Thanks so much for this Gemma! This was fantastic!
I was just doing a color drawing before watching this video, and I was doing every single DON’T that you mentioned right down to the final point 😂
Will approach it with an entirely different mindset the next time round 💪
    Thankyou so much again! ❤

Looks amazing! I wish you would have shown some close ups of the eyes and teeth. Plus the original photo. Only because my brain needs more info! Lol. You are so talented.

I would love to work in color pencils, "but," many times when I leave my usual graphite portraits a while and return, I see mistakes. Those graphite drawing mistakes are so easily corrected with erasures and a stump blender. My question is how to correct a portrait that's done in color pencils? Example: If I later notice that a cheek is too dark and is causing the face to slightly warp, or if I notice a pupil is slightly off center, etc., how can I correct a portrait done in color pencils after I have already spent lots of hours developing it? I really think I could have a lot of sales with color pencils "if" I could learn how to repair simple errors I might suddenly notice later on or see the next day, as I'm going along. Thanks for any advice.

Maybe Pastelmat would be an option because you can easily draw lighter colors on darker colors. There's a video titled "MOST FORGIVING SURFACE! How I Fix Mistakes on Pastelmat" where a woman gets the eye of a goat wrong and then corrects it by simply drawing over the previous layers, it's quite amazing.
