To be honest, bloodborne must be one of the most complex stories in gaming. The mad lad Red Grave wrote an amazing piece that is The Pale Blood Hunt to try to explain the lore and still theres so much to discover its insane. It could easily be a series of books. I really wish we could see more of it
Not me who completely skipped True Monk's second phase and then blinded it in the third phase to death. Now talking for real, I think Sekiro is one of the easiest to cheese, and all of that is mostly because of the shinobi tools lmao.
ER has a good looking world, but it is by NO means the best world "design". And even with the first part, easily arguable that other souls games have better looking worlds.
Sekario is a game that tells you through boss fights that you aren’t going to dodge in this game, it forces you to deflect and the second you understand that, it clicks in your head. I have the saved clip of me being the final boss and I was literally shouting in achievement/relief. I would love a second game in the series. Also the Nioh comparison, for me it’s SOOOO much faster paced than any other game but the first Nioh will always be a 10 for me because there are so many memorable bosses in the game and everyone’s playthrough will be different with the different avenues you can play as. I’d recommend Nioh if you’re looking for fast paced souls gameplay this is your cup of tea.
I love the build crafting in Nioh. And the fact that stamina refresh makes it play like only school ninja Gaiden with combo chaining is a fascinating spin
Bloodborne is my favorite game of all time. The lore, the songs, the world, and of course the combat that puts it all together. Going through my 8th or 9th playthrough right now, and I'm still enraptured.
@@ibrahimalsalmi4759 I love Bloodborne but I feel the bosses are lacking apart from the dlc which was excellent, the lore is definitely my favourite of the series though I've watched way too many multi hour lore videos on Bloodborne lol
Sekiro is easily my favorite souls game. no cheesing and no overleveling to make the game easy. If you beat Sekiro, you mastered the game. The same cannot be said of games like Elden Ring where you can just cheese bosses with magic, bleed, and summons.
Imma just throw my hat in the ring and say that imo sadly after completing the game twice, that's the reason I never went back to it. There's just not enough things to explore and play around with after completing it. The combat is perfect, the bosses are spectacular and the scenery is spot on but the reason I just can't put the other games down and keep playing them over and over is because of the different ways you can play them. Every run is special, I can go with any playstyle I choose, make it hard for myself or easier if I'm in the mood for just playing around with the magic, I can go pretty much anywhere right from the getgo in both Elden Ring and DS1 and that just doesn't exist in Sekiro, it's a perfected experience but at least to me it's made to be played 1-3 times max and that's not bad just different and the reason I don't go back to it. To me Bloodborne does the gameplay on the same level but makes it that little bit more replayable so I can go back a few times every year but in terms of longevity for me personally nothing touches DS1 and Elden Ring. We'll see as time passes cause recency bias is real but for me ranking would look something like this. 7. DS2 (not for me sadly, just feels to clunky to play) 6. Demon's Souls (Fun but just a few to many gimmick bosses and a bit to easy) 5. Sekiro (As I stated, perfect for 1 or 2 playthroughs but not enough replayability for me) 4. DS3 (Very good, sadly a bit to linear and "boring" start of the game imo) 1. DS1, Bloodborne, Elden Ring (I just can't choose between them, they're all very different and I love them for different reasons but as I said recency bias might play a factor)
I started with DS3, and I struggled a lot. I'm not exaggerating when I say that every single boss was a learning experience. Even the deacons lol. Bloodborne is my favorite. I love Lovecraft and his work, so it's really no contest
Sekiro is maybe my favorite game of all time. Love almost every aspect of it. Hope it gets a sequel. And while ive never played bloodborne, hope that gets one too since so many people love it.
Sekiro was my first fromsoftgame. It’s so good. I wanted more so I played bloodborne next. I was afraid I wouldn’t enjoy it because it wasn’t like sekiro, but I ended up absolutely loving it. Then elden ring of course which was also amazing. I think sekiro is still my favorite tho
Honestly I'd love to see another iteration of bloodborne. Just imagining the world beyond yharnam, or what it looks like outside the hunter's dream. So much material to build upon.
There have been rumors of an Aztef Fromsoftware game for years. That could easily be a Bloodborne spiritual successor, or even just called Bloodborne 2
I could not agree more. Bloodborne is a masterpiece. The way the environment reminds you of a bad dream with settings you cant really easily explain in words but feel like you remember. The chalice dungeon itself is literally infinite in procedural generation and difficulty based on how many curses you want to apply. My favorite game of all time
@@arpyx8707 Nope. Combat, music, bosses, trick weapons, enemy/boss designs, artstyle and setting are all superior in Bloodborne. Elden Ring is a great game, but it's just DS4 to me. Only difference is it's open world with a horse. That's it. Elden Ring also reuses waaaaay too many assets for its own good.
@@jimmyj5703 the combat in bloodborne is good but it gets old and repetitive really quick as aside from trick weapons there isn’t much to do, spells aren’t fun until the dlc and you obviously can’t do a gun only build. Sure the setting could be argued superior to Elden Ring. But Elden Ring easily beats Bloodborne in this area as the settings are so diverse with rich, green grasslands, towering and majestic castles, or combine both of those with a castle in a tree, a temple in the sky with flying tornadoes, like three underground cities that all have their own tales to tell, a desert area plagued by a disease that has a burning sky, and red lakes. there’s even a volcano part with a huge castle that you can crawl through and go inside the volcano. in bloodborne it’s: dark gothic towers, dark city, dark abandoned town, dark nightmare realm, DARK fishing village, DARK RESEARCH HALL. The trend of gothic buildings and landscapes looks beautiful at first but honestly just gets old by the time you beat vicar amelia and after that you just get some ugly old dark forest with some of the worst enemies in soulsborne. What i described in elden ring is just touching the tip of what the game has to offer and there is simply so much to it, an area like caelid, crumbling farum azula, or even the haligtree have been played around with in the souls series. Mounted combat gives a whole different style and look and feel to the combat. Ashes of war makes each new weapon truly unique and the combat be very flexible at that. The only similarity is the animations and there was literally a whole debate about how this wasn’t a bad thing. Bloodborne’s bosses are wildly overrated except for a few in the DLC and i guess some in the main game. Most of them are just flailing beasts that you can walk behind and hit it until it’s dead. Bloodbornes enemies looks cool but they don’t really do much they all just try and whack you the same way. Except for maybe some of the enemies in yahar’gul. In Elden Ring there’s so much more variety with enemies such as the crucible knights and the spiritual minotaurs and dragons etc. Elden Ring pretty much knocks bloodborne out of the park and respect to bloodborne because it’s still one of my fav games but there are some flaws that no one ever points out
@@arpyx8707 Spells suck though. You're not even playing the game. You're just cheesing it at that point. I also disagree that Bloodborne gets repetitive. For me, the dash mechanic makes a huge difference. It's just so swift and fluid to pull off. And it looks cool af. The roll looks pretty lame and dated in comparison. Never got bored transforming my trick weapons in the middle of combat. I could literally spend an entire playthrough on just 1 single weapon throughout. Unlike DS and ER where I NEEDED to change my weapon every 3-4 hours to keep me engaged. Disagree with the setting as well. Sure there's more things to see in Elden, but I mean it's literally just another medieval fantasy setting like Dark Souls and many other games before it. It's a very generic and overused setting imho. This is an argument of quality vs quantity for me. Bloodborne's setting is way more unique, intimidating yet so interesting to explore because of how mysterious it is. It really made me want to find out how all of that stuff happened. Gonna have to disagree on enemy designs and bosses as well. The enemies and bosses of Elden Ring lack originality. A good amount of them feel like they came straight out of previous games, and lacking any interesting move sets. Most of them feel like they have the same strategy. Aoe spam, or spin to win spam attacks that get very old very quickly. Most enemies and bosses of Bloodborne had their own fighting style with different speed levels. It also doesn't help that they literally pulled a DS2 in ER with the constant reuses of bosses, as well as bosses that turn into regular enemies after fighting one. Which makes a good amount of them feel more forgettable if you ask me. Not to mention regular enemies with a boss health bar. It got a little obnoxious after a while. And then there's the fact that Bloodborne had a very nice combat rythm and flow. Enemies didn't spam their attacks constantly, and you can literally punish almost every single move an enemy or boss does. Enemies and bosses of ER spam too much, and they don't give you room to punish everything they do. Resulting in the player having to WAIT for certain combo chains to end before attacking just ONCE before backing off again. Bloodborne had a tit for tat combat style that made the fights feel more like rhythmic dances most of the time and it just felt more satisfying that way. DS3 and Sekiro also had that whereas ER seems to be lacking that feel entirely. And like I said earlier, the boss MUSIC and atmospheric arenas made them stand out a lot more to me. Elden Ring is a great game, but Idk. I feel like it's getting waaaay overpraised simply because it's a new game that had a lot of hype and marketing surrounding it. Not a bad or average game by any means, just not From's best imho.
@@jimmyj5703 I still disagree with the setting sure the setting in bloodborne is unique but in grand scheme of gaming it’s not really that much unique as it is really just gothic towers and city landscapes which is really disappointing especially considering the lighting and color palette of this game is extemely desaturated and just sticks to the same use of purple, red and black. They tried to mix it up with the DLC but really only succeeded in the fishing hamlet as that actually feels unique the research hall is pretty much the same color scheme and is inside another gothic architecture building. The forbidden woods is unique in terms of the game but in the series it’s not unique at all. Sure, elden ring has some tropes like castles and stuff but the way that each castle is styled and how the world is built is unique enough and has lots more diversity than bloodborne. It’s so tiring in bloodborne as it’s the entire game you’re seeing pretty much the same thing. In Elden Ring, each kingdom and castle is extremely different to not only each other but other castles in the souls series. Yes it’s following a trope but it’s a dark fantasy game I mean what did you expect? I would’ve disappointed if these castles and kingdoms weren’t in the game. It always makes the world feel much more grandiose and make the size feel more real and epic. There is nothing wrong with it and is a lot more unique as the settings themselves are far more fantastical than bloodborne or dark souls. The castles and kingdoms aren’t generic looking by any means and you cannot tell me that caelid is generic. Same thing with Crumbling Farum Azula and Nokron, the Eternal City and that city is also built in a gothic style similar to bloodborne. Elden Ring easily has better settings than bloodborne especially if you include liurnia of the lakes which is essentially a sinking city which is more unique than what bloodborne did. The combat in bloodborne is still very good and at its core is probably better than elden ring but i’d say that elden ring triumphs in this regard with the sheer amount of variety and skills and ashes of war that makes each weapon unique and does so much for the combat system. With trick weapons there was always that one mode that no one used like the HMS people only used the untricked form because they wanted to use their gun no one actually preferred that style because the tricked form is better in every way. Saw cleaver, the untricked way is so much better because of the serrated damage. Hunter axe, everyone really used tricked form because it had so much range and the combo potential from the held r1 was insane and it looked badass. Ludwig’s Holy Blade is really the only one that can apply to making good use of both trick forms. Whirligig saw people only used pizza cutter form because of how funny and how much damage it did AND it was serrated i think i don’t really remember. You could use bloodtinge and chikage and rakuyo only untricked because they’re very good with evelyn but i’d still argue rakuyo untricked is more useful. Burial blade, there was no point in using untricked because tricked is so much better in terms of combo and damage potential and how cool it looked. Like I said, guns are useless because all you really need is either the regular pistol or the evelyn but once you get the evelyn you’ve pretty much dedicated yourself to a bloodtinge build. There’s no point in having an arcane build because there’s like twelve spells and only a few are actually good and you don’t really get them until the DLC so what’s the point in wasting all those points into arcane. There’s barely any variety in this and bloodborne pretty much forces you into doing either a strength or skill build or just a simple quality build. Elden Ring’s build potential is so much greater and I don’t even need to list the reasons why there’s so much potential. With the combat, I understand how you like that the combat feels like a dance between swords to you but to me it does not feel like that at all. If you ask me the addition of guns in the game are kind of useless and bring the game down as while getting a visceral is very satisfying but it ruins so many of the humanoid bosses and pretty much all of the enemies. All of the hunter and humanoid bosses can be parried and for some reason have bigger parry windows than the hunter npcs you can just find around in the world. It completely ruins fights like Gehenna and Lady Maria as they would actually be fun and challenging without being able to spam parry them and just feel like i’m cheesing. When you say spells in Elden Ring feel like you’re cheering, guns in bloodborne definitely do. As for the beast bosses, the move set is extremely tame and pretty much is limited to only slashes and smashes and is nothing really crazy and just leaves huge opportunities for you to go behind them and hit them until they are dead which just makes like 90% of the bosses extremely boring and not a “dance of swords” like you think it is (if you ask me the way you described the combat is completely subjective and there’s nothing I can do to prove that wrong.) but even bosses like Ludwig who remain as some of my favorite bosses of all time are stomped easily when you just have a proper build or should I say “the build the game wants you to have” as using any other build makes this boss extremely tough. Also, another problem with the bosses is that they have horrible hit boxes, like they actually suck. Especially in fights like Ebrietas, Ludwig and Watchdog, obviously not as bad as dark souls 2 hit boxes but still not very good while it’s very much the opposite in Elden Ring. Elden Ring has bosses with multiple attack lengths and combos and variants like malenia, maliketh, godrick, margit, morgott, mohg, some of the dragon fights, Ragadon, Flying Dragon Agheel, other various dragon fights, godskin apsotle/noble, radahn, rennala etc. Beast bosses like Elden Beast I’d say are far better than the beast bosses done in Bloodborne as while they are huge and majestic like mergo’s wet nurse and ebrietas, it’s impossible to get behind it and hit it as it’s got the flying in the air attack and it’s blade sweeps. I can understand the complaints about the bosses being reused as enemies but bloodborne also did this and dark souls 1 and 2 and sekiro did this a decent amount. Also I don’t think this is a bad idea as the crucible knight is a good enemy and a very fun knight to fight. The godrick knights and black knights are all fun to fight and the tree beast bosses serve as a fun mini boss to fight. I feel like the criticism that the bosses are reused is blown out of proportion as yes, the bosses are reused but they aren’t just lazily copy and pasting it in other places they still change some stuff and you can’t expect them to have completely unique content in every part of the world. Some of the best open world games don’t even do that my favorite open world games like skyrim, the witcher 3, fallout new vegas, red dead redemption 2 are games that everyone hails as masterpieces but they all reuse content. This isn’t a bad thing, and it’s definitely not lazy and is really just an unrealistic expectation. The game has dozens of unique content and bosses either way and while i don’t think it has the best bosses in the franchise (i think that honor belongs to dark souls 3) it’s definitely up there probably behind sekiro. bloodborne my guess would be behind elden ring. Fights like rykard is the best gimmick boss fight in the series and godfrey is still unique because of the hoarah loux phase and margit and morgott still are extremely different only look the same because they are the same person in the lore and share only have one move they share, other than that they have completely different move sets. In the souls series it’s much easier to give unique enemies to a certain area because those games are much more linear and with they way they are structured it’s much easier to do that than elden ring which is one of the biggest open world games ever. It’s an unreasonable expectation and a criticism that has been blown out of proportion id probably say that there are around 33 bosses in elden ring that are big, main and are about the level of the big bosses in previous souls titles which is more than previous ones too except like dark souls 2. Heavily disagree with boss arenas too I mean radagon, radahn, malenia, godrick, rykard are just few bosses with exceptional arenas and the atmosphere in them with the great music is also very well detailed and is just excellent. Personally I think the game gets a little unbalanced towards the endgame but it’s a change I welcomed as it was about on par with the difficulty of sekiro and it was actually hard where bloodborne and dark souls 3 felt very streamlined and much easier than other titles. Dark Souls just got artificially difficult towards the second half with the unreasonable amount of bullshit in grand archives and demon ruins, and other areas but cleaned that up with the spectacular dlc. Overall, this game is literally a culmination of all the souls games in the series and it’s definitely a 10/10 and is obviously flawed but all games are flawed.
i agree with you on how consistent From Software is with the quality of their games. unapologetically vague and reasonably difficult. definitely my favorite series.
@Sut Nack how is it inconsistent? ds2 was and maybe demons (havent played it). They have been consistent in quality and always been fair difficulty wise.
@@penguinwolf3330 elden rings quality nose dives after leyndell, then goes back up in farum azula only to take another nose dive during/after maliketh lol
@@penguinwolf3330 (this is assuming youve already done caelid and mt gelmir) the mountaintops of the giants right after leyndell are just an awful area IMO. it's pretty damn bland and annoying to explore with little to no interesting areas (with the exception of the forge of the giants, which you interact with for like 3 minutes). it's only at farum azula which becomes fun to explore again. not only that, a lot of the bosses after leyndell just suck so much, especially if you're using slow weapons, the fire giant is just a god awful fight (probably don't have to explain this one), commander neil has cancer adds that can true combo you for literally no reason, god skin duo is self explanatory (funnily enough i did them first try without mimic tear in my first playthrough, but still thought they were a retarded fight), maliketh phase 2 is actually pretty good (jumps around a little too much with little down time for slow weapons though) but his phase 1 sucked pretty hard, godfrey was a cool fight (his phase 2 did have some inhumanely long combos though) and radagon/elden beast were definitely the worst final boss of any soulsborne game (though you could argue that dark souls 2 takes that spot, it's a pretty close call). also forgot about haligtree in the original comment, haligtree was pretty good, though i'm probably one of the only people who think malenia is an overrated boss fight, of course that's just subjective though, it's mainly her character and lore that i find pretty bland, as well as some attacks like waterfowl dance which don't belong in this game and are very obviously cut content from sekiro (you literally get a version of waterfowl dance for yourself in that game) obviously it's just my opinion, i'm perfectly content with people liking the final third of the game. it's just that elden ring is the first soulsborne game were I was *relieved* to have finished the game after the slog that the final part of the game was for me. literally all other soulsborne games i sat in the credits either excited for the next game (dark souls 1, 2) or sad that the journey was over (dark souls 3, sekiro), but in elden ring's credits I just felt nothing but relief.
@@astraelys Agree with the mountaintops and consecrated snowfield critique 100%, shit sucks, boring to look at, boring to walk through. Even worse is that it is the last open world area, so the only real endgame open world part is pretty shitty and doesn't have a legacy dungeon either. I actually dislike farum azula too, its boring to look at imo (too similar to archdragon peak) and it reuses the same enemies too much for how long it is. Disagree with most of the boss stuff, I was using a slow-ish weapon (curved greatsword, its no collosal weapon in slowness but it definitely isnt like a katana) and fire giant was actually pretty fine, with the horse he sucked but without he was a fine fight imo, his attacks are easy to dodge even with him being so big, his second phase is boring and sucks though, its just projectile spam that all you have to do to avoid is run at him. Neil is a fine fight but his knights are so unnecessary and stupid, just artificial difficulty, I agree. Godskin is literal constipation as a boss fight. Malikith is a great fight overall but that first phase is odd, its just breaks the pace of the fight, it should have only been for the first 25% and he is pretty slow but has that one double swipe attack that just sucks. Godfrey is really good, dont think there is anything wrong with his combos, often you can actually hit him during his combos because he will keep attacking the air. I have no real problems with the final boss, Radagon is a blast to fight imo, he has good tells and is easily punishable but also weaves attacks together well and is satisfying to learn (which you will have to in order to fight elden beast) at a distance he is annoying and sometimes just does obnoxious lightning bolt spam, which I would imagine sucks as a ranged character, but I like to play aggresively so it wasnt a problem much. Elden beast is a worse fight, he is too big for most his moves, runs away too much, projectiles often cover the screen and elden stars is practically impossible to dodge. However even with all this, the fight looks fantastic and is easy enough that I dont get that mad, its more of a reward for getting radagons fight down so well. Malenia I love, similar fight to maria and friede which are my favourite types of fights. Her lore actually isnt that interesting I agree. Waterfowl sucks balls but thats the only move I think is bad. I actually dislike the ending of elden ring (obviously this is unrelated to you being relieved part) but I dont like the final cutscenes, these short cutscenes make more sense for dark souls but after such an epic adventure to become elden lord, there should be a better ending then: "and then the tarnished sat on the throne and it was good/bad/sad/alright" or ranni appearing and then a moon appearing, her spouting a bunch of weird shit and then credits rolling. Frenzy flame actually is good because it shows the impact on the world other than a colour change, shame its the super bad ending (I know there is moral stuff involved about chaos and difference being bad but it is clearly the bad ending) Like you said yours is, this is obviously all my opinion, thanks for sharing yours with me I appreciate it.
I have 600 hours plus in DS1 and it is definitely my personal favourite. There is no game with a better level/world design than the first half. Eldenring and Bloodborne are able to channel some of this level design, but do not reach the same detail. There are several moments that have burned themselves into my brain just purely by the way the world is designed. Taking the elevator from the undead chapel looking down to firelink shrine. How Darkroot Basin is connected to 5 different areas through various shortcuts and how the ladder you take to Sif is the same you take downwards to Kalameet. When you first step out of the Hollow and are shocked by this completely surreal image of the old trees and one of the only areas with music playing. First arriving in Anor Londo, looking down at the city. My favourite route to take when starting a new playthrough is firelink, new londo, valley, lower blighttown, (sometimes picking up the chlorantine ring in the hollow), valley, basin, parish, burg, town, depths and Capra Demon is the only boss I encountered at that point. It is surreal how much freedom you can have in this game and this is what is missing in all the others, with only Eldenring coming close.
Fr man I feel like us who started with DS1 are rare but we all recognize it as the best. I can’t get into DS3 man, I know it’s super popular and most peoples first with the series, but I just have too many issues with the game. I can and do go back to DS1 all the time. And it has the most mysterious atmosphere. I feel like you had to be there and play it in the context of gaming at the time to understand. Saying it’s dated is just insane, can’t understand that. Rushed especially at the end, yes. But it’s not enough to bring it down. Sekiro is the only other Fromsoft game that brings me the same joy
I strongly agree on Sekiro. Its combat is the best FromSoft has ever produced and dare I say some of the best ever produced in gaming. It's so immersive and emulates the feeling of crossing swords/weapons so damn well. The way each (boss) encounter has its own flow and rhythm is absurdly engrossing. Rarely did I feel like I was playing a game, but more often it felt like actually being in a duel with a skilled opponent. This makes it all the more sad that we never got any Sekiro DLC/Expansions. SPOILERS AHEAD: I would've so loved to learn more about the Western Interior Ministry, or Tomoe (Genichiro's master). I feel the game had plenty of stories left to tell. Hopefully we'll get a sequel or spiritual successor to it that connects to the first game somewhat.
I'd agree on Sekiro having the best combat if it wasnt for the jump dodges. Rofl. Jump on head to doge! Who the fuck came up with that stupid idea. It takes Sekiro from Elden Ring level combat to ds2 level combat.
Elden Ring has been the game that finally brought me to the souls series after being interested in each prior game in the series but never pulling the trigger for one reason or another. After hundreds of hours invested, with as many ahead of me as behind, I'm completely hooked and eager to revisit the former games to see how the series has evolved. Love your content as a newcomer to the franchise and as someone curious about how it has developed and where I should go next. Thanks for the great info!
I would definetly recommend that you play dark souls 3. It might be that im biased but i think that it is the most similar to the combat of elden ring, and in my opinion the best fromsoft game. Great to hear that more players are drawn to fromsoft games because of elden ring!
Eden Ring was my first too. Then I bought the Dark Souls trilogy after beating Elden ring a few times and I absolutely loved every game. It has honestly been hard to go back to Elden Ring after playing Dark Souls 3 especially. I love so many things about Elden Ring but the boss encounters really hurt the game in my opinion especially when you compare them to Dark souls 3 or DS2 DLC. Elden Ring feels like 1 step forward and 2 steps back for me.
@@largestarmsgreatestcharm8231 Elden Ring is great but I didn’t particularly love the boss lineup, didn’t dislike them either they just didn’t feel as memorable or quite as good for me, although once DLC is out that could change as those are usually the best bosses
Play DS3, it’s my personal favourite and has the best bosses of the souls series especially in the DLC. For me it goes 1. DS3 2. Elden Ring 3. Bloodborne 4. Sekiro 5. DS1 6. Demon souls 7. DS2
Personally as a Souls noob, I love Sekiro’s combat to death and wish every Souls game before and after could’ve followed in its footsteps, it’s pure perfection in how it’s quick to learn but hard to master, even by hour 10 I still struggled to beat regular enemies
while Sekiro is not my fav out of them all, but i do think that it had the most perfected combat system. saying that but i still completely disagree, each game has it's own vibe and each game should stay true to their combat system, it's their identity, if you change it into something else (lets say sekiro combat in bloodborne), then that ruins the game as a whole.
im pretty bad at sekiro, but i dont think the other games should have sekiro combat, one of the things i like about the other souls game is the varying builds, you're stuck with a sword in sekiro
Bloodbourne has the best soundtrack, weapons and outfits for me. Its another setting that feels lived in and its genuinely so creepy and intense due to the enemies being so aggressive that there's been times I've had to put my controller down and take a breath. I would say i enjoyed bloodbourne and elden ring equally but i played elden ring with all my friends playing the same time, not multiplayer just playing at same times, but bloodbourne i played late and by myself and it felt even creepier for that reason as i didnt really have people to bounce ideas off of or ask for hints.
In my case the excessive aggressiveness in some areas actually pulled me into moving forward. For example in the Nightmare of mensis, that Frenzy attack at the beginning made me keep going just to avoid it, then once I got out of it you get into the castle where wolves, brainsuckers and other enemies attack, so I had to keep moving forward to get out there, then you get to the Yharnam hunters, and so on. it was until I reached the previous room to Mergo Wet Nurse that I had time to rest. I feel that the enitre game is designed for you to just go to one more room. Same case with Old Yharnam, Byrgenwerth, The begining are in Old Hunters. Ths game pulls you in.
that happens to me with a lot of older horror type games or games that have a scary setting in general, if no one is playing it and it’s past it’s point of interest in the internet then it honestly feels more isolated and scary
Yo can y’all imagine if they make a bloodborne open world next? i wouldn’t want it to be as big as elden ring but more condensed and lived in and with that same from software touch it could be the greatest game of all time right before elden ring lol. Hopefully they can find a way to make more build variety’s for the next bloodborne to though
I like the thought of the majority of the map being an entirely interconnected Yarnham city that is essentially a huge circular space - back to the design ethos of DS1's first half, but with the resources at hand to actually craft an enormous space like that. To the fringes of the city you have an open field section that is reminiscent of ER's world design. Imagine the map as a huge square, with Yarnham directly in the middle. Maybe have choice items that unlock certain sections of the city nestled away in the open world sections. The more you explore the open world section, the further up the city you can traverse. I feel as though a lot of Bloodborne's hierarchy was displayed through how far up you lived within the city in a vertical sense.
@@coolguycoolergamer2724 idk if it’s to wishful thinking… they’re already going in that direction and trying to take the next big step on there games by making elden ring open world .. and bloodborne was miyazakis favorite game he made so why wouldn’t they give it the open world treatment and a lot of care for bloodborne 2
@@CHAMPisBEAST It's more of a joke, but who knows whether bb2 will ever come out. Sure he loves the game, but as much as I love Bloodborne, there's not much pointing to a sequel. I hope I'm wrong.
Bloodborne has so many things about it that just make it an absolute dream to play. The fast paced combat, incredible weapon diversity, the aesthetic, the music, and so much more. It's the only from soft game I've played 25+ times. My personal favorite play through was when I turned the HUD off. No longer did things like health bars and inventory management break my immersion, and I just became enthralled with the game flow. It was a little harder, but I actually played better! Its the first time I no hit some of the harder bosses like Ludwig and Martyr Lugarius.
@@JDisclmd tbh that doesn't sound that fun for me. I'm not that great at the game, I'd probably just get excessively frustrated. I don't have that much spare time, and while I obviously love a good FromSoftware challenge, I'm not a masochist, lol.
@@aldrinvendt8524 oh well it’s funny because at first I didn’t think bloodborne was as good as ds3 for example but after playing it more often it got better and better than I started a bl4 run and I really started to see how good this game is and it became my favorite game of all time.
@@JDisclmd NICE! clearly you have either greater patience or skill than I, probably both. I'd say bloodborne is my favorite game of all time too! I actually did give myself a level cap of 35 for 1 run so I could use both the Rokuyo and Whirligig (my favorites). More than anything it showed me how insane BBPs are. But even that tried my patience at times, I think a BL 4 would still be too much for me.
I LOVE Bloodborne. It was also my gateway into Souls games. I didn't expect to enjoy it so much, but as you said so eloquently, the music is really what motivates you to keep pushing through the challenges you face against each boss. It's so immersive and epic.
Mine too. Had a rough toxic relationship with it at first. Bought it first when it came out but didn’t finish it due to the difficulty then left it. Fast forward to 2022 and i finally finished it and got the platinum with it. Felt so accomplished lol
Bloodborne is always going to be my number one favorite because when I first play it I was so confused about the landscape We're in a castle city area and everything looks dead and the inhabitants are afraid of you like you the plague or something. You're a hunter, what's the story behind being a Hunter and everything that became so dark and who are the great ones before Bloodborne? Also more importantly because it reminds me of Berserk because of the hunters mark and all little aspects of it
Is it still worth it? Want to try all soulsborne games before elden Ring dlc comes out, but it feels janky, and I feel like bloodborne remaster or remake is on the way soon
@@randomfellow1483 have you played it now? If not, ik i'm late but yes it's very worth it, it's not janky at all and combat's awesome, bosses are also great. Although it runs at 30 fps which many people don't like so yeah, that's up to you whether you're fine with that or nah.
DS1 takes the cake for me. It may not be so polished, and it may be dated, but all those things give it more charm to me, and it feels like the most intimate and magical experience. The ambiance of it is unrivaled.
It's certainly the most authentic/hardcore one. However, in my opinion, Bloodborne is a better product overall and Elden Ring was the amalgamation of FromSoftware's brilliant work, so it's my #3 FromSoft game. I have to state though that DS3 seems to me like a surface level DS1, asides from the improved gameplay.
@@stefanostsougkranis5851 I can understand that. Bloodborne is certainly way more consistent and Elden Ring is the grandest in scale. But for me, Elden Ring and DS3 lack the intimacy of DS1 and BB (My close no 2), and the peaks in DS1 feel much more novel and new compared to them. Nothing really compares to arrival in Anor Londo for me, though I felt like Leyndell tried. While the gameplay is certainly more dated it doesn't feel worse, as the slower pace is deliberate. My only complaint with DS1 is the rushed second half, but it is at least over pretty quickly, and the Kiln is an incredible finale. I also think AotA is the second best DLC in the series, following The Old Hunters, so that definitely adds points. But all in all I definitely have a bit of nostalgia bias, because I can acknowledge that BB is slightly objectively superior.
@@jad563 For context: Dark Souls 1 was my first FromSoft game and it blew my mind in many ways. Bloodborne was the reason I bought PS4 and I would gladly do it again. Elden Ring was the first game of FromSoft that I was in the hype train since the announcement and I bought it day one, so imagine how happy I was when I realized that this is another special entry in the franchise. I think that trying to be objective we underestimate what Elden Ring was in its totality to balance off the recency bias and overestimate older entries like BB and DS1 because of nostalgia. Also, as you also mentioned, we're talking about a series of games with great dlcs. The dlcs evelate BB and DS1 to new heights. Elden Ring, atm, has only the core experience.
@@jad563 bloodborne isn't "objectively superior" it still has tons of issues that people constantly neglect to mention. If any single souls game is "objectively" the best it's probably DS3 as it has the least amount of bs, the most consistent design, most consistent gameplay, fair difficulty, and a lot of lore. However DS1 is still my favorite, and I'm doubtful a lot of people would say DS3 is their favorite, not to say it's bad. Imo using "objective" ranking for these games is flawed, I feel like i made that obvious by saying DS3 is the best, even though most don't consider it to be. These games all have flaws, none are perfect, bloodborne especially.
Couldn't agree more! Bloodborne is a true masterpiece. The world design, the ambiance, the music, the bosses and overall style... Just impeccable..I'll be checking out your BB playthrough videos!
@@Bigbilly-ms9bn The worst ones were Rom, Micolash, Emissary and Hemwick. Blood Starved Beast, One Reborn sucked as well. With Amygdala, Paarl and Amelia I'm willing to say it could be a me issue but not so sure even at 3 playthroughs in. Other ones were just ok or very good. Dlc is a masterpiece. if you want to know why I think these bosses ask feel free to ask about specific ones.
@@dogepowercz9459 All the soul games have shitty bosses. There is only so much time to make the game. DS2 has over 40 bosses, i would say maybe 9 are good. Similarly DS1 has tons of shitty bosses( capra demon, stray demon, discharge, lost izalith, etc....), even some of the newer games like DS3 and Elden ring have shitty bosses.
damn, the exact same ranking I would have made. Elden Ring is amazing and has the highest highs of any fromsoft game, but at the same time it has more flaws than I can attribute to the other games.
@@juancampos9468 DS1 has more flaws because it's early in the series don't you think? The future games built on that. I think it was a good starting point for sure. Bloodborne is the peak of it all imo. Elden Ring is fun, but once it's flaws are pointed out it's hard to overlook them and there are many.
@@DHRP614 I do agree elden ring has many flaws but I feels that to do with its high ambition meaning that it can make more mistakes than the previous games and with ds1 a lot of its issues are because of a rushed development really I mean as much as I love the lore of the witch of izalith, lost izalith has to be one of the worst levels I've ever played in a video game
@@juancampos9468 Alas, I've only seen my brother play through DS1 and I didn't play DS2. I have the remake for Demon Souls, but I'm still playing Elden Ring so I'll get to that later. Bloodborne was my first, so maybe there's bias. DS3 was great, even if Sister Friede was playing BB and I was playing DS. Gael and Midir were great. I suppose you're right though. Big game has more problems because it's a big game. For me it's the bosses and them being reused like Astel and the many dragons. I didn't enjoy the Lake of Rot, but it wasn't for long. I can let that go. Melania and the Elden Beast were what made me really think twice about the game. They have big ambitions which is fine, but it feels like the bosses are evolving and we're not. It forced me to change my build. Something I never want to do since I prefer a strict melee build with spells/incantations only providing buffs for me instead of using them for offense.
I had never played a Souls game until ER. I bought it for my daughter and after watching her playing for about 15 mins I promptly took over and have finished that game through three times, I have finished DS3, and have just started BloodBorne. These games are so damn good they've completely consumed my game time from everything else I had started playing. If you've never played these games...I highly recommend them.
I regret not starting these games earlier in my life. I was intimidated by the "It's so difficult, you will game rage! Don't do it." But then I played Bloodborne a couple of months ago and I absolutely fell in love with the lore and game play style. Yeah, I game raged hard, but I loved every victory that I achieved after finally changing strategies. Now I am working on DS1, and, although it doesn't give the same "oomph" as Bloodborne, I still love it. I can't wait to play Elden Ring. So excited for what I still have to discover in these games.
I was waiting for a comment like this because I felt the same exact way. I was intimidated by how hard the fights were and I thought there was no way to level up my character. Bloodborne is now one of the top ten best games I've ever played.
@@ValentinPagliari Then play it, it's so worth it. And if you like a fair challenge, Bloodborne is above Elden Ring, slightly beneath Sekiro. The replayability, music, memorable boss designs, and world-building are way better than in Sekiro though, so I think Bb deserves a spot in the top three no matter what.
@@daelaenor i would like but im in the 3rd world. I sold my ps4 for making me a pc when i did not know about souls series. And now i have to wait to prices normalizes because im in Argentina. A PS5 with all the taxes and shit is like 1500 bucks, and im student. I played it once and killed first bosses, pretty unique atmosphere.
I have elden ring 3rd, DS3 second, and bloodborne 1st out of all the soulsBorne series. I’m glad I’m not the only one who enjoys ds3 more then elden ring. Elden ring is overwhelming and I’m not talking difficulty wise, I have to google something every 15-20 minutes. There’s just too much in that game. I love it, I’m on my 3rd play through but I’m still having to google and search online like mad on where I need to go or what items I need etc… never had those problems in any of the souls games or bloodborne. Even sekiro, Ya maybe 2 or 3 times I had to google, but that’s it.
While I might put Elden Ring at number one now, Bloodborne was the one that pulled me into these types of games. It's what made DS1, Demons Souls (OG, haven't played remake), and Sekiro click for me, and what convinced me to buy DS3 even though I haven't played it yet. So depending on the day, I might put it at #1 too.
I also started with DS3 and it’s what made me fall in love with the series. DS1 really held back by the second half of the game. The dlc and up to O&S is my favorite in the series but I cannot get over the later areas. They are atrocious.
Wait..you didn't enjoy running around massive empty lava rooms with giant assholes on legs? Lmfao. I love DS1 so much but toally agree that level up through bed of chaos sucks lol. Actually there are some cool things there like solaires questline.
@@mahatmaniggandhi2898 lol nah I've always enjoyed it. Bed of chaos only slightly annoyed me and that one lava area is pretty quick to run through. I loved the way the game opens up after the lord vessel. It's a masterpiece even with the flaws.
Bloodborne will forever be my favorite and just began playing Eldon Ring. My only exposure to the Demon series has been Bloodborne, I'm from the older generation so late to gaming and began playing once I retired. Definitely both games are extremely challenging for me thank goodness for TH-cam and downloads of tips and assistance. I have an insatiable appetite for Eldon and cannot stop playing... cheers
God man I wish I could get into bloodborne like everyone else but I literally just couldn’t. The setting and style of the game is just not interesting to me AT ALL.
Honestly you were spot on when saying the top 4 are interchangeable on any given day. Dark Souls 3, Sekiro, Bloodborne & Elden Ring are all masterpieces bro FromSoft can truly create such amazing pieces of art.
My ranking, without Bloodborne because i have never played it. 6-Demon Souls, ortopedic mechanics, nice areas. 5-Dark Souls, i love the lore and the world design and connections, but a little poor combat system. Also I think that the arististic (not graphic) design is under the other games. 4-Dark Souls II, maybe the best lore and world history of all this games. I love the art and areas (not conections). It has a great replayability. 3-Elden Ring, best aestethics, obviously best exploration. The bosses are great, but very unbalanced if you want to play It solo (my case). The history is fucking awesome. 2-Dark Souls III, my first Souls game, the best bosses (main game and DLCs) epic artistic design, best souls combat mechanics. 1-Sekiro, the best fighting mechanics in all gaming history, nothing more to say.
@Ike Dougenhouser Elden Ring is awesome. But Ds3 was my first souls and I have a special feeling. Sekiro is my 4rd favourite game. Only under Hollow Knight, The Witcher 3, and the absolute king: Red Dead Redemption 2.
Thanks for sharing. Bloodborne is also my favourite at this time. If you want a really good challenge, do a no death run on bloodborne. It took me a lot of tries but I finally did it. You have to take every encounter very carefully, read up on bosses again for weakness’s and what to watch out for. NPC hunters can be incredibly dangerous and sometimes need to be avoided. Give it a go 👍🏻
Elden ring has been my first souls game, and I gotta say it’s a fucking masterpiece. I’ve never played a game more innovative in world design and as unforgiving in combat. I’m personally playing through the game with spirit summons and summon signs (such as rogier for margit or malenia for morgott). I have 70 hours on my current save file and I’m level 112 and I still haven’t beat it yet, and I’m currently trying to beat Malenia. After I beat this game I’ll probably get and play bloodborne, as I can get it for free on ps+, but my god, I don’t think any game will ever top Elden ring for a long time.
In terms of open world, I suppose. Elden Ring isn't as great a game as people make it out to be. The game itself is great. Awesome weapons, exploration is cool, but bosses are reused, duo fights are borderline unfair depending on the duo and your build, and there aren't many unique bosses. Some bosses are either too big or some are playing Bloodborne while you're playing Dark Souls (Melania). I think you should watch the video "Elden Ring is a Shattered Masterpiece." It puts it in better words than I can. The game is great, but there are flaws that once pointed out are really hard to overlook.
@@DHRP614 theres 70 different bosses. You are just wrong and all the other stuff can be said for all souls games. There is no 10/10 game but these games and elden ring included arent overrated at all. There is no game you can point that doesnt have problems you ,, cant overlook,,
@@blackvalio4060 "You are just wrong" you're not worth having the conversation with if that's your go to. Didn't say other games were perfect. Elden Ring just has more issues than people think. Of course games have their issues. Not all are perfect. You added nothing by saying that. Watch the video I talked about in my first comment. Don't plan on replying to you, so come up with whatever "comeback" you think you have instead of just watching the video to better explain the issues many players have with the game.
@@DHRP614 you are literally factually wrong. What am i supposed to say. Its a googlw search away. And im sorry but you are acting like a child. ,, yeah all so called 10/10 games have problems but elden ring has more than that,, its just not true
@@blackvalio4060 both of you are right and wrong, factually speaking. Yes, there are 70 types of bosses, give or take, but only around 10-11 of those are unique (unique being defined as only seen once and never repeated again after their first encounter). For context, even main story bosses like Godrick and Astel are reused sometimes.
This is the same ranking I would give. Bloodborne’s atmosphere is unparalleled by presenting gothic horror plagued by fear of the unknown cosmos. No other game has left me so intrigued yet so confused at the same time, it’s an absolute masterpiece
Out of the Soulsborne games I’ve played I’d have to rank them as the following: 1. Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice. My favorite game of all time. Absolute 10/10 2. Bloodborne. I love the aesthetic, the combat and the lore. Only complaint is that the game can get a bit easy. 3. Elden Ring. Fun game but a bit too long. At first the reused bosses didn’t bother me that much but after a while it got kinda annoying. I played through about 2/3 of the game with a Claymore until I was forced to switch due to not doing any damage or being able to punish any bosses. Speaking of which, they felt very disappointing. Of course not all bosses were bad (I wouldn’t say any were) but their designs were kinda ”generic”. That’s the best word I have to describe them even though I wouldn’t call them generic. Also it felt like they took all ideas they’ve ever had and put them all in the game. It felt like it didn’t have its on identity. I had fun, but I’m already back to Bloodborne and Sekiro.
It's interesting that Sekiro is your favorite if you don't like boss reuse. That game probably has the most proportionally in the series outside of Elden Ring. Less boss encounters overall than ER but still the 5 headless, 4 lone shadows, 4 drunkards etc. Also with the main game bosses the monk, ape, genichiro, owl (although that one is quite different).
@@guitaraobscura8802 I know precisely what you mean. Probably the only complaint I could have about Sekiro is that several bosses are reused, but the combat is just so much fun to get good at and master every eneny so it never really bothered me that much.
I played BloodBorne second to last (before Elden ring) cause I had to buy a bloody ps4 to play it. It was worth it, completely worth it. I think I played the games in the same order as you l. BloodBorne is my favourite game in the series.
Here's my list: 1. Bloodborne 2. Elden Ring 3. Sekiro (haven't finished this one yet) 4. Dark Souls 3 5. Dark Souls 1 6. Dark Souls 2 7. Demon's Souls 8. Dark souls 2 SotFS
After playing Demon's Souls last year and getting the Platinum Trophy on Elden Ring just a few days ago, I'm considering buying the Dark Souls Trilogy. I really loved exploring and experiencing everything ER had to offer and I appreciated the time spent going through Demon's Souls. Definitely eager to try the DK games and the other FromSoftware titles !
The Demon's Souls remake is a visual masterpiece, but doesn't hold a candle to the Dark Souls games in my opinion, let alone the unique brilliance of Sekiro and Bloodborne. By most peoples' reckoning you've played one of the weakest and one of the strongest, so I can't see why you won't enjoy the others :) I could understand finding DS1 and 2 a little dated in comparison but still absolutely worth it.
Was it not shocking how much better Demon's Souls remake looked than any previous title? I mean, it's noticeably better looking than Elden Ring, which I love.
Dark souls 3 is the best. The most content, best story, best level design, and best mechabic next to sekiro and elden.. No need for the others. But ds2 is better than bloodbourne and og ds by far.
Just throwing this ranking out there to see if anyone feels the same and I’m not just crazy lol From worst to best (never had a chance to play demon souls so it’s not here) 6:Dark souls 3 5:Elden ring 4:Dark souls 2 3:Dark souls 2:Sekiro 1:Bloodborne I love all of these games though, this is the order essentially of what I enjoyed playing the most, not what’s objectively good or whatever
Bloodborne is the best experience I've had with a video game. Beat it (including the DLC) a few days ago. The combat perfectly suited my play style (I always found it challenging - I had to think and test theories - but never irritatingly difficult...you're able to learn something every time you face a boss), the music is unparalleled (have it downloaded on my phone), the lore is awesome, the areas are great...I could go on, but pretty much everything about that game is absolute perfection.
@@randomfellow1483 I can’t remember what my run time was. Doesn’t take that long. Savour it though, this will be one of the best experiences you’ll ever have in a video game. Whatever happens, don’t quit. I guarantee it will be worth it. Hell, you’re making me want to replay it
30 frames no pc port imput lagg every area looks the same bad camera in boss fights having to go back to the huntersdream every time you want to resest the area and these loading times are pretty bad even on ps5 but sure if you want to call it perfect be delusional is guess
I think everyone can completely agree that your first souls game is guaranteed to be a more magical experience than the others, and if it wasn’t, it at least took part of that magic from the ones you played afterwards. I will admit, I really dislike Bloodborne but for more biased opinionated reasons, and I accept that Bloodborne is a good game, especially the dlc. I won’t agree with a lot of what people say because it comes down to personal preference and circumstances. I think there are a few things that remain consistent however. I think everyone can agree that dark souls 3 is the hardest of the dark souls games, with Sekiro being the hardest fromsoft game in all. I think Bloodborne has a good atmosphere and rally mechanic, Sekiro is the most innovative and challenging, and dark souls is the most in-depth and immersive experience, especially dark souls 1. For me, dark souls 3 is the best including dlc, but it really comes down to definition of best; because if I phrased it like “which fromsoft game is the most difficult, immersive, and mechanically complex simultaneously?”, I think most would agree that it’s dark souls 3. But, these are just the things that’s important to my gaming experience. We must take into account that other people prefer things like atmosphere, simplicity, less rpg mechanics, more innovative games, or maybe even just which game is most unique. When a game hits just right, there’s a specific magic to it that just can’t be beat.
@@Slimex26 I had a bad time with many of the bosses, not that any of them were overly difficult, actually the opposite. The only fights I had difficulty with were because of my lack of knowledge of mechanics or from cheap fake difficulty chalice dungeon bosses, or gimmick fights. On top of that, I would say any fight that isn’t fake difficult, for the most part is wayyyy too easy. I think fights like Rom, shadows of yarhnam, Micolash, Moon Presence, Witches of Hemwick, and Moon Presence suffer horrendously from these issues. Notice the issue with that? I just named 60% of the base game’s bosses. The other fights people would claim are top tier, I would argue against, but I will say German and Vicar Amelia are at least mid. Bloodborne itself is way shorter of a game than any other title, especially if you count out chalice dungeons which about 30% of the game is in, and for most players, are entirely missable or overly complex on the first play through, leading you to have to play 20 copy and paste levels in ng+ that are way too easy, minus the final few which are just difficult because they scaled the same enemies you’ve been fighting for 30 hours up by a ton. I started to count the levels in the game out to myself, thinking there was only 4, but after 10 or so minutes I realized there’s actually 10, so I will actually say the game has 10 decent levels. The problem I have however, is a number of these levels are optional, overly short, or just incredibly forgettable. Everyone talks about gherman being an amazing boss, but no one talks about how easy it is to miss his fight, like I did. Imagine that. Mergo was the worst fucking final boss anyone could’ve asked for. Some people will defend it saying “the music is good and the setting is unique”, which I do agree with, however it completely falls flat when you see how poorly they executed what they had to work with, completely failing to redeem the game. It has three builds, dex , str, or arcane, none of which have many options; most players will default to one of 2 weapons. Beating the game on a normal ng+ without even trying to go fast takes me like 2 hours, most of the good content is few and far between essentially, and the parts that are supposed to tie it together entirely fall flat. Side quests are buggy, easily missable, very complicated without guides, and just entirely unrewarding. When I think of it the only thing that comes to mind is the first level, the final boss which I had to replay only to be disappointed by, the unpromising mechanics, and just the unbalanced gameplay. It’s just a forgettable game no matter how you slice it.
I have the exact same thing. Everyone else seems to love bloodborne, but for me, I was never the biggest fan, It was too short and the bosses outside Gasgoing, Logarius, Gherman and the DLC were all pretty underwhelming.
@@gamzeemakara7409 I agree with everything you said except sekiro. (I think sekiro is dope tho) rn I am playing sekiro for the first time and this is the order I have played/beat souls games ds1,ds3,Elden ring, ds2, Bloodborne , and now sekiro. I beat all main game bosses on my first try except for lady butterfly and demon of hatred. I beat those two bosses my 3rd or 4th try. Now back to Bloodborne. Bloodborne gets carried by the dlc. Without the dlc the bosses are super underwhelming
My list: 7: Dark souls 2 Vanhilla 6: Dark souls 3 5: Bloodborne 4: Dark souls 2 Scholar of the first sin 3: Dark souls 1 2: Sekiro 1: Elden Ring Obs: I wish Bloodborne wasn't a playstation exclusive, so I would complete it and enjoy every single moment of this game. Besides, for me it's the only 1000g left of all souls games .
I played DS1 and 3 again this year, and they remain as the only soulslikes ye've beaten, and now I agree with this list, DS1 will always have a spot in my mind, but 3 is simply phenomenal with its bosses and parts of the lore explained and detailed
Sekiro is 1. Best combat ever in a video game, some of the best bosses and level design too. I'm sorry, but nothing from ER or DS3 touches Owl Father or Sword Saint
@@CITYZEN50 you seem to have bias bc of your username. Er is more better. More content, more bosses etc. but I never finished bloodborne yet. I got the refuse ending. But I got spoiled and I still didn’t play it. I can tell you what I got spoiled on if you finished Bloodborne.
@@punchitstudiosinc.1246 "more content and more bosses" you mean reused garbage bosses? One thing that will never change is my love for Bloodborne. Aside from Sekiro, none of the other soulsborne games feel so unique to me. I miss trick weapons and really hope those PC port rumors are true eventually
You know what it is about blood borne… it’s the usual from soft story line told through crumbs of information but it’s actually enough to create an actual story that you can dive into. Some of the others are too ambiguous.
My first was Bloodborne, I was taken away from the spectacle. Never before had I ever played a game like it before. Second was the Dark Souls. The interconnectivity was breathtaking. Going from undead perish to firelight was a wow moment. Third was Dark souls 3, technically it was 2 but I didn't get far before I quit due to graphics, and the broken hitboxes. DS3 wasn't as good as 1 but the bosses were incredible. Gael was whoo. Fourth was DS2, I want back to it after beating 3 and fell in love with it. Once I got my rolling Stat upgraded I started having fun. It is without a doubt my least favorite but I still love it. Fifth was Sekiro. Boy oh boy this game separated the men from the boys no doubt. Struggled at first for a while but once the game play clicked I felt like the strongest swordsman ever. Finally was elden ring. The massive open world made my jaw drop many times. The god level difficulty at the end was tedious but fun at the same time. Hopefully one day I'll play demon souls. From soft is the best of the best.
My first game was blood borne too and it honestly opened up a new genre of storytelling and gameplay for me and while it was challenging it felt rewarding as well. Loved it and now I’m in love with sekiro. But still love darksouls 1/3 but not 2.
My main problem with Sekiro versus all other Souls games is there is ONE way to play the game. All other souls games have different "classes" (playstyles) to enjoy and I would beat them using most of the different classes. It's almost like playing a completely different game by just changing your class. Sekiro you have a pure dex build and that's it.
I put 800 hours into Elden Ring, easily the best game Fromsoft has ever made. But I wish Bloodborne was as massive as Eldenring lol because I didn't want Bloodborne to ever end
Top 3 for me is tied between sekiro, bloodborne, and Elden ring. Sekiro has the best bosses and combat system Bloodborne best lore and atmosphere And Elden ring is just fun to run around and take in how massive the game is and all the content and build possibilities
The algorithm loves you man. Interesting list, if D1 was higher then this would be the classic expected list when talking with randoms. Not saying a list of opinions can be wrong, but it’s interesting that BB has somehow always kept the throne of popular best Souls when bringing out this discussion.
I recorded this video with Elden Ring rated first, and then slept and changed my mind. You can kinda tell with the way the script is worded. I legitimately can't decide (for my personal enjoyment). I also don't have the same nostalgia others do for DS1 so that's probably why it's a bit lower
My rank is: 1-Bloodborne 2- Dark Souls 3 3- Sekiro 4- Elden Ring ... far far away in quality (that doesn't make them bad games, but the top4 are masterpieces) 5- Demon's Souls Remake 6- Dark Souls 7- Dark Souls 2 8- Demon's Souls 2009
I always love clicking on a video like this, the screen fading to black at the beginning, and the music of majula slowly starting. You just feel at home
I usually try not to follow the hype and mob attitude, but I truly believe Elden Ring is the absolute best game of the series by far. World design is at it's peak; although the open world formula hinders the sort of focus that the smaller games in the series can benefit from, each of the zones are distinctly unique and have their own story to tell through building architecture and curiosities spotted throughout the maps. The bosses are by far the best in the series; Regal Ancestral Spirit was the most enchanting boss experience I've ever had, Astel was almost equally as enchanting yet also terrifying, and the final boss... Was just so unbelievably epic and once again enchanting when you transition to the second phase. So many more bosses that completely took me by surprise in terms of their visual design, soundtrack, relation to the lore, and attack patterns. Such a masterpiece of a game
I'm very pleased with this ranking, and it's very simmilar to how I would rank them. My main complain with souls rankings always, has been that DS1 is consistently in the first spot, but this game has soooo many flaws and such lowpoints that it can't objectively be considered no 1. Like most people, I have my favourites, and in my heart nothing beats Demon's souls and Bloodborne, but if I take my nostalgia glasses away and try to take it as objectively as possible, I'd say the ranking would be something like this IMO: 7. DS2 6. DS1 5. Sekiro (though this one is difficult to place, since it's very different than other souls games) 4. Demon's souls 3. Bloodborne TIE no. 1 and 2: DS3 and Elden ring: Depending on whether you prefer the metroidvania level design and pacing, or the freedom of the open world, each player will choose one or the other as favourite. PS: Besides gameplay, ambientation and degree of polish, i'm factoring variety (in terms of how you can approach the game) into tne ranking. I'm also factoring PVP into the ranking, since it's one of the things that gives the game longevity. hence some games might raise or drop a bit because of this.
@Blaevy Depends on what other game you compare it to, but it's undeniable that DS3 is essentially a "best hits" compliation of mechanics from previous games, hence it stands in a compfy middle ground where it polishes a lot of the faults from previous games (while introducing new ones of course). If your point is regarding me giving DS3 a tie with Elden ring, then objectively speaking DS3 does have pros when compared with ER, mainly in the pacing department. Don't know about you, but ER has pacing issues, sometimes it seems too hard if you wander into the wrong area, others it seems too easy because you arrived to a beginner's area that you missed early game, DS3 on the other hand you're always the right amount of powerful for the area you go in. And of course, PVP, DS3 PVP is substantially better than ER.
I'm with you... Elden Ring and Bloodborne are definitely tied for first. I don't agree with your final order. I certainly hope that Elden Ring has some DLC. If it is anything like the DLC for the previous games, we are in for a real treat. I have a feeling that will cement Elden Ring in as the top tier From Software game.
I’d say ds3 and bloodborne are at the top for first place. Ds3 has the best bosses and lore while bloodborne has the best gameplay and combat style imo

Great to see DS3 higher up! Mine would be. 7. Dark Souls 2 - Even though it's down here, i still like the game, Fume Knight and Sir Alonne are some of the best fights in the series and the areas like Majula and Drangleic are memorable. Unfortunately, there are so many things that make this game a frustrating experience, such as not being able to pass boss run ups such as Sir Alonne's and the Chariot's due to being able to be stunned out of animations, areas like the optional dlc areas and the boss designs. Still a good game overall. 6. Demon's Souls - Even though it may not have the highs of boss fights like Alonne or Fume Knight, Demon's Souls makes up for in having one of the most memorable atmospheres and one of the most mysterious stories in fromsoft's catalogue, and it has surprisingly aged well considering it's a 2009 game. And it's mechanics and level design is less frustrating than DS2's overall apart from the terrible last area. The game deserves a lot of respect for being the first of its kind. 5. Dark Souls 1 - One of the fan favourites and for good reason. It is one of the most influential games of the 2010's. It has amazing atmosphere, music, side stories like Artorias and Sif, and some great boss fights like Artorias, but i know it's been said before, but i can't place it higher because of its second half and some of its mandatory boss fights are a nightmare. 4. Dark Souls 3 - Don't let the 4th place take away from the fact that this is almost a perfect game in my eyes. It has the best boss catalogue easily imo and amazing gameplay that i prefer heavily to the other souls games. It has my favourite soundtrack too. I just wish its world was a bit more interesting and inspired, and it don't like its overall colour palette. But overall it's an amazing game and up there with Bloodborne and Sekiro. 3. Bloodborne - My first souls game and has aged insanely well, its core melee gameplay is better than Elden Ring's imo and it has quite possibly the best dlc of all time. If i had to nitpick some gripes, the story feels a bit hollow compared to Sekiro's despite being amazing overall, a lot of the bosses in the main game fall short from DS3's bosses, and the chalice dungeons are repetitive and lazy just like the dungeons from Elden Ring. 2. Sekiro - Sekiro had the best combat system i've ever experienced from any game, great atmosphere, some of the best characters in the series, some of the best areas in the series and the best story overall. It feels the most different from the other games, i just wish it had dlc. Some gripes, repetitive bosses at times and i just wish it was longer. 1. Elden Ring - Though this game might have some of the biggest flaws in the series, i just couldn't resist placing it here. It's their most beautiful game and feels like it has so much more to offer compared to the other games. The vastness of their underground areas, the atmosphere of places like Farum Azula, Leyndell, the underground rivers, Caelid and Liurnia. It's just awe inspiring and insanely detailed. It has more interesting characters overall than previous games too. Boss fight wise, it is a little disappointing as they didn't take advantage of the game's mechanics but it still has some standouts. Overall the best game i've ever played.
It’s pretty crazy how amazing all these games are. As a disclaimer, I haven’t played demons souls, so my ranking would be from worst to best: 6. Ds2 5. Ds1 (this was my first one btw) 4. Ds3 3. Sekiro 2. Bloodborne 1. Elden ring The top 3 are all around the same quality imo, I’d enjoy doing another playthrough of either of them the same.
@oidotsuc I agree with the copy pasting( my only major problem) and lack of balance with certain weapons, but at the same time you can choose your own difficulty. I would choose to limit myself if something was too strong(I died once purposely to Morgott because I wanted to see how the Mimic tear would do and it was too strong). I found the difficulty to be similar to every other souls game, so I disagree on that point. I don't have online for PS4, so I can't speak on the PVP. Many of the complaints feel really minor compared to the strengths of the game. This game has one of the best boss lineups (maybe behind ds3) and had so many amazing moments. The extreme sense of discovery, some of the best levels in the series(Leyndell, Farum Azula, Stormveil, Nokrom and many others), and it has a really engaging combat system with a lot of build/weapon variety. I will never forget many of my memories of the game like finding Siofra or stepping out into Linuria after Stormveil.
@oidotsuc bruh you mentioned the 3 worst levels. Linuria, Nokstella, Weeping Peninsula, Altus Plateau, Limgrave, Volcano Manor, Raya Lucaria, and Limgrave are all great. Difficulty is so subjective that all I can say is that I found it to be fairly challenging for most of it. Pretty much every remembrance boss is great and most of the minibosses are great too. Did you play a different game than me? Also there are plenty of balanced builds, you can ignore the unabalanced ones. I'm curious, what build did you use?

@@RexSerpentum ds2 is my least favorite mainly because the bosses are all pretty generic and bad, the gameplay feels very floaty and the game overall feels like a cartoon
@@RexSerpentum definitely not, at least in my opinion. I really enjoy every other fromsoft game and the bosses, elden ring has some of my favorite boss designs ever. Prime example being maliketh, he's my favorite boss of all time.
@@jesushimself2949 Malekith was also just a sword wielding reflex-dodge-fest. Nothing memorable like lady Astrea or Sif or something like Tower Knight where u first had to orientate, clear the archers and then fight his ankles to bring him to fall. My favorite boss in Elden Ring was Rennala first phase. Calm music, a room full of enemies and a flying Boss that I couldn't hurt. Rykard was nice, too. Most of the other bosses were humanoid sword-wielding dodge bosses.
Of the ones I have played, meaning everything but DeS and BB, I find it extremely hard to decide between DS3, ER and Sekiro. All of them have such clear flaws that one or both of the other games don't have, but all have a genre defining strength to compensate. -DS3 has by far the best boss roster in the series, but outside of them it falters in making normal gameplay interesting. -ER has the best build variety, worldbuilding and exploration, but falters in a lot of boss design and has way too much repetition. -Sekiro has by far the greatest combat, best balance and difficulty curve, but has without a doubt the least interesting lore and story.
Even though I haven't played every game in the series yet, I feel like this will be my ranking too, although I do think with a fantastic DLC Elden Ring could take the throne.
Bloodborne was my first ps4 video game ever, and it was quite the experience. The issue I have now is that I feel like I set the bar too high and I can't find a game that can surpass Bloodborne in my heart. I've just started Elden ring and the game has a ton of positive aspects, but I just can't get used to the open world. I feel like it's too easy to "cheat" because you can easily run through enemies that you don't want to fight. Of course there's nothing holding you back if you want to fight every single enemy but I feel like the game is still very different from what made me love Bloodborne. Still an excellent game tho
@@akashvishwanath1159 Yes, it's definitely a game that I want to try ! But I have to admit I worry a bit about not being able to get used to the gameplay, which seems to be completely different from other soulsborne games.
I just played and beat bloodborne for the first time last week! I beat and platted elden ring before playing bloodborne and that made bloodborne plus the dlc SUPER EASY and not challenging at all. I do think bloodborne is a really cool/great game tho. The non dlc bosses besides gehrman and gascoigne were underwhelming for me tho. great video tho!
Other than Sekiro, I feel all fromsoft games have issues with boss quality. Elden Ring I feel is the absolute worst out of all of these. Out of about 150 bosses in Elden Ring, only 10 are original, and the amount of good bosses are none. The bosses in Elden Ring are Sekiro bosses that somehow made it past development. The damage is egregious of the endgame bosses. You can argue that the dragons are fun zooming around on a horse, but when you see them 10 times, it looses that specialty. Bloodborne’s bosses are all unique excluding Laurence and Cleric Beast, and the bosses, yes, aren’t that amazing in the main game. Only Martyr Logarias, Gascoigne, Gehrman, and Vicar Amelia are good, but, the atmosphere of the levels themselves cannot be outmatched. Even Elden Ring with its massive world doesn’t beat the atmosphere provided in Bloodborne.
@@Kokenbolls Elden ring had a ton of good bosses you are tripping lol. Also, just beat sekiro and idk what you talking about with Elden ring copying sekiro bosses. The “atmosphere” entering stormveil and lyendell was fantastic to name a couple. I’m a player that only cares about bosses and there difficulties/fairness. So for me, all Bloodborne areas felt dark and gothic but if that what u like good for you. I didn’t mean to hurt your feelings I was just stating my opinion.
i think its normal to think that your 2nd formsoft is easy. Started out with BB Gascoigne,Ebrietas, Gehrman and Amelia were big Challenges in my 1st playthrough as i was still learning mechanics. Old Hunters DLC was a nightmare on NG+2 Ludwig destroyed me like atleast 50 times. Then i went onto DS3 and breezed through the game and DLC only Nameless King, Lothric, Gael and Midir were challenges for me.
I would argue that apart from Bloodborne and Sekiro, from software has at no point made a finished game. And it shows in every single one of them. Souls 3 is still incredible. But apart from Sekiro, Souls 3 and Bloodborne, I can't find enjoyment in any of them past a certain point (Souls 1 it's the second half, Souls 2 it's the entire game and Elden ring it's the entire end game (Leyndell, Mountaintop, Haligtree and so on))
As much as BB is a masterpiece, it just can't be the best. DS3 has better bosses and lore (inheriting it from the 1st part and closing the story if the world). Sekiro has better dynamic combat. Elden Ring has better... well, the list will be long. For simplicity, let's just say the World and be done with it.
Gonna be honest, the combat of sekiro was so good it's easily #1 for me, no boss is not fun in that game, and the replayability is so high, way more than any other soulsborne game.
I think it’s a disservice to bring Sekiro down to a “souls like” game. It’s not. It’s better and beyond the clunky combat in those games. Sekiro is their best game by a mile.
@@KevsShwaShwa completely agree, its also simple in the best areas for a boss focused game. You want hp? Collect beads, healing gourds? Seeds, attack power? Kill bosses. I understand a lot of people like the other souls games for the abillity to customize their stats, different classes or whatever but i just wanna play the game the way its meant to be played, you can easilly get overleveled or pick an OP class and feel underwhelmed, i hate that. I also felt like in elden ring for example i get better more so from learning the boss than me actually getting better, in sekiro i learned to parry, react quicker even on bosses i never fought before, ofc learning them helps a great amount but not as much as elden ring. Ofc the combat always felt fast paced and satisfying unlike waiting to time your roll correctly over and over again.
@@James-ft2bh exactly. Build variety and customization don’t really mean much if you don’t have a combat system that lets them shine. Of course there is a lot of fun to be found in trying to make the millions of options Souls and ER have work but as long as the mechanics stay as shallow as they currently are it will never be enough to get me excited for multiple playthroughs. With Sekiro though, I still get excited to fight Geni, Father, Ape, Monk, Isshin on NG+11 because I keep finding ways to be more efficient and get hit less. Just look at Ongbal and how far he was able to push Sekiro’s combat, making use of pretty much every skill, prosthetic and combat art the game has to over (e.g. air deflect into sen throw into Mikiri vs Inner Genichiro). It’s simply much more impressive that the replayabilty comes from bosses and combat + movement mechanics alone (hell, airborne deathblows still feel cool as fuck after the 100000th time) rather than individual customization
@@pouihurmen His videos are also a good example of ds and sekiro, if i remember correctly his ds boss videos are backstabbing and 1 shotting bosses while his sekiro ones especially with community mods look like spectacular fights that require you to stay fully focused through the whole thing.
Bloodborne has the best story, best lore, best world, is tied with ds2 for the best aesthetic, and has the best and hardest bosses of the series. A true masterpiece 10/10. It would be an 11/10 if it ran at 60fps though
@@saturnringer267 i love sony exclusives (not all exclusives) but bloodborne is soooo overrated (the dlc is the true good part) and ds3 in the lore/story/boss is better

All other games except for Bloodborne and Sekiro feel to similar to be impactful. Better than all of these is Nioh 2 but this is a from Software tier list. 1. Demon's Souls 2. Sekiro 3. Bloodborne 4. I love basically all these games almost equally so it's always hard for me to rank them. It really depends on what you rank them on considering a few games do certain things better than the rest. Overall though maybe from best to worst mine would look like 1. Elden Ring 2. Dark souls 1 3. Sekiro 4. Bloodborne 5. Dark souls 2 6. Dark souls 3 7. Demon's souls

Agreed. It’s From’s best game by some margin.
true
7. DS2 (not for me sadly, just feels to clunky to play)
6. Demon's Souls (Fun but just a few to many gimmick bosses and a bit to easy)
5. Sekiro (As I stated, perfect for 1 or 2 playthroughs but not enough replayability for me)
4. DS3 (Very good, sadly a bit to linear and "boring" start of the game imo)
1. DS1, Bloodborne, Elden Ring (I just can't choose between them, they're all very different and I love them for different reasons but as I said recency bias might play a factor)

@@astraelys how so? interested to hear reasoning for it
@@penguinwolf3330 (this is assuming youve already done caelid and mt gelmir) the mountaintops of the giants right after leyndell are just an awful area IMO. it's pretty damn bland and annoying to explore with little to no interesting areas (with the exception of the forge of the giants, which you interact with for like 3 minutes). it's only at farum azula which becomes fun to explore again. not only that, a lot of the bosses after leyndell just suck so much, especially if you're using slow weapons, the fire giant is just a god awful fight (probably don't have to explain this one), commander neil has cancer adds that can true combo you for literally no reason, god skin duo is self explanatory (funnily enough i did them first try without mimic tear in my first playthrough, but still thought they were a retarded fight), maliketh phase 2 is actually pretty good (jumps around a little too much with little down time for slow weapons though) but his phase 1 sucked pretty hard, godfrey was a cool fight (his phase 2 did have some inhumanely long combos though) and radagon/elden beast were definitely the worst final boss of any soulsborne game (though you could argue that dark souls 2 takes that spot, it's a pretty close call).
also forgot about haligtree in the original comment, haligtree was pretty good, though i'm probably one of the only people who think malenia is an overrated boss fight, of course that's just subjective though, it's mainly her character and lore that i find pretty bland, as well as some attacks like waterfowl dance which don't belong in this game and are very obviously cut content from sekiro (you literally get a version of waterfowl dance for yourself in that game)
obviously it's just my opinion, i'm perfectly content with people liking the final third of the game. it's just that elden ring is the first soulsborne game were I was *relieved* to have finished the game after the slog that the final part of the game was for me. literally all other soulsborne games i sat in the credits either excited for the next game (dark souls 1, 2) or sad that the journey was over (dark souls 3, sekiro), but in elden ring's credits I just felt nothing but relief.
Frenzy flame actually is good because it shows the impact on the world other than a colour change, shame its the super bad ending (I know there is moral stuff involved about chaos and difference being bad but it is clearly the bad ending)

If only they could remake this one. I would've taken that over demon souls a thousand times over
Fr man I feel like us who started with DS1 are rare but we all recognize it as the best.

@@ash20453 I hate remakes. They change too much visuals.

Try Sekiro it’s a masterpiece

Perhaps Sekiro was a complete package that did everything fromsoft wanted to do without needing DLC.
I'd agree on Sekiro having the best combat if it wasnt for the jump dodges. Rofl. Jump on head to doge! Who the fuck came up with that stupid idea. It takes Sekiro from Elden Ring level combat to ds2 level combat.

Elden ring is great but dark souls still have the best bosses
Eden Ring was my first too. Then I bought the Dark Souls trilogy after beating Elden ring a few times and I absolutely loved every game. It has honestly been hard to go back to Elden Ring after playing Dark Souls 3 especially. I love so many things about Elden Ring but the boss encounters really hurt the game in my opinion especially when you compare them to Dark souls 3 or DS2 DLC. Elden Ring feels like 1 step forward and 2 steps back for me.
@@largestarmsgreatestcharm8231 Elden Ring is great but I didn’t particularly love the boss lineup, didn’t dislike them either they just didn’t feel as memorable or quite as good for me, although once DLC is out that could change as those are usually the best bosses

saying that but i still completely disagree, each game has it's own vibe and each game should stay true to their combat system, it's their identity, if you change it into something else (lets say sekiro combat in bloodborne), then that ruins the game as a whole.
No, please no.
im pretty bad at sekiro, but i dont think the other games should have sekiro combat, one of the things i like about the other souls game is the varying builds, you're stuck with a sword in sekiro

Demon's souls feels even more magical imo
I’ve never played DS3 but DS1 and 2 are a must play.
@@strafer8764 It's the closest to ER of all of them, really enjoyed it.
I started with Sekiro and yes i am a souls noob. But this series have beast combat. I even deleted sekiro twice but came back somehow.

Elden Ring should be nowhere near number one...

Out of the Soulsborne games I’ve played I’d have to rank them as the following:
1. Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice. My favorite game of all time. Absolute 10/10

Have you played bloodborne?

Bloodborne,
The game that still today is the closest ever to achieving absolute perfection.

When a game hits just right, there’s a specific magic to it that just can’t be beat.
my dude, why do you really dislike bloodborne?
Don’t know why u hate bloodborne, it’s OST is so good

Fact, i hope It happens.
I’d say ds3 and bloodborne are at the top for first place. Ds3 has the best bosses and lore while bloodborne has the best gameplay and combat style imo
I think Elden Ring is the best of the best from Fromsoftware games. It's close to be perfect, really close.
@@skycoso closest to perfection but not perfect...

"it's like choosing a favorite kid but you actually do love both" caugth me off guard lol
As a disclaimer, I haven’t played demons souls, so my ranking would be from worst to best:
6. Ds2
5. Ds1 (this was my first one btw)
4. Ds3
3. Sekiro
2. Bloodborne
1. Elden ring
The top 3 are all around the same quality imo, I’d enjoy doing another playthrough of either of them the same.
My list is pretty much the same, except I would say Ds1=Ds3

I just played DS2 and beat it last week. I loved it immensely!
It's a great game! It's basically King's Field 5 :D Most people just shit over it because it's mainstream....
@@RexSerpentum ds2 is my least favorite mainly because the bosses are all pretty generic and bad, the gameplay feels very floaty and the game overall feels like a cartoon
@@jesushimself2949 Since Dark Souls 2 sadly every Souls game - except Bloodborne - had generic bosses. Even Elden Ring.
Souls games are like Zelda Series. The first title you play is life changing.
Its always in your heart
Let us hope...
Still an excellent game tho
play sekiro if you haven't yet. it'll scratch that bloodborne itch
@@akashvishwanath1159 Yes, it's definitely a game that I want to try ! But I have to admit I worry a bit about not being able to get used to the gameplay, which seems to be completely different from other soulsborne games.
@@darkmelusina8388 yes it definitely is different and has a steep learning curve but once the mechanics click, it becomes immensely enjoyable
I think DS1 is the best second BB third between Skiro and Elden Ring
Just how ? You like low frames
That's fair. BB is my favorite but I really love Ds1
I really hope we get a demon’s souls (PS5) tier remake for both DS1 and Bloodborne someday.
Gehrman is underwhelming? Come on man. That’s one of the best bosses out there.
@@saturnringer267 I parried him and lady Maria . Parrying them makes them underwhelming and super easy
Man you went full cringe when you talked about bloodborne huh? Jesus I can smell your neck beard through the internet
I would argue that apart from Bloodborne and Sekiro, from software has at no point made a finished game. And it shows in every single one of them. Souls 3 is still incredible. But apart from Sekiro, Souls 3 and Bloodborne, I can't find enjoyment in any of them past a certain point (Souls 1 it's the second half, Souls 2 it's the entire game and Elden ring it's the entire end game (Leyndell, Mountaintop, Haligtree and so on))
ER is like souls II 2, so it makes sense since shit 2 is basically shit but with better graphics and that’s exactly what elden ring is to me.
Honestly didn't even finish bb I got bored. Only one I didn't finish
Build variety and customization
don’t really mean much if you don’t have a combat system that lets them shine.
Sekiro’s flaw is replayability… You are tripping lol.
Bloodborne has the best story, best lore, best world, is tied with ds2 for the best aesthetic, and has the best and hardest bosses of the series. A true masterpiece 10/10. It would be an 11/10 if it ran at 60fps though
The ps5 60fps issue?
Ds3 has better bosses tho. And the lore and world building of that is deeper too imo
@@saturnringer267 true bloodborne lore is overrated (ds1/ds3 lore are more deeper and cool)
@@master-d2776 maybe it’s just Sony fanboys. They always overrate ps exclusives
@@saturnringer267 i love sony exclusives (not all exclusives) but bloodborne is soooo overrated (the dlc is the true good part) and ds3 in the lore/story/boss is better
As someone who played all the games in chronological order since Demon's Souls, for me Demon's Souls is by far the best because it was the first and it felt fresh. All other games except for Bloodborne and Sekiro feel to similar to be impactful.
Better than all of these is Nioh 2 but this is a from Software tier list.
1. Demon's Souls
2. Sekiro
3. Bloodborne
4. Ds, Ds2, DS3, Elden Ring
Hey man , been around your channel the whole day , the elden ring video you made , the one quoted " elden ring will change your life " , man !! I've never seen a person explaning things like that...i mean , i loved it dude
Me personally I would have dark souls 3 at number one it just has a special place for Me from the boss fights to the world
I love basically all these games almost equally so it's always hard for me to rank them. It really depends on what you rank them on considering a few games do certain things better than the rest. Overall though maybe from best to worst mine would look like
1. Elden Ring
2. Dark souls 1
3. Sekiro
4. Bloodborne
5. Dark souls 2
6. Dark souls 3
7. Demon's souls
i dont completely agree with the ranking but the big decisions you made i fully agree with lol (like having ds3 and demons souls at the bottom, dark souls 1 near the top)
I don't understand how it's possible to put 2 over ds3. Demon's souls, I get. Hell, I could maybe understand saying you put ds2 over ds1.
@@Satsaru ds3’s my least fave too, it just feels hollower in atmosphere and originality compared to the others
