    The extra plate added to the front where the Power pod connects with the 2 skewers is a must and needs to be put on the FT OLD Fogey as well. I had to put one on my Old Fogey, because the foam is a little thin when inserting parallel with the skewers! You guys are always on top of things, thanks!

    You guys are the best! Thanks so much for all that you do in making your plans. A couple of months ago I finished my first FT Versa and went flying with my son who is 3 and we loved it. (I don't know if you could call it flying, it was more like fly-crashing. I'm still in noob status!) I just downloaded these plans for a slow plane to build. Keep it up and thanks again!

    I started this one today with a seasoned builder, scratch build from the plans, my very first build..Very proud of it! Just got to finish the landing gear and a paint job then off to the air! ThanX for all you guys do!

    Love the FT Swappables - still toying with which one to build first - Bixler rocks at builds too! Keep it coming guys - because of you I am going to get into the hobby.

    I think this is the best looking starter of the FT line up, it's appeal should go a long way towards all the people just starting to fly!

    I'm pretty hip to instructional videos on many topics…. and also to building planes, even from scratch. You seriously have a knack for instructional videos. I watched this video all the way through, and i really feel that even without watching it again, you could put the entire kit in front of me without instructions and I could complete it in full. Bravo. I'm so excited to order one of your planes and get to work!

    Hi Guys, YOU are AWESOME!
    Just wanted to let you know, haha.
    It's a shame that the shipping costs to europe are so damn high... Otherwise I already would have bought the FT 3D, the Spitfire, the Cruiser and the Old Speedster! :-)
    Time for a trip to the States then, right?
    But seriously guys, I think you should work on a solution to the shippingcosts to Europe, because there is in fact a lot of interest in your speedbuild kits, but the shipping costs are too high..
    So, please work on that!
    You're the best, Josh, Josh, David, Chad, Alex and the rest of your team! I love you! :D

    What battery you prefer 1300mAh or the 1000mAh one? Also I see that speedster has different core specifications than ones posted with core build on the website. (8x4 vs 9x4.7 props, 500mAh vs 1000+mAH etc.) Any idea why is that so?
    Thank

    Is there a CG mark on the plans... I can't seem to get mine right

    • @undeada-man1920
      @undeada-man1920 10 ปีที่แล้ว

      The CG should be the middle ridge line 0 to 2" to the fuselage. Hope that solved your problem. (There is no mark on the plans as far as I know of.)

    How do u score the foam

    • @sherriandalan
      @sherriandalan 11 ปีที่แล้ว

      Use a BBQ stick and rub it along the line or scratch it. This will give the foam a place to bend. You are denting the paper at the place you want it to bend. You could cut it at the same place but just the top paper, don't cut through.

    Where is the cg for the ft old speedster?

    • @ronaldfranck6960
      @ronaldfranck6960 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      In the video, and you have to dig for it, Josh makes a small, verbal note that the c/g is right on the wing bend. Sadly, this is not noted on the plans, nor do the plans include a pattern for control horns and it does not have a pattern for the landing gear nor does it call out what size music wire to use when creating the landing gear. The builder is dependent upon the build video to complete this model. Flite Test could up their game a bit by making the downloadable plans more complete by providing all this information along with patterns for the afore mentioned items. This is, after all a beginner airplane.

    Why not make the bevel tool that Sailor John uses since its cheap and simple and makes perfect 45 degree cuts. just a block of molding a razor blade and 2 screws.

    • @SeaPancakes1
      @SeaPancakes1 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes, if you use another type of glue, like foam safe CA, it is much more expensive and does not bond foam board as well as hot glue. Also, if you get CA on your hands it is very hard to get it off.
