs to analyze: great album tracks from the 1979 Spirits Having Flown album, the title song: th-cam.com/video/WH_j90fCIk4/w-d-xo.html, the outrageously beautiful song Reaching Out th-cam.com/video/vfHUS5Mf00Q/w-d-xo.html. From their Still Waters album, Smoke and MIrrors: th-cam.com/video/MT9vRHSWNbk/w-d-xo.html. From the 1960's I've gotta get a message to you th-cam.com/video/CA4CInDnTk8/w-d-xo.html. And from the 1990's the simple song Blue Island live in an accoustic version: th-cam.com/video/162GlAEpfrY/w-d-xo.html. Andy was kind of Barry's mini me, about half a foot shorter and 12 years younger but they were the only lefties of the family. However, his voice was nowhere near as broad in range or as strong as Barry's. As producer Alby Galuten said in the book "Tales of the brothers Gibb "Andy's falsetto was nowhere near Barry's." Andy had a lower, huskier, sound to his voice and his range was not as big as Barry's. I personally always thought his voice was much better suited to songs of his first album, Flowing Rivers. Andy died of myocarditis - which is an inflammation of the heart - on March 10, 1988, 5 days after his 30th birthday. His heart had been weakened by his drug addiction over the years which, by the way, was also the main reason for his split from Victoria Principal. He also had a congenital heart problem that was later also discovered in Barry and Barry's second son Ashley. Try listening to the song Dreamin' on th-cam.com/video/-KdBVKcSSSw/w-d-xo.html which is kind of a duet with Barry. And here are the 4 brothers live on stage in 1979 doing You Should Be Dancing th-cam.com/video/_6MR-E_Qzz0/w-d-xo.html And finally a few photos of Barry and Andy: i.postimg.cc/jS6n3Jkv/Barry-Andy.jpg and i.postimg.cc/TwnPh8M0/82c126fc42a35d3b737867af41338199.jpg and the 4 brothers with their mother i.postimg.cc/FRNMbwkD/b9b2561eadffee11347573c97063c2f8-zpsd89478eb.jpg
