I think I am confused. Did I understand that you said that you are leaving the rose leaves on the ground to see how resistant to fungus the seedlings are? Help me understand, if the leaves came from the seedlings and didn't show much fungus while they were on the plant why would going through a winter change there fungal resistance?
That’s a really good question! Although most of the roses in the test garden have shown to be resistant towards fungal disease, a few did end up getting a small amount of powdery mildew towards the end of the year (like most! 😂). I’m waiting to see how the roses do in the beginning of the year as they start growing. Hopefully that helps with the confusion, let me know if it did! I definitely see the confusion with how I said it!
