Yeah dude it’s been a long time hey It was worse last time I could up so they are maintaining it when they can 👌 This was after shit loads of rain too so it was pretty rutted
Who's your local shop/mechanic? The cable management on your bike is of poor quality and looks unprofessional. I can see the front brake hose need the bolt loosened off and the line to be untwisted. The front and rear brake lines should have also been shortened as they appear to be the factory lengths which is excessive and unnecessary. The dropper cable is also far too long and is waiting to be caught on something, noting also the unnecessary length. It's a wise idea to leave SOME length to allow the bars to spin upon a crash but whoever set that up didn't put as much attention to detail as is deserves. I'm a bike mechanic and when I set up a bike, cable management gets a lot of attention. Any mechanic worth their time will know that other mechanics see this and it's a good indication of the lack detail in setting up the bike.
Interesting 🤔 I don’t care about unnecessary shit like that tbh 😂 I just send my bike to the depts of hell every damn day! 👌👌 Thanks for your opinion tho dude, I ride for jonnysprockets, quite a large well known shop that does a top effort and always a solid job 👌 maybe the apprentice was working on this bike when it was built 🤔 Also I like doing x ups so they knew that longer cables was required
@@JohnnyThe_G That's cool, I know the Sprockets shop, they have nice stuff! In this instance the mechanics didn't do a solid or top job because the cables weren't trimmed. It's a small detail relatively speaking when considering the complexities of bikes, of which there is many! It's common that shops don't spend time in cable management, either because of time sake or lack of detail. I suppose you could get technical about it because it's weight saving, and with less friction comes smoother operation. It makes the bike appear incomplete or unfinished in my opinion. Cable management is one of the few aesthetics a mechanic can control and so a good mechanic should be as fastidious about it. It's not uncommon that the bend of the outer cable from the frame into the RD is too much which affects shifting and this is why they get trimmed. It generally takes another 20 minutes to measure, cut the cables and re-bleed brakes, regardless of SRAM or Shimano. Cables that are too long will flop about under tension which is not dissimilar to having slack in the line which affects performance too. I'm not trying to slander anyone or imply your bike is working less than optimally but these are legitimate areas of improvement on the bike that I have noticed. It would be pointed out and rectified if I was working on your bike. I always think along the lines of 'if this was missed, what else could be missed'. I've been a professional mechanic for 13 years now and after working at many shops I can sympathize with the customers concerns in servicing. It takes a particular kind of weirdo to exert much energy into the functionality of a push bike and pursue it as a career. An industry secret I'll share is the common theme of shops losing good mechanics due to pay disputes as shops generally pay in 'packages'. That means your $65000 a year wage is actually inclusive of super which is actually $58500 a year before tax. I know many career mechanics who have moved on because of wage stagnation and the knowledge leaves with them.
@@whyyes6428 saving weight would be awesome cause this bike weighs a tonne 😂 Yeah mate all good Salary would be a big issue with most bike shops that for sure Lose a lot of the best mechanics hey
