Not everyone has an inner monologue, but it is absolutely a thing a lot of people have, it was fun to see the live reaction to you guys realising one of you has it and one doesn't in real time lol
that's how i come to any conclusion or make decisions, i have two voices in my head arguing the pros and cons of something and then i decide at the end lol

Apparently only 25% of people have a narrator in their head, so that's me Carl and Mrs boomer all in that! That's why I smoke weed so I don't have to listen to myself for a while. 😂😂 ✌️
In response to your question about 'self narration' - I sometimes run through things in my head, and talk them through especially if I am preparing to talk about it later with someone - e.g. creating dialogue, comedy, narrative or presentation. I don't maintain a running commentary of every action as I go through my day. BTW Karl isn't 'stupid'. His 'Karl Pilkington persona' is that of a straight-talking, no-nonsense deadpan type of person. He's almost playing 'devils advocate' and providing the voice of the ordinary man, making either controversial challenges, observations, or asking questions that many do but are afraid to ask. That's why people relate to him and find him funny. He's actually applying pure logic in some situations akin to the boy in the story of 'the emperor's new clothes'. Dare I say he's accentuating his own dry way of seeing the World, but to a level where he's being a 'provocative fool' with his 'straight-faced' assertions which can sound outrageous. This type of humour is typical in parts of the UK and we get it, because it often provokes those who either take it literally or actually believe he's being totally serious. This type of humour (irony) is often lost on many Americans, whereas we in the UK grew up with it.
on the thinking in sentences thing sometimes you will meet people who started in one country speaking one language then move to another country where they learn the language of the new country and after a few years or a decade find that they stopped thinking in the old language and now think in the new. my parents used to train priests to go off to other countries and it seemed to be a common thing to talk about when they met up years later.
The inner monologue is something that occurs during certain types of brain activity. For example, you tend to use an inner monologue when you're curious about things. But we don't have an inner monologue for stuff like hunger because it's a neurological response. We would only experience the inner monologue when we ask ourselves 'what should we eat?' in response to the hunger. However, many people have a regular routine and don't need to ask themselves such things.
I spent most of my life thinking everyone had the ability to have a hypothetical conversation in their own mind, design a machine by visualizing it in their own mind, playback music and movies and memories and such -- in their own minds... I go in and out of narration. I definitely don't need to think "Oh look at the time, I should see what the Mrs wants for dinner.", but if I'm problem solving something like a computer problem, I've definitely had a conversation in my head "The power's definitely hooked up. I've got the power jumper on the board, I've removed that stick of memory, so let's try the other one."
When I think I perceive the sentence but nothing in my head actually says them, if it did it wouldn't be thinking, it would be listening. Thoughts are abstract, no sentence is ever said but I understand the thought in words.

Its usually just my name that the voice says and I honestly feel like its ghosts just fucking with me coz it wakes me up.

I think in narration, I also have conversations in my head too see what the likely outcomes of a situation might be lol
Love this I have this on dvd
You keep aquariums? What do you have?
I also have the inner monologue, not constantly but ill chide myself if i do something dumb or drop something
You should show all the tanks …..i for one would love to see em lol
This ⬆⬆ that would be a interesting video...and no chance of a copyright claim - result !!
Please show the aquariums!! Been meaning to sort ours out :(
Oh i narrate my thoughts all day everyday not like a story but what im gonna do or what im actually doing 😂
"armstrong - its just a big rock, houston"
Queen Boomer is looking stunning, as always of course, lol!
And just to note, i know i think in full sentences with my accent.
I would naturally think that most people hear their own voices when thinking in their heads right?
Queen Boomer clearly has her cheeky side too, i love it, lol!
Although i think she's going to be in trouble for some of her cheeky comments, lol!
Karl's thinking should be studied by scientists, lol!
It's such a conundrum of unusual thoughts.
The places his mind goes when he thinks it way out there, lol!
A great video as always guys.
Have a wonderful day, take care!
I read a book by Jeremy Clarkson once and I read it in his voice , like it was an audio book or something..... LOL!!! But TRUE!!!!
You should totally do the intro from Welcome Back Kotter for your intro :)
It’s an internal monologue. I have one.
I hear my thoughts as a voice too, so it confused me when Ricky was so outraged about that.
I think in narration but i am a Manc so.........
So for those of you who don’t have an inner voice, do you not ‘hear’ the music and lyrics being sung in your head when you read familiar song lyrics?
I'm like Karl and the Queen i do think whole sentences, and in my accent😂
Weird that Ricky got to 2011 without realising people have inner monologue.
Figure-8 pufferfish, my favourite of all time. Can a fish be "cute"? Well, yes. Yes they can.
Inner monologue people for the win
I constantly talk to myself. I find it odd that strange that other people don't.
15:30 What happens when you read a book? There isn't a "voice" inside of your head narrating the words?
I'd love to see you fish tank setup! Massive angler here.
I do narrate in my own head, but not all the time. I don't know why I do it sometimes and not all the time or none of the time, there doesn't seem to be any pattern to it.
The diary was hilarious, I still remember the first time I heard it on the podcast and trying (and failing) to stop myself laughing out loud at the darts on the PSP.
so Brian you don't hear thoughts at all? Do you also have aphantasia by any chance?
I have an internal narration sometimes it spills out haha, my internal voice sounds how I think I sound, not what I hear back on recording ... I talk to A LOT of people in my day to day job, if I had to listen to my voice all day F my Life haha
I am constantly talking to myself in my head. Its annoying actually. and often when i sleep, when i am just drifting off and im in that zone between awake and asleep i hear one or two words spoken to me in my head by a voice that isnt mine. Its usually just my name that the voice says and I honestly feel like its ghosts just fucking with me coz it wakes me up.
Tbf if you only had Koi or Guppies you probably would read a magazine specifically about them.
Can you watch more of these? There is a 2 hour compilation of his diary
Now that made me laugh! Karl and you two too😂😂 if that makes sense
I think out full sentences like 75% of the time lol. If I could talk to myself 24/7 without looking nuts then I probably would
This is the only reaction channel i watch, dont know what it is but i cant stand the others so well done
Lol I loved the reaction I'm a South African right... and I don't really think narratively about general stuff and I never really think in my accent at all hey unless its a Zulu thought or any thought about my my neighborhood, family or anything close like that but generally my thoughts are just internal reactions or in English especially the " voice in my head" that's in English but I think that's because I watch a lot of American and British stuff
those obsessed with how others view them have said internal monologue to prevent people knowing their true self
