I’m horrified to see in news today that the chicken sold in Sainsbury’s is not ethically sourced.
The chickens live and die a horrendously cramped and miserable life.

I'm surprised that people are surprised! Sainsbury's is a massive supermarket chain, if you want a company with high ethics, forgot the PR rubbish, you need to go to the farm shops. Sainsbury's is big business, profit is the priority and not ethics. I think what disappoints people is that Sainsbury's try to make out they are a cut above Tesco, Morrisons and Asda, but the reality is they are no better. They have to give off this 'superior' image to justify their higher prices.

Nature provides us with enough food for every living creature on the planet. Farmers and supermarkets have the responsibility of growing, harvesting and distributing it responsibly. Billions of pieces of single-use plastic from each supermarket. Abusive and polluting factory farming. Selling products tested on animals and burning the rainforest for palm oil or soya. Use of sweat-shop factories. Clearly the food industry is not doing its job properly. Governments should legislate on these issues before it is too late. Sainsburys are responsible as one of the UKs largest retailers, and should stop operating its business in such a dark, horrible and destructive manner.
