Nice video! It helped me a lot with opening the remote. However, my right arrow is not responsive as it should be. I need to press it very hard in order to make it work. Is there a way to clean these contacts in the inside?
I just had the same problem. The rubber and the arrow plastic got deformed slightly. I replaced those two with another remote. You can try to play around with putting some padding there or use heat etc.
@@fatgirlboy9341 My problem was dirt under the metal part of the button. In the meantime, I discovered that the white foil with the metal buttons is somehow glued to the PCB. Because the right arrow button is just at the edge of the PCB, I managed to slightly lift the foil with a needle and to clean the contacts.
@@nemilose my metal buttons are fine. i directly press the metal buttons and they work. thanks for the tips.

Thank you for the useful instructions. However, there is a significant misconception in the video. The metallic plates on the upper side of the circuit board do not make electrical contact with the rubber keys. The electrical contact is made by the hidden underside of the metallic plates. Additionally, their upper side is protected by a plastic foil. Unless the foil detaches from the board, there should be no way for dirt to get into the contacts. See the useful comment by @nemilose: "... My problem was dirt under the metal part of the button."
This fixed my remote. Before this is took a really hard press to work the volume buttons. Dismantled, cleaned fluff off the rubber buttons, wiped the metal micro switches with IPA and all good. Thanks!
i need to replace the buttons on mine as all the markings have warn off and the replacement aftermarket ones dont work very well so i will buy a cheap one with the same button pattern and cannibalize it for the buttons
Does anybody know where to purchase a new Scroll Wheel, mine broke, and forget about trying to glue back the parts. Too fiddly and if using super glue, risk of gluing fingers to wheel. The best solution I have seen and used is to use a BBQ wooden skewer (shaved to fit the hole.
My POWER button has started to constantly stay RED at all times and will not allow me to use the remote basically at all. Is this due to a possible sticky button that needs to be taking apart and cleaned? I’ve reset and re registered it and didn’t help. Would the power button staying red at all times meaning a button is stuck down on one of the contacts?
No se que dijistes pero yo lo desarmo todo y lo lavo con escobilla y detergente 🥱🥱 ecepto la placa lo lavo con isopropilico, pero si evitar que le entre liquido al microfono para q no se dañe👍
Thanks... spilled coffee on it and it stopped working. Opened it cleaned and dried it and now works fine 😊
Perfect, just what I needed to know where the clips where to pop it open.
Excellent video. It does help. I was worried to open the remote, but the video was as helpful as it could be. Thanks!
Thanks! just what I'm looking for. Great!
I love you! Instead of the pick I used a (clean) metal faucet drain filter thingy. Worked perfectly without damage.

Suggestion, do NOT use a current Debit or Credit card to open the remote, you can damage the card, I used an old metal debit card.

Thx U so much !
My power button continues to stay RED. It was working fine.
