- Heaphy Track - Adventure bike ride through one of New Zealand Great trails. Collingwood in Golden bay through to Karamea on the west coast of the South Island.
While the weather wasn't fantastic the crew had a great time and enjoyed stunning scenery and landscapes with a unique return trip.

I worked on the track 27years ago....Mackey hut to Lewis hut...looks like it held up ok
I walked this about 14 years ago, glad to see nothing has changed. I have such fond memories of this track. Thanks for your video.

I tramped this about 20 years ago, we took 5 days including a rest day at Heaphy Hut. This terrific video has brought back great memories plus a desire to bike the track too, but perhaps over 2 days. Huge thanks for this!!

@drTeddyJo hey there, I would say overall it maybe smoother than paparoa. The first climb has some bumps but there are some sections on dirt that are amazingly smooth.
They would be similar in terms energy expenditure.
If you managed the paparoa then the heaphy is absolutely achievable and enjoyable.
