I'm still really suprised that Nick Wright thinks Patrick Mahomes has tiny hands; Brock Purdy has the same size hands as Mahomes, according to NFL combine data, and Wright has repeatedly said Purdy has tiny hands.
Nick talks about Purdy not looking good for long stretches in this postseason...how about Mahomes in the entire 2nd half of the Ravens game? Also, I'm not impressed with Mahomes' performance in the postseason because he's played ahead the whole time, hasn't had to come from behind, etc (to use Nick's metric for Purdy for much of the regular season). And don't even get me started on that Buffalo game, where the Chiefs lose by 3 if you swap out the place kickers - not exactly Mahomes as superman.
Yah here's the real Mahomes-Purdy comparison: Purdy's going up against a defense as good or maybe better than the Ravens', while Mahomes is going up against a D that hasn't played well in some time.
Lamar isn't better in the postseason than Purdy. Very much the opposite. He's a chump in the playoffs, while Purdy has a far better record, including comeback wins. So, no, the Chiefs aren't facing a lesser QB threat in the SB, compared to their previous game.
Nick's a-hole is clenched so tight he can't admit that it would be a Cinderella story if Purdy leads the 49ers to a SB win; he's that desperately in need of narrative control.
Nick is trying to rewrite history hard. He started the year saying the 49ers should have started Trey Lance, that Purdy would hold them back, that he trusts Dak more in the playoffs, that Purdy couldn't play from behind. He spent the whole year calling him mediocre and overrated

Also note that they only scored 13 and 22 against the Saints and Chargers, both of which would be bad outputs for Purdy. Really misleading graphic here using margin of victory, too, when they gave up 0, 10, 14, and 16 in those 4 games (avg of 10), speaking to how good the defense was. In 19/26 games with Purdy, the 49ers have scored 27+ points.
If you watch the film, too, I think Jimmy only had 1 completed pass in the Cardinals/Rams games (his best games) that traveled 10+ air yards. I think Jimmy's performance in those 4 games is overstated.

Call me old-fashioned, but when the defense consistently gets gashed the last several weeks and the O-line has been objectively bad all year long, I don't think calling Purdy the team's weak link is respectful at all.
Nick chooses to ignore entire position groups just to put Purdy down for no reason. A reminder that coming into the playoffs Nick also literally said the 49ers "can't win a super bowl with him."

I think you hit it on the head. Nick’s always been trying to push back against his hype but in moments it comes across as overly critical of a young player overachieving expectations
The biggest problem with Nick's entire argument is that he judges Purdy on a different standard even if he doesn't intentionally mean to. The case is this entire year. We've literally seen the guys he capes for play bad and he doesn't focus on any of their mistakes like he does with Purdy like when Lawrence played terrible most of the year and still put him top 10. If he really wants to be "Mr. Consistency," he should judge all of his own guys the same way he does with Purdy which he doesn't.
The amount of goal posts that are moved for Purdy and CMC was part of the team when they had 3 losses ..

This chiefs defense has been great and carried them. People act like Mahomes was given a Corolla and is winning the Daytona 500. He has Kelce, Reid, Rice, and a top tier defense with a reliable kicker.

"Against all odds" post was used for their recap video of the NFC championship game and play on words for the Superbowl being in Vegas.. I'd say being down 17 at halftime and 14 midway through the 3rd and the Lions having a 91.5% chance of winning that game it's okay to post "against all odds." They aren't saying they were underdogs all year or in this game.

Jimmy G's passer rating went down about 20 points from SF to OAK, so did Alex Smith's from KC to WSH.

Why do these supposed analysts continue to say if this QB beat the other QB in this game ? A QB plays a teams defense last I checked. If San Francisco have 4 pick 6s and 3 fumble recovery’s wins but a last minute field goal and purdy attempts 10 passes all game would that make him better? This QB vs QB is ridiculous
