When people ask me if I had a time machine but I go back and stop World War one or two I always say yes absolutely right after I got back from this concert 😂
Yep
Beth Hart is in a league of her on . This was the first video I ever watched of You Beth . And I honestly didn't sleep that night because I listened to it over and over . Absolutely The Best Female vocalist out there anywhere .
Beth’s voice is one that comes along every decade or so.
I've seen Beth live twice, the first time in her early solo career, opening for Jonny Lang and she is just a force of nature. Definitely need to check out her later solo work as well as Live from Amsterdam with Joe Bonamassa, absolutely brilliant.
THE BEST!!!! Unique, what a performance!!! EXCELENTE!!! That’s it!!!
Let me educate you a little, she is an incredible Songwriter, Singer, Composer and absolute live performance beast
You simply cannot stop here. Her catalog is just too amazing to make the mistake of not revisiting her. Try out “I’d Rather Go Blind” with Joe Bonomasa.
"Come on don't be shy just say you love me even if it's a lie." Incredible lyrics!
TY: Yeah, Beth went to a prestigious “music school” but was booted out around the 10th grade (I think) because she sang all night in LA bars & nightclubs which caused her to miss most of her classes…Today, apart from singing, she plays the piano, classical guitar, and bass guitar in concert. She no longer plays Cello.
NICK: Yes, it seems effortless-but she’s been training her voice for over 35 years-the range, the total control, the flexibility & vocal diversity, and a tone dripping with honey and sulfuric acid. Yep, no filter, cusses like a sailor, totally uninhibited & authentic, a live wire that leaves it all out on the stage every time.
SHIZEL: you’re right about the interplay and improvisation between guitarist Jon Nichols and Beth (he’s still her lead touring guitarist to this day). Also, this is before the time of ear monitors-she’s out front while the speakers point toward the band… As for the song, “Am I The One,” Beth wrote it at age 16 but has been modifying and evolving it ever since…so it’s always different.
NO, she’s not a better performer than artist-she extraordinary in every facet of music--she’s written the music and lyrics for 10 studio albums, and has released 4 live albums and 3 studio cover albums with Joe Bonamassa-and a new cover album of Led Zeppelin songs to be released February 2022. She’s not more famous because (1) she’s on an independent label; (2) she’s inhabits mostly the blues/Jazz genre; (3) she doesn’t seek fame or fortune; and (4) managing her bipolar mental illness limits her work schedule.
P.S. Beth wrote this song at about 16, as you note and to emphasize your point. Also… the guy that pulled her back up on the stage was her Tour Manager and husband Scott Guetzkow
Beth Hart is considered the top female vocalist around by industry Insiders! She's performed with some of the best guitarists alive including Buddy Guy, Joe Bonamassa, Jeff Beck and Eric Gales.
Ugh absolutely amazing
Beth Queen 😁🌷🌷🌷🌷🌷❤️
Beth Hart is not a "playlist" type of girl--she's addictive and mesmerizing. Here's a sample of 12 routinely mind-bending performances (ahh, maybe 14) for you:
BLUES GODDESS BETH- From the 2014 ‘Live in Amsterdam’ concert (collaboration with Joe Bonamassa)

Beth is one of a kind, a beautiful soul. The world is a better place because of her.
the gal with her in the audience is actually a friend of hers and the guy that helps her up on the stage is her husband.
it's rare to see such intimacy at a rock concert these days(if ever)
Lovely to see that those three guys are completely flabbergasted. This concert is on dvd and belief me ITS F.......Awsome
Since you've already dipped into Zeppelin, you should react to Beth Hart covering Zeppelin's "Whole Lotta Love" from this same concert at the Paradiso! You won't regret it.
Beth still keeping Scat alive...
This whole concert is incredible. Leaving la, Guilty, Mama, Leave the lights on, Money back, so many insane live performances in one concert
it was perfectly planned, she gets to the point. She is a great musician, she plays guitar and piano and writes her own songs. God bless her
You need to hear her live with Joe Bonamassa playing "I'd Rather Go Blind" ... incredible.
WOW wauw are underrated comments ... Beth is a natural multi-talent ... songwriter guitar piano ... she is one of the best live artists I have ever seen... just a few who have that talent to touche your soul and tell a song... greetings from Amsterdam
She is fantastic! I am very privileged to have tickets to see her in February. You should listen to anything from her concert at the Royal Albert Hall. She has also done several collaborations with blues guitarist Joe Bonanasa. Their cover of “Strange Fruit” originally done by the late great Billie Holiday will stop you in your tracks.
Oh, and no that fast part is a part of this song. One that Beth wrote by the way. She writes most of her songs. The blond guy that helped her on stage is her husband. She still to this day gets into the audience on certain songs. But not quite like that concert. She does get down on the stage, on her knees, lays down all kinds of things while performing. Also, as a reaction or on your own, check out Beth Hart Rehearsals 2006 "Broken & Ugly". Listen to entire video, the song switches up in rehearsal and comes back to origianl song. Great to see.
this performance is the vocal equivalent of Hendrix setting his guitar on fire.
You get the feeling that Beth doesn’t need a 🎤 as her voice is so powerful but controlled. The band need a special mention too. Tight unit
She is awesome I’ve watched her. From the beginning of her career!! You also need to watch YEBBA unbelievable all the channels are watching her !
Black coffee , Love is a lie , Nutbush city limits and so many more . Beth is amazing . If you want to see a concert if you haven’t do Thunderstruck by AC/DC live at River Plate
She’s one of the few performers who’s better in person. Hart is a Blues Siren who is so in tune with her musicians it’s a thing of beauty. Nothing here is accidental
The girl in the front row is a friend of Beth and it was her Birthday she just went through a bad break up with her boy friend, Beth invited her to cheer her up.
So glad you are doing this reaction!!! Beth Hart is awesome!!!
I am really into the gold top and the fingers that make it cry!!! But, my first thought was, I would love to have heard SRV work this...
Beth wrote this when she was only 17 !
She was still still a-bit rough and wild back here...
but wow she always gives 200% for every performance 💖
The new queen of Blues & Soul....
Must watch...
Mama ( Live @ Paradiso )
( The perfect follow up on to "Am I The One" )
Caught Out In The Rain ( Live @ the Royal Albert Hall 2018 )
I'll Take Care of You
Leave The Light On
Also anything with Joe Bonamassa
They did an album called...
Black Coffee that's loaded with classic Soul & Blues covers including...
The title song... Black Coffee
Nutbush City Limits ( better than Tina Turner )
The really powerful song....
Strange Fruit
Check out the Star Search TV show where she performed this before she found her "voice." Interesting to see then and this.
Beth is the greatest. She did overcome drug addition. So possessed by drugs. Her style obviously changed but still can belt it out.
She was 4 months sober at this concert. She also spent time in a psych ward for bi- polar.
Always react to her live performances, not studio. Amazing stage presence, each song very different. Check out her covers of “I’ll Take Care of You”, and “A Change Gonna Come,” and “I’d Rather Go Blind.”
Right now "ill take care of you" is my favorite so far. I have not heard a bad performance from her.
A vocal Godzilla, amazing talent.
Thank you for doing my request. This was the end of the concert so she looked a mess, her hair was wet and makeup messy. I told you this would be like no concert you have seen before. Have you ever seen anyone sit with the audience. This wa Beth actually knew the girl she was singing to, she is a friend who had a bad break up and Beth invited her to the concert. You should check out her Led Zeppelin cover from this concert "Whole Lotta Love" amazing. She does a lot of other types of songs, that are more rock n roll at this concert "I Don't Need No Doctor", plays the piano for "Mama", "Leave the Light on". What you need to see if her Grammy nominated song-Beth Hart & Joe Bonamassa "I'd Rather Go Blind" live in Amsterdam. Beth Hart "Caught out in the Rain" live at Royal Albert Hall. This is the best Etta James cover you will see doing this song. Beth is also a 6 time Blues artist of the year. This was just for you to see her like no other. She does however have many songs you would like, so check some out.
"I'd Rather Go Blind" was NOT a Grammy-nominated song--Beth & Joe Bonamassa did receive a Grammy nomination for their 2013 "Seesaw" album collaboration. For the 'Blues Music Awards'--Beth has 10 nominations, between 2012 & 2019, and won once in 2018 for "Instrumentalist Vocals." (She's also won Blues Blast Awards & European Blues Awards). Unfortunately there are tons of talentless "artists" out there with dozens of Grammys and a 100 million fans that couldn't carry Beth bra, as they say--but their musical pablum sells. Go figure.
@@ben-schulman Sorry, some how part of my sentence got deleted. It should have read Grammy nominated Blues Album - Seasaw, and listen to the song "Id Rather Go Blind" from Beth Hart & Joe Bonamassa Live in Amsterdam.
I believe that's an urban myth... Regarding the girl in the crowd....I read it was a random occurrence. I've always wondered why she is never asked that question when interviewed.
@@moniqueleroux2198 obviously random by the non verbal response
She may not have SRV on stage with her but she has a few CDs with Blues guitarist Joe Bonamassa. check out the two of them live
The BEST!
Beth wrote this song when she was 17 years old as a contestant on Star Search. She seldom sings the song the same way each time.
You need to react to her at Royal Albert Hall Sister Heroine and Leave the Light on shes awesome !! Also react to anything YEBBA she’s so great !!!
Amazing! Who hid this from me? Such fun.
This is why I requested her I wanted others to see her amazing talent. There’s so much more to her though and other songs that she is written. Amazing person. And the best live performer I’ve ever seen.
Welcome to Beth Hart, the greatest front man ever in rock, and I mean that as a compliment. She kind of puts everybody else to shame. It's funny because I wrote a review of her years ago and I said I honestly thought she was "possessed", so you are not alone in thinking that because sometimes there is no other possible explanation for her power and life force. I've been a crazed fan of hers for over 20 years when she appeared as a little skinny waif on a TV show called Star Search, which she happened to win first place for the entire year by the way. She is huge in Europe but unfortunately, though she should be a household name in the US, she is not because most people have crappy taste and like Britney Spears and J.Lo and other auto-tune crap. Anyway, great job guys, you're fun and intelligent and real and keep it that way.
What's interesting about her Star Search performances in '93 is how scary good her talent and stage presence were at that time (21 y.o.) but also how unpolished and almost 'cringey' she was compared to now...Bottom line, every contestant that went up against her--even though classically-trained, technically precise, and highly polished--looked completely outmatched against her authenticity, vocal power, and unbridled passion--it was a massacre.
@@ben-schulman totally agree. I couldn't believe what I was seeing when she first slithered out on stage. She totally blew my mind.. I remember telling people about her and got them to watch and they didn't get it. I was like... What the f***? Don't you recognize great talent when you see it? But what do I know, I guess. I remember the first time Madonna came on Solid Gold as a relative unknown and sang "Holiday" and I remember saying to the people in the room with me, " Oh God this girl will never make it." LOL. ( Admittedly not now nor ever been a fan,, I'm more a Debbie Harry guy.)
Beth and Skin in the UK single-handedly keep the spirit of Janis Joplin alive.
Oh hell... I'm jealous that you guys recorded your first exposer to the majesty that is Beth Hart. You've started w/ a slap in the face. Now you need to see just how she far can take you for a ride, btw, don't forget what her band is bringing to the party.
Listen now to her and Joe Bonamassa doing I'd Rather Go Blind to see her more sophisticated side - they are both amazing. The back and forth with the guitar is a "call and response" section - they have done it before...and she is fully as good an artist as a performer - she does not care about being commercial.
Her version of "A change is a comin" in a small a bar, is amazing as well. Not quite as awesome as this video, but just as good.
This was the best concert I ever saw. I remember I was crying , really crying . From the emotions that took over . And when I saw her again with Joe B, she was changed . Still singing great but she found her " fi.ter" no more pouring out emotions like a waterfall, but more controlled . The Paradiso was my favorite . And she is the only singer or band I saw 3 times . And Mink Deville but the concert in Nighttown Rotterdam was really bad,.and I saw him on Pinkpop and that's a festival .Totally different t vibe.
I have to say more, This is not the usual Beth .It's like you said .She said goodbye to heroin and painkillers and booze and killed her demons ,Let all the bad stuff out .That is exactly why it's so goddamn beautiful.
Try Beth Hart and Joe Bonamassa " I'll take care of you". Its badass.
wowwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww Beth for ever!!!!! Thanks
Beth Hart is to Janis Joplin like Stevie Ray is to Jimi Hendrix.
In the magic place Paradiso
Love her! Check out her and Joe Bonnamassa
Just wait!!! You'll be impressed!!!!!!!
If you want the next best thing to Stevie Ray since he's gone check out Beth Hart and Joe Bonamassa "I'd Rather Go Blind" live in Amsterdam (Etta James cover) th-cam.com/video/UEHwO_UEp7A/w-d-xo.html
Check out her song ONE EYED CHICKEN . I was not really crazy about this one.
Fantastic analysis, guys!
You gotta Fire On The Floor. Video
Beth Hart has no equal.
Middle guy's commentary lol funny... Beth Is A Vocal Demon God. None like her. I love Her #BAM
You should dive into the rabbit hole of Nightwish. Presently worlds best live band. Start with ghost love score live in Wacken 2013.
Watch Beth and Joe I’ll take care of you
Try "Mama".
Love when she does Mama!
Her husband is the one that helps her up on stage later.
I went to 100's of concerts in the 502 in the 70's and 80's and this show right here f'n rocks !!! You got to do more of her with Joe Bonnamassa !!! .....and Duke beat uk this year !!!!
Dig it*...
It don't get better.
You should try Joss Stone if you like soul singers.
She always reminds me of Janis Joplin. I do think Beth has a better voice.
The better verion is not at the Pardiso.
Janis Joplin reincarnated.
Here's some perspective : th-cam.com/video/d26gbMol7IA/w-d-xo.html
The people around Beth WERE ready for this because it is in Denmark where the people are far less uptight than Americans.
maybe it's time you react to fingerstyle playing Alip ba_ta, I'm sure your followers will explode, because of the incredible talent play of a very simple person
eatmealive now jejjeje
I swore when i saw this the first time many years ago she was still an adict and not recovered yet.
I question if I am right or wrong now but I guess even if you are recovered, you still are an adict. I know other videos after this one, she is even more impressive and less like an adict.
I intimately know adicts more than I desire to know them and I do know she gets better after this video.
:)

Thanks
Love Beth Hart but a little tamer.
I have no proof, but I think the girl in the audience is her sister, 2nd hand info from another reaction so who knows.
I was told it was a friend she met over there that was going through a rough time so she invited her to the concert. I believe her sister had already passed away by this time
@@nancymartineau-bauman6018 Could very well be.
No, it is NOT her sister--nor is it a friend. Beth's oldest sister is Sharon (the song "Sister Dear," off the 2019 'War in My Mind' album., is about Beth's recent reconciliation with her). Beth's other sister (older than her, younger than Sharon) died of AIDS in 1994 when Beth was 22. (The song "Sister Heroine" from the 2010 'My California' album is about her). All evidence suggests the girl in the audience is RANDOM--if anyone has any evidence other than "I saw this in an internet comment,' please correct me.
@@ben-schulman Fair enough.
@@toddstevens13 no problem, sorry, was just trying to keep things accurate--difficult in the days of the Big Lie and everyone thinking if it's on-line, it must be true?
Beth can sing, I don't feel this song brought out her best vocals. To bad you didn't get to see the whole concert .
I just repeat what I wrote under some other reaction video.
What is point that some "morons" react to Beth Hart performance, they need to stand up when they mention her name.
That almost made sense
Definitely didn't like this one, not my thing. She sounds like a Janis Jopelin wannabe.
like a good american bigot he said : she s possessed ???
It's a joke, Jacqueline
Ignorants!!!!
On fire
